born and raised in Fallbrook, North Carolina to John and Naomi Wagner. Johnny is the middle child of three, having both a younger and older sibling.Â
his father played for the North Carolina Panthers after he was drafted from college and retired not too long ago and was the reason that Johnny got into football in the first place. He has been playing since he was old enough.Â
Despite being a middle child, Johnny did not feel overshadowed by it. He found his own way, taking football by charge with neither of his other siblings showed nearly as much interest. For the longest time, Johnny was convinced he was going to follow in his fatherâs footsteps.Â
In high school, he dated Stevie Rivers. They were the ultimate couple, the ones that everyone envied because they were simply so perfect together. They were always voted most likely to stay together after high school and get married. And Johnny had believed them. For four years the two of them were together.
And then high school came to a close and the two had different plans for the futures. Johnny was offered a full ride scholarship due to his football playing and Stevie was staying close to home. Instead of making each other suffer with long distance, they parted way on good terms. It left all Fallbrook in shock.Â
It wasnât the end of their relationship entirely. When Johnny came home over breaks, he got together with Stevie almost exclusively. Which, in turn, led to her becoming pregnant. However, this was at the point in his life where he found himself in a binding contract for up and coming research that he could not back out of. No matter how much it tore him apart.Â
Johnny did what he could from a distance, came to see Stevie when the twins were born and soon after, he had to return. Summers were spent in Fallbrook, at least for a few weeks where they could pretend to be a family for a while before he returned to Colorado once more.Â
This worked for them, as much as it could and they remained in each otherâs lives as best friends and for the sake of the twins. There wasnât anything Johnny wouldnât do for his kids, Zoe and Logan. In this same time period, Johnny was introduced to new family when his cousin Verity Sinclair came to stay with his parents. While he wasnât around much, the two quickly bonded.Â
There never seemed to be a right time for Johnny and Stevie by the time his contract was coming to a close after nearly two times of renewing it. At each time the contract was up, one of them was in a relationship and he couldnât bring himself to move. However, in the fall of 2021, his mother became sick. While Johnny was sure it was the first time she was sick, it was clear to him after she passed that it was not. His father had been covering it up so the kids did not have to worry. It had always been his motherâs wish.Â
Now he is back in town for good and dealing with his emotional loss over a woman he never deserved after he left town. With Stevie pregnant with Javierâs baby and her in a relationship with him, Johnny has no choice but to finally move on from her, as hard as it might be.Â
