Y/n wasn't sure how long she and Baby were hugging for. After a while, he finally stopped shaking, but now he was just eerily still. Y/n could feel his breath brushing against her neck, it caused shivers to roll down her spine.
She wanted to focus on anything else while Baby was still in her arms, trying to compose himself. But it was a little hard like this. He was so close, as if he were trying to bury himself in her skin. His heartbeat thumped against her chest. His hands clutching at the fabric of her shirt.
Clinging, he was clinging to her. Fearing that she would slip back into the void if he were to let go. If he had any say in the matter, it would never be that way again.
He doesn't care what he has to do, who he hast to hurt.
No one is taking her from him again. No one.
"Baby?" Y/n finally broke the silence between them. He didn't answer her, she tried again. "Baby? Are you ok?" She asked. "Do you need-" Her words were suddenly cut short, as Baby pulled back abruptly.
His eyes bore into her own, only this time, there was something different about them. There was an intensity that Y/n had never seen in them before, a deep, desperate need.
Baby's burning gaze fell to her lips for a split second, before trailing back up to her eyes. "Please..." He breathed, a hint of begging to his tone. "Please can I?"
Y/n blinked, one, twice. Then she swallowed, her lips parting to answer him. The words died on her tongue as she felt a pull deep within her.
Yes...
Yes? Did...did she want him to? She does. At least, she think she does.
The way he was looking at her, the way his grip tightened, his chest heaving with shaky breaths. She gasped lightly as she saw deep violet marks peaking out from his hoodie, slithering up his neck and the underside of his jaw.
Yet, she felt no fear upon seeing the marks.
No. It was far from fear, what she felt.
Pulling...pushing...
"Y/n..." Baby all but whined her name. She wasn't sure what came over her in that moment, but she found her hands cupping his face...and pulling him closer.
Baby didn't wait for her to close the gap, before he crashed their lips together. Y/n felt her breath being taken from her as he deepens the kiss, his tongue forcing it's way past her lips.
Yes.
God yes...
Too long. It's been too long since he's tasted her like this. And even after so long, it remains the same.
The tiniest of noises left Y/n as she was backed up against a close by tree. She paid no mind to how it's bark rubbed uncomfortably at her back, as her senses were being overloaded by him.
She even forgot to breath, only reminded of the necessity when Baby pulled away. She inhaled deeply, chest rising and falling with every intake of much needed air.
But Baby was far from finished with her. He leaned down, planting wet open mouth kisses to her jaw, trailing down her neck. Y/n whimpered lightly and grasped onto the loose fabric of his hoodie.
"B-Baby-!" She gasped, as his sharp teeth met her neck's sweet spot. Baby only growled in response before pressing his knee in between her thighs. Her face burned with flushed fever, panicked eyes frantically scanning thier surroundings.
There might not have been anyone around to see what they were doing, that didn't mean someone wouldn't eventually wonder by.
"Wait. W-Wait, Baby." She tried, weakly pulling at his hoodie sleeves. Baby ignored her, pressing firmly against her. One hand moved up from her waist, to cup the underside of her breast. Y/n failed to stifle the noises that fell from her lips, as Baby gently groped and squeezed.
She wanted to give in.
Oh god...she wanted to give into him so badly.
But-
Buuuuuzzzzz
Y/n eye's shot wide open as her phone buzzed in her pocket. "Baby!" She gasped, pulling harder this time. She didn't need to know who was calling her.
She was warned before she got here-
"Baby, stop!" She said firmly. Baby finally let up, pulling back enough to stubbornly glare down at her. She quickly reached into her pocket and fished out her phone before answering.
"H-Hello?"
"It's almost dark, Y/n. Are you on your way home?" Celine's voice asked from the other line.
"Yeah. Sorry, I got a little distracted." Y/n tells her, glancing at Baby, who was about two seconds from taking that phone from her and tossing it into the sun.
"Well hurry back. I don't wan out any later than you already have been. You know what lurks in the dark. Hurry back or I'll send the girl's your location. Is that clear?"
"Yes mother. I'll be home right away." Y/n says before hanging up. She then sighed heavily as she pockets her phone once again. She glanced up at Baby, and felt flustered all over again.
"The head of those demon hunters, I presume?" Baby asked with a scowl. Y/n nods her head, avoiding his harden gaze. He backed off of her, placing his hands in his pockets. "I'll take you home."
"But-"
"I'll let you go once you make it close enough. I'm not letting you walk alone at night for some demon to get their hands on you." Baby says before taking her hand in his. "I'm the only demon who should be touching you."
"If it were up to me, you'd be all mine." Baby shrugs. "But I know their heart aches for you, as mine does. They've suffered loss, as I have. I will not deny them a chance to reclaim you."
Y/n looked to him. "Even you aren't that cruel."
Baby huffs. "Guess not."
Y/n and Baby made it just outside of her house, Baby was reluctant to let Y/n go just yet, his hand still holding onto hers. Y/n didn't want to let go just yet either. But she knew if she didn't hurry and get inside soon, her mother would come looking for her.
She turned to Baby. "Thank you, for walking me home." Baby nods to her. "Anytime." Just as Y/n was removing her hand from his, he tightened his grip and leaned down to whisper in her ear.
"Next time, there will be no interruptions. I intend to thoroughly make you mine."
Y/n felt her heart flutter at his words. He plants a soft kiss at her cheek before pulling back. With one last look at her, he disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Y/n exhaled shakily before composing herself and walking inside. Thankfully, her mother wasn't anywhere near the door to hear any of that. She walked further inside, and saw Celine waiting in the livingroom.
"There you are." Celine spoke with a relived sigh. "Y/n, you said you'd only be gone an hour."
"I was-"
"Then what kept you?" Celine asked, arms crossed. "Where did you go?" Y/n tensed up. "I-I just went to walk around the park is all. I just needed some alone time."
"Alone time?" Celine scoffed. "This late in the evening? Y/n, you know better than to be out for that long so late." Y/n looked away. "I was fine." Celine narrowed her eyes. "Look at me when you speak, young lady." She said firmly.
Y/n looked back to her mother. "I was fine." She says more clearly. "Nothing happened."
"That doesn't matter." Celine stands from the couch. "What if something did happen? What if a demon got to you? What if I or the girls couldn't get there to save you in time?"
"But it didn't." Y/n tried. "I understand your worry but nothing happened. And you wouldn't have to worry so much if you would have just trained me."
"Absolutely not!" Celine waved her hand dismissively. "You know very well as to why I won't allow you to train!"
"Then how am I suppose to defend myself!?" Y/n argued.
"You won't! That is why Rumi and the other train, to protect the honmoon, to protect you!" Celine tells her. "I won't have you going anywhere near those things! Your...mark, only makes you that much more vulnerable..."
Y/n felt a pang in her chest at the way Celine said it. Her mark. As if it were something disgusting...
It wasn't.
It only meant someone loved her. Was that so wrong?
"It's not like it's demon patterns." Y/n muttered.
"It might as well be." Celine said lowly. Y/n furrowed her brows. "What would it matter? It wouldn't change who I am!"
"My daughter would never have such horrid patterns! You are not like them! You're not like-"
"Like Rumi?" Y/n cut her short.
Celine froze, faltering a bit before her anger came rising back. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
"You treat Rumi and I as if there was something wrong with us." Y/n continues. "I see the way she acts around you. Whatever it is you're telling her, it's only hurting her worse."
Celine's expression hardens. "You haven't the slightest clue of what you're talking about."
"Yes I do!" Y/n said firmly. "Rumi isn't any more different than me, or Mira, or Zoey! You just treat her that way because you can't accept her for more than her patterns!"
"Enough!" Celine yells, Y/n flinched slightly. "Rumi is more than her patterns. She will be, once the honmoon is sealed and we find a way to rid them once and for all. And you...your mark...if I have anything to say about it, a demon will never have you. Not my daughter."
Y/n's heart dropped to her stomach at Celine's words. It felt like a hot iron in her throat. The idea of being kept away from...
"Now." Celine starts. "We will not be discussing this again. Am I clear?"
Y/n looked away. "Yes m-"
"Look at me." Celine said sharply.
Y/n turned her head up to Celine. "...Yes mother."
Sorry for the short chapter, I'm in the process of a big move so that's gonna be taking up most of time for the next month or so.
But don't worry! I'll be sure to work on this and "Sanctuary" during my free time~
There was no denying a soul bond. Soulmates were a lifetime commitment, it could not be ignored or erased. Though, the bond could be broken. For example, if someone's soulmate dies, the bond breaks, and with it, leaves that person with a hole in their hearts that can never be healed.
As if they weren't whole anymore. It was a feeling unlike anything else, no amount of sadness could compare to loosing your second half. You'd be lucky to end up numb, and after a while, most did.
It was hard to find another partner after, a near impossible task even. There's no love like a soulmate's.
So to watch your soulmate die...over and over...
It was beyond devastating, it was agony.
"Oh god..." Y/n murmured as she looks at her phone screen for the third time now, really letting what she just read sink in. She decided to do a bit more research on soulmates, given she practically agreed to commit to the bond.
And so far...she wasn't liking what she was reading. Not so much for herself, but for the boys.
Jinu, Baby, Mystery, Romance, and Abby. All of them, they had to experience that feeling one by one. Seeing her, or a past version of her rather, die. Over and over again...
Guilt ate away at her, though really, she had nothing to be guilty for. It's not like she control over what happened in the past. Death was out of anyone's hands, anyone that was human at least. Even if her time was cut short, she had no say in the matter.
She couldn't have.
If what the boys said was true, that she loved them just as much as they loved her, then why would she want to cut her time with any of them short?
Maybe, she felt guilt for dismissing them like she did when they found her in this lifetime. Swearing again and again that she would never love them.
She had to imagine that wasn't so nice to hear...
Y/n sighed before setting her phone aside. Yet still, she couldn't force herself to love someone she didn't know. In this lifetime, she's never known any of them. They were strangers. How could someone fall in love with a stranger overnight?
As she was lost in thought, a small bit of blue light formed behind her from her floorboard. She didn't notice until she heard a low rumble. Freezing up, her panic eyes drifted to the side, looking over her shoulder.
It was indeed a demon. But not one with a human or monstrous form. But that, of a giant tiger. Y/n nearly fell backwards as she stumbled away, she was close to calling for her mother before the tiger did something...unexpected.
It opened it's mouth, and on it's tongue...was a card.
From where Y/n stood, she could make out the words: "Meet" and "Jinu"
The tiger remained still, aside from it's tail, that flicked around ever so slightly. Y/n relaxed a bit, but was still cautious as she approached. Hesitantly, she took the card from the tiger's tongue. It rumbled softly after closing his mouth, and it almost seemed as if it were smiling.
Y/n looked closer at the card, reading it over.
It was indeed a note from Jinu, asking to meet with her this evening. A more rational side of her knew better than to accept the invitation so easily. Yet, the pull of the bond urged her to go.
So with a sigh, Y/n slipped on her shoes. She gave a look back at the tiger, it was still sitting perfectly still.
"Um...thank you? You can go now...back to uh, Jinu." She tells it, while also wondering if it could actually understand her or not. Thankfully, it did. The tiger rumbled again before sinking back down through the portal at it's feet.
Y/n then left her room, but before she could reach the front door, she was stopped by her mother.
"You're going out?" Celine asked, not looking up from the book she was reading. "What time will you be back? You know I don't like you being out when it gets dark."
"Um, just for an hour." Y/n tells her. "I'll be back before dark, I promise."
Celine glanced towards her daughter. "Should I ask one of the girls to go with you?"
"N-No!"
Celine's brow rose, and Y/n quickly corrected herself. "No." She says more calmly. "It's fine, I'll only be gone for an hour. I just want to go for a walk is all. I'll call if I need anything, I promise."
Celine stared at her for a moment before nodding. "I'll be checking in on you. Answer your phone when I call."
"Yes, mother. I will. See you later." Y/n says before finally leaving. As she shut the door behind her, she sighed. If the stress of figuring this bond out wouldn't kill her first, hiding it from her mother surely will...
Y/n eventually made it to the meeting spot. She glanced around nervously, as she noticed not too many people were around. It was a public park, but at this time during the week, most people would be on their way home from work.
There were a few passersby, who came and went, and as the seconds moved on, the more nervous Y/n got.
"Yo."
Y/n turned to see Baby approaching. Hands in his pockets, expression unreadable at first glance. Y/n furrowed her brows in confusion. "What are you doing here?" She asked him.
"Didn't you get the note?" Baby asked back.
"Yes, but, that was from Jinu."
Baby smirked. "Well, his damn tiger doesn't listen to anyone but him. So I had to have Jinu give the order to actually send the little shit to you." He explained. "Point is, I wanted to talk to you."
Y/n's nerves settled slightly. "Ok...About what?"
"About the bond." Answered Baby simply, his once cocky demeanor shifting. "Have you...felt anything change?"
Y/n hesitated to answer. "It's been the same mostly...I'm still having those dreams."
Baby took a step towards her. "Have...Have your memories come back? Anything? Even the smallest bit?" His questioning made Y/n go tense. This almost seemed like an interrogation, if it weren't for the hint of hopefulness in his tone.
"I'm telling you, I'm not...I'm not the person you remember." Y/n tried. "I'm not her anymore. I'm just...me. I'm sorry..." Baby sighed and looked away. "All the more reason to strengthen the bond. You might be a new person, but it's still you. Your soul has remained the same, even if your physical being is different." He glanced back towards her. "But not by much. You still..."
He sighed again, a small smile tugging at his lips. "You still have the same eyes. Same shape, same color...looking at me like I'm worth looking at..."
What was that suppose to mean? Baby turned to face the setting sun, his expression once again unreadable. Though...maybe wistful?
"Would you believe me if I said I was better person than I am now?" Baby murmured. "Well...for a little while I was." Y/n stared at him for a moment. "You wanna tell me, so I can better believe you?"
A rougher, scrappier, younger Baby. Though, of course, that wasn't his name back then. It's been far too long to remember what it truly was. But it mattered very little to him now.
What mattered then, was survival. He had to fight to survive everyday of his life. He had to fight for food, fight for water, fight to keep his sickly mother alive. Though, when you were poorer than dirt, that last task was near impossible.
So theft was the only thing he could resort to. Any chance of getting a proper job was out of the question. All who looked at him saw only one thing.
“A filthy street rat”
He was dirty, he reeked of poverty, and above all else, was in constant trouble with the authorities. Anytime he was caught stealing, he would be beaten down with wooden sticks.
His back scarred with each punishment he suffered.
But he could not stop. If he did, his mother would die. But even knowing it, she hated that her son had to suffer because of her.
“You’re hurt.” His mother voice was like nails on chalkboard. She coughed after every sentence, her chest heaving, as if speaking was a challenge. It was…
“My baby, please…please stop this…I will die of a broken heart before this illness takes me…”
But Baby knew if he if did stop, she would die either way. He'd rather get hurt a thousand times over than let that happen. A day longer, just a day longer, he would keep her alive. Even if just for one more day...
But his next attempt would be his last. He was once again caught by the authorities once again. But this time...his punishment would be far worse than he anticipated.
He was beaten, threatened to loose his hands if he stole again. But worse than that...he had been informed that his mother died.
A foul smell, they said. It lead to an investigation, and upon searching his home, the corpse of his mother was found. Baby, now filled with sorrow and rage, was at the mercy of his wild emotions.
"You are a failure..."
"You weren't enough..."
"She's dead because of you..."
His thoughts clouded his mind, and the only outlet that felt right to him, was to use his fists. Smashing in the faces of anyone who looked at him funny.
Eventually it lead to several men dying at his hands. It only made the voices in his head grow louder and louder and...
"Whoa! That's some strength you have boy!"
Baby, face still covered in the blood of the men he killed, looked over his shoulder at the man standing before him.
"But you're using all that strength for the wrong purposes."
Baby growled and turned to fully face him. "Shut you mouth old man! Before I kill you too!"
The man laughed loudly, fists set on his hips. "Do try! I'd like to see just how strong you really are!"
Baby's expression darkens. "Fine..."
He rushed the man, and just as he raised his fists...
Darkness.
Baby awoke sometime later, though, he wasn't where he'd expected to be. He was in someone else's home. It was better than the homes he was use to, though, not wealthy by any means.
Clean, that's what he noticed most of all.
He was somewhere different.
"Awake are we?"
Came the same voice of the man before. Baby looked over, watching him walk inside the room, cold cloth in hand. "This is for your face. It's pretty swollen."
Baby put a hand to his face and winced as soon as his fingers made contact with his cheek. That wasn't from the men he was fighting before...
Baby glared up at the man as he grew closer. "Why didn't you kill me?" He asked. The man shook his head, placing the cold cloth on his swollen cheek. Baby hissed and moved away, but the man held the back of his head to keep him still.
"My fists aren't for killing." The man said simply. "They're for defending. Protecting." He stared at Baby for a moment. "You ever have anything, or anyone to protect, young man?"
Baby fell silent, his eyes falling to his lap as his fists tightened. "Not anymore..."
"Hm." The man hummed. "I know a man without purpose when I see one. I also know a man with great potential when I see one."
"Your point?" Baby scoffed.
"My point being, is that you need new drive. Something that's gonna keep you going." Said the man before grabbing one of Baby's fists. "That don't involve taking lives to feel something."
Baby continued to glare him down. "You don't know me." He spat.
"I know enough." The man responded before heading for the room's door. "Come on." Baby hesitated for a minute before getting out of bed and following the man.
He lead Baby to another room, inside sitting upright in bed, was a young woman around his age. For some strange reason, Baby felt a sort of...pull. He felt it every time her eyes met his own.
The woman looked to the two, a bit confused. "Father, who is this?" She asked.
"This is...ah, who are you young man?"
"██████"
"Right." The man smiled. "From here on, he's gonna be my new student."
Baby looked at him as if he said the most insane sentence he could have spoken. "Hey, who said I'd-"
"And as his first task, he'll be assigned to look after you while I'm away."
"Hey!" Baby said louder. "I'm not a damned babysitter! And who says I'm gonna be your student!?"
"I can happily knock you on your ass again, to show you how badly you need learning, if you wish?" The man says with a casual grin. Baby grumbled before sharply turning his head away, an embarrassed flush covering his still swollen cheeks.
"Besides. My daughter is in need of protection, especially when I'm not around. She's sick, you see."
Baby glanced towards the young woman, she averted her gaze. Sick. That tugged at his heart more than it should have. "Can't you afford treatment?" Baby asked.
"You know as good as I that treatment doesn't come easy, or cheaply." The man sighed. "I've done the best I can. She's recovering, but slowly. I do not wish for her to get worse, or something happen while I'm not around. She is my only family, I'd take the sickness from her and onto myself if I could."
Baby knew that feeling all to well...
Maybe that's why he agreed to stay. Though, his apprehension wouldn't last long. He found being here was...easy. Well, when he wasn't getting beaten by that man every lesson.
Turns out he had a dojang, as well as a few other students. They had been more advance from their time with the man, and so, Baby was also receiving beatings from them as well.
It was all around utterly humiliating.
"You look terrible."
Baby looked to the woman with irritation. She quickly corrected herself. "O-Oh well, I mean it as in...I-I don't like seeing it. You know? You being hurt and all.."
Baby scoffed and looked away. "Getting hurt is part of fighting, training or otherwise. No avoiding it." The woman's gaze fell to her lap. "Still..."
"Why do you care anyway?" Asked Baby. "You've only known me a few weeks."
"I've just never liked fighting, I guess." Said the woman with a sigh. "Besides, you seem too nice to be hurting like this." Baby rolled his eyes. "I'm not nice. If you knew the things I've done..."
"But you're so nice to my father, and the other students, and...me. You're always looking out for me." The woman fiddled with her fingers bashfully. "You always check on me, you stay with me when father is away, you bring me my meals, and you help me get around whenever I get the strength to move. Then...then you carry me back to bed whenever I get too weak..."
Tears pricked at the woman's eyes. "I must be such a burden. To you and to my father...I'm so sorry you have to do all that for me..."
Baby's expression soften, his irritation melting away into something else...
This is how his mother felt too. She'd always apologize for having Baby take care of her every minute of the day. No matter how many times he told her he didn't mind to, she'd still apologize as if she were nothing but a burden in his life.
"Stop apologizing." Baby muttered. "You can't help you're sick. Besides...I don't care to help you. It's nothing." The woman looked to him with watery eyes. "B-But...I'm sure you'd rather be training more or doing something other than tending to me."
Baby sighed heavily and rubbed the back of his neck. "I just told you, it's fine. I don't mind." He glances at her. "Besides, you're looking a lot better than when I first got here. Means all my help is paying off. So just be glad for your health improving more than worrying about me."
The woman rubbed the tears from her eyes, the smallest of smiles growing on her face. "...See? You are nice."
There was that pull again...
Baby huffed and looked away quickly. "Whatever..."
The weeks turned to months, the young woman's health was improving greatly. Eventually, her sickness faded away, and she was back to full health. She found herself wanting to be closer to Baby more recently. Whether it be taking walks with him, watching him train with her father, or just simply talking.
It was unclear to her at first what she was feeling, until she finally realized why it was she wanted to be with him all the time. Yes, he was good company, he's been a great friend to her, and very caring while she was sick.
But it was much more than that.
She had fallen in love with him, and Baby had fallen for her as well.
It wasn't until that night, where the two were strolling along the pathway back home, did their feelings finally come to light.
The woman stared at hers and Baby's joined hands for a moment, before glancing up to him. "Hey...Can I tell you something?" She asked quietly. Baby looked to her as they walked. "Of course."
She took a shuttering breath before speaking. "I just...wanted to thank you." She began. "You've been so kind to me since we met, always taking care of me, even though you didn't have to. You're the first real friend I've ever had, and you...you mean so much to me. More than you may realize."
Baby's breath stilled in his chest, his eyes widening. The two slowed to a stop, the quiet night air only broken by the sounds of chirping crickets.
"I...I think, I love you." The woman confessed, her gaze locked to the ground. "And...I'd would be very happy to be your wife. If you will have me..."
He could hardly believe it. He wanted to say something, to shout for all to hear of how much he loved her as well. But his lips would not move, though, his body did.
Baby pulled her in close, hugging her tightly. The woman gasped lightly as she felt him trembling. Before she could ask if he was alright. He spoke, with a voice as unsteady as his being.
"I love you too."
"So...What happened after that?" Y/n asked, her voice quiet. Her curiosity was great though, Baby looked as if retelling this story was killing him. His expression should have been telling enough, that it would not have a happy ending.
"I told your father, he was thrilled." Baby smiled weakly. "Said he'd have the whole wedding arranged within a few days. But...we never got to say our vows."
Baby looked to her, pain clear in his deep cyan eyes. "You died. A rival dojang was seeking revenge on your father. Claimed he "humiliated" their teacher in their last duel, and poisoned the water supply. He died...and so did you..."
Y/n fell silent, her heart aching for Baby. She could only imagine what he felt in that moment. The love of his life, taken from him so suddenly...
"I'm...so sorry, Baby. I...I had no idea..." She murmured, her hand reaching for his. Just as her fingers brushed his, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to his chest, holding her tight against him.
She was shocked at first, but slowly eased. She moved her arms up and held him gently, allowing him to take a moment to recover. She was certain having to relive that story wasn't too pleasant, even if it did happen hundreds of years ago.
"...I'm so glad you're here." Baby whispered into the crook of her neck. "Please...Please don't leave me again...I can't take it. I can't bare to see it happen again...Please..."
Y/n said nothing. What could she say? She couldn't remember, even after hearing his story. But she did feel for him. And as much as she hated to admit it, it wasn't just empathy.
She felt his pain...
As if it happened to her...
And it did. Even if she can't remember. It happened. She met Baby all those years ago. She fell in love with him.
She died.
"I'm not going anywhere." Y/n finally spoke. A promise.
One, she was unsure that she could keep. The future was uncertain, tomorrow was never guaranteed for anyone. She could live to be a hundred, or die tonight.
Or maybe that's what she just wanted to tell herself.
Truth is.
She really didn't want to leave him. Even if she couldn't understand it. She didn't want him to hurt anymore.
Right then...the two felt it tighten. But it wasn't unpleasant. The opposite, actually. It felt as if a wave a warmth washed over their souls, pulling them both closer together.
The bond was growing stronger...
Did I really just draw inspo from Akaza's lore for Baby's past?
I’m having serious writer’s block with this series not even gonna lie-
I have the climax already thought up in my head and how it would end, but no sort of build for it. Which…isn’t great. Not like I can just skip to that lol
So if future chapters seem a bit rushed, that’s why. I’m just…not having as much fun with this series as I did at the start.
Partly because my mind’s been on the new Saja Boys fic, “Endless”. But also because of outside stress and my (lowkey declining) mental health.
So to be completely honest-
I think I’m gonna start wrapping the series up just a tad bit early.
That by no means it will be poorly written (I hope not at least) I’m still gonna put my all into writing it and putting the effort in.
I just…wanna finish it already TwT
Sorry about the inconvenience if it has caused any, and thank you for understanding

"Y/n...Y/n!"
A sharp gasp tore through Y/n throat, her eyes shooting wide open, only close them again as the brightness of the room was too much all at once.
"Y/n, look at me!"
Y/n's eyes fluttered open slowly, revealing Jeong. He was holding onto her shoulders tightly, almost bruising. But he wasn't the only one there with her.
"Is she alright? What happened to her?"
Y/n glanced over to her right, Jae. He looked panicked, a look that Y/n has never seen from him before. She then looked down at herself.
Her markings were still present, sharp claws protruding from her fingertips, and though she couldn't see it, her eyes glowed brightly. Sharp, wild, inhumane.
"It was a nightmare." Said Jeong, his hold on her loosening. Jae sighed a breath of relief. "Must have been pretty bad for her to react like that." He muttered. Y/n barely heard what they were saying, her mind still buzzing with panic. She just stared at the two, as memories of her nightmare replayed in her head,
Of them both, all of them, being erased. Turned to ash, right before her eyes, as she was helpless to save any of them.
With a sob she lurched forward and buried her face in Jeong's chest. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close in his embrace. "Y/n?" He spoke softly.
"I'm sorry." Y/n whimpered. Jeong caressed her back. "Sorry? What do you have to be sorry for?" He asked.
Really, she didn't have to be sorry for anything. What happened in her dream was nothing but her mind playing tricks on her. They were all still here, alive. But still, it felt so...real, so vivid.
Even though it's been forever since she was trapped in the Underworld, it was still so fresh in her mind. The cold, the darkness, the demons. All of it, she still knew the sights, the sounds, the smells. Still ever present in her mind. Haunting her.
"I want to save you all." Y/n started, sniffling as she spoke. "I really do...But I'm useless the way I am now. If I can't get stronger, then...then I'm going to lose all of you. And then I'll be back in the Underworld...I'll be all alone again..."
Jeong fell silent, as guilt ate away at him. Luckily, Jae filled in that silence. "That's not gonna happen." He tells her, scooting close. "You...we will figure something out. We're not going to let anything happen to you, not while we're still here."
Y/n peaked out from Jeong's firm chest to look at him. "But what if we run out of time? What if my powers don't return before Gwi-Ma surfaces?"
Jae didn't falter, he fed her what she needed to hear, even if it was all lies. "Then we and the hunters take Gwi-Ma on together. I promise, Y/n. You're going to be fine."
Jae didn't miss the way Jeong glared at him through his curtained bangs. He didn't pay him any mind. There was no point in arguing over this. If betraying Y/n it meant keeping her alive, then so be it.
They could still protect her in the Underworld...Couldn't they?
“Y-Yeah…I know I’m probably just being paranoid.” Y/n sighed shakily. “It just…felt way too real.”
“It wasn’t.” Jeong says firmly, yet assuringly. “Nothing is going to hurt you. We’ll make sure of it.” Y/n smiled gently, she reached for his hand. “I know.” Jeong stared at her for a moment, it was then Y/n remembered what happened between them a few days ago.
She pulled back, clearing her throat slightly. Jae scoffed. “You see that Mystery? That’s what happens when you do stupid shit. It’s all awkward now.”
“His name is Jeong.” Y/n corrects him. “And it’s…not awkward.”
“How convincing.” Jae rolls his eyes. Y/n paused a moment before speaking. “Is what Jeong said true?” Jae raises an eyebrow. “Depends. What did he say?”
“That you uh…well, that all of you felt the same way he does about me?”
Y/n didn’t miss the way Jae tensed up. At first he didn’t say a word. Then finally, he answers. “I don’t know what I feel about you, ok?” He says firmly. “You’re so…annoyingly confusing.”
“Wow thanks.” Y/n scoffed.
“Shut up. Just let me…” Jae sighed, taking a moment before continuing. “At first I wanted nothing to do with you. You’re the daughter of the guy who fucked up my life. I was suppose to bring you to him and that would have been the end of it. But…” He went on.
“Then I got to know you. And it turns out, you’re not just Gwi-Ma’s daughter. You’re way better than him. You actually care about others. And despite being a demon, you never want to hurt humans. You even took pity on five undeserving souls, and tried to give them a better life. That’s just…wildly insane to me.”
Y/n stares at him, unlinking, surprised that he could be so...open and sincere. Jae groaned, turning away from her. “I don’t hate you...” He concluded.
Y/n laughed at that. “I’m glad you don’t.”
“He likes you. A lot.” Jeong tells her with a light smirk. Jae sends him a sharp glare, a deep rumble coming from his chest. But he didn’t deny it…
Y/n's smile faltered slightly. "I like you guys too." Jeong perked up at that, but before he could get too excited, Y/n spoke again. "But...you understand that this is a bit sudden right? I can't just fall in love you with you overnight."
Jeong, without missing a beat, took hold of Y/n's hands. "Then I'll do everything I can to make you fall in love with me. I wont rest until you're mine. You're the first person to ever look at me as more than what I am. More than a beast, more than a demon. You found light where I thought there was none. I love you...There's no force strong enough to stop me, not even Gwi-Ma himself, will ever change that."
Y/n only responded with stunned silence. Then, the tiniest laugh escaped her. "I think you're learning to talk more and more every time I see you. But all you can talk about is me?"
"Is that so bad?" Asked Jeong with a grin.
"I guess not." Said Y/n. "If that's what makes you happy."
Jae huffed. "Can you two stop flirting for a minute?" Jeong looks his way, a smug grin on his face. "Jealous." He said. Jae's eye twitched. "Now see here you overgrown dog-"
"Boys." Y/n interrupted. "No fighting. I don't need you two tearing up my place because Jae's being petty."
"I am not!"
"Anyway." Y/n leans back against the couch. "Since you two are already here. You wanna hang out?" She asks the two demons. Jeong didn't hesitate to cuddle up close to Y/n, practically pulling her into his lap. Jae sighed heavily before sitting down at her other side. "Nothing else to do." He shrugs.
For the next hour or so, the three spent watching TV and talking about nothing in particular. It was actually pretty nice, and it certainly helped Y/n forget about her nightmare.
And to see both Jeong and Jae so relaxed, like they didn't have a care in the world, it made feel all warm inside. Soon, they'll be able to relax like this all the time. They won't have to worry about Gwi-Ma ever again, they can just be.
"We'll have more times like this you know?" Y/n suddenly spoke. "Where we can just...not think about you-know-who. Or worry when he'll strike next. We can all just be...free at last."
Jeong nods, nuzzling his face in her hair. "Let's do this at our place next time." He suggests. That certainly caught Y/n's attention. "You guys have somewhere to stay? Here in the human world?"
"We bought it recently." Jae answers her. He was lounged against the other end of the couch. Like some sort of princely cat. "It's much better than the other place."
Y/n supposed it made sense. Soda Pop was the best seller out right now, of course they'd get some money out of it. Along with the promotional stuff and merchandise, of course.
"You're welcomed to come by whenever you want." Said Jeong, a hint of hopefulness in his tone that she would accept his offer. Luckily for him, Y/n was a in a rather good mood after their visit. "Ah, what the hell. You guys up for it now?" She asks.
Before Jae could get a word in, Jeong already has his arms wrapped around Y/n tight and disappeared with a puff of smoke. Jae rolled his eyes. "Whipped." He muttered before vanishing as well.
Within seconds, Y/n was teleported to the Saja Boy's penthouse. It was gorgeous, to say the least. Modern, considering they're all still adapting, And surprisingly clean for five men living together, though, Y/n doubts there ever here long enough to get it messy.
It didn't take any time at all for her to be noticed by the others.
Romance, Seo-Jun, shirtless and drinking from a water bottle, walked into the living room just in time to see Y/n appear. But what Y/n noticed most, was that he was in his demonic form.
As soon as he caught a glimpse of her, he choked on the water in his mouth, sputtering slightly. "Y/n!?" He coughed. Not his best moment, to say the least. Half dressed, covered in water, and out of breath from hacking.
Still, he tried to make it work-
"Miss me already?" He asked with a smirk, as if he weren't just dying two seconds ago.
"I did, actually." Y/n says with a light laugh. "I hope I'm not intruding."
"Never." Seo-Jun tells her. "You're more than welcomed here."
Abby, or rather, Beomseok spoke next as he entered the living room, also in his demon form. "What's the occasion for this surprise visit?" He asked.
"She had a nightmare." Jeong answered for her. "It was pretty bad, whatever it was." Beomseok and Seo-Jun both looked to Y/n. "Jeong." Y/n sighed. "It's fine, I told you. I'm ok."
"You still look pretty shaken up to me." Said Jae. "Stop acting like this isn't bothering you."
"It's not. It wasn't even...you guys wouldn't have..." Y/n trailed off, not wanting to think about it anymore. But it was too late, she's already said too much.
""You guys"? Y/n." Seo-Jun started. "Did...did we do something in your dream?"
Y/n quickly responded. "N-No! No you didn't. Look, I don't want you worrying about it. It wasn't even real."
"You're lying." Jeong said bluntly.
"Y/n, you can tell us." Said Beomseok softly.
Y/n sighed heavily, looking away from them. She knew it was just her mind playing tricks on her. She knew better than to believe in it. And maybe...it was all just a trick orchestrated by Gwi-Ma.
He knew how to find her now, getting into her mind wouldn't be a problem anymore. But. Even if that were the case, Y/n refused to believe any of it.
"I...I had a dream you guys took me back to the Underworld." Her words made the four each go deathly silent. "A-And...Gwi-Ma he...he erased you all from existence. All I could do was watch..."
No one spoke. The room was thick with a tense silence. Y/n looked up from the ground, her brows furrowing in slight confusion. Was...Was her dream really that disturbing to them?
"Guys?"
Before she could say another word, Jinu teleported into the living room. He was equally surprised to see Y/n as Seo-Jun and Beomseok were. "Y/n? What are you doing here?"
"Nightmare." Jae said before swiftly changing the subject. "But we don't need to linger on it anymore. Y/n needs us now, so let's just try and comfort her the best we can."
Y/n didn't question it any further. Really, she could use some comfort right about now.
Still...she couldn't ignore the twinge of uncertainty that swelled in the back of her mind...
Jinu has had to beg his entire life. Ever since he was old enough to hold his father's old bipda, he used his talents to beg. Be it for money or for food. It was for the benefit of his family of course, to keep them alive another day longer. Jinu was a never a selfish person, everything he did, he did for the ones he loved.
So here he was, begging yet again. Not for himself, but for the woman he loved.
He had already made a deal with the Demon King, and now he was asking for more. The king found it amusing, if not pitiful. And Jinu was indeed pitiful.
He was a weak child, skin and bones, always getting sick. Even to adulthood he was weak. He was no protector, even when times called for it. When his father died, he was meant to act as the new provider for his young sister and mother.
Yet he failed to make a difference, he could barely kept them fed, barely keep them healthy. He was no provider, and he was no protector, even when all he had meant so much to him.
He allowed his sister and mother to remain in poverty, while he slept on silk sheets and had a full stomach every night. He even allowed the woman he love die...
No more, he cursed himself. No more being pitiful, no more weakness, no more failing.
"Bring her back."
Jinu all but demanded. The king only laughed. "You ask so much from me Jinu, and you've yet to make good on your end of our deal. Why should I do this for you?" Asked the king.
Jinu's burning gaze could rival endless flames of the king himself. "I don't care what I have to do. Anything, I will do anything at all if it means she will live again. If I could I would give my life, my soul to you again."
The Demon King hummed before speaking. "I tell you what. Since you have indeed been a loyal soul of mine, I will cut you a new deal."
Jinu's chest sparks to life with hope, even if he knew better than to hope in a place like this. He waited with bated breath as the king continued.
"If you can beat my game, I will bring her back. Her soul will be split into five separate pieces. Until you can make her soul whole again, she will be doomed to an endless cycle of death."
Jinu stared at the king in disbelief. "What...What do you mean? What is the point of doing this?"
The king chuckled darkly. "Did you really expect me to make this easy for you Jinu? You're asking quite a lot of me, I don't resurrect souls for fun you know. It's a demanding process, after all."
Jinu fell silent, his mind raced for a solution, or a way around this twisted game of his.
"What do you say Jinu? Do we have a deal?"
Jinu was pitiful indeed. Selfishness and greed ate away at what little good was left in him. He knew the consequences that would come with accepting this deal and yet...
"Deal"
He couldn't let her go...
By the end of Jinu's story, Y/n was left in stunned silence. She almost couldn't believe what she was being told. She brought a shaky hand to her soulmate mark, as a wild swarm of emotions buzzed about in her chest.
But above anything else, she felt anger.
"So you're telling me...the entire reason I have this mark, and tied to a bunch of demons...is because of you?" Her voice trembled slightly as she tried to keep her temper at bay. Before Jinu could even begin to explain himself any further, she continued.
"Do you have any idea what I've been through because of this stupid mark? My own mom looks at me like I'm some sort of...mistake! Like there's something wrong with me! And it turns out, there is! All thanks to you!"
"There is nothing wrong with you!" Jinu tried. "Nothing at all. You're perfect, every part of you is. That mark, all it means is-"
"Is that I'm doomed to die and being reborn over and over again." Y/n said lowly. Her words were like a cold ice pick being jabbed through Jinu's heart. He knew what she said was right. If it weren't for him she wouldn't be in this mess.
"Y/n, please. If the bond is formed, you'll be saved. You won't ever have to experience death ever again. You'll be safe." Jinu tells her, taking her hands in his own. Y/n looked at him as if he had just spoken the most insane sentence someone could speak. And really, he has.
"I don't know what's worse." Y/n laughed bitterly. "Forgetting what it was like to live an entire life before this, or knowing I'm gonna die and have it happen all over again."
Jinu sighed, his thumb gently brushing over the top of her hand. "I didn't tell you this to make you feel worse." He tells her gently. "And I'm not going to force you to make any sort of decisions right now. And...if you decide to not accept the bond, I'll wait for you. I always have waited. If this isn't the right time...then I'll wait until it is."
Y/n wanted to hate him for all this, a part of her did. But another part felt for him, even if it seemed crazy to. Even if it was her who loved him before, she wasn't the same person as she was then. She had her own feelings, her own mind, her own life.
And none of it involved Jinu or the other Saja Boys.
Clearly Jinu loved her, every version of her. She could tell his intentions were good, if flawed.
"How could I love you if I don't know you?" Y/n asked. The bond wouldn't secure itself. And Y/n was working with limited time, perhaps even more limited than before now...
"You could know me, all of us." Said Jinu. "If you'd give us another chance?"
"My mother would kill me." Y/n murmured. Jinu responded quickly. "We'd protect you."
"The girls would hate me." Y/n sighed.
"You don't need them." Jinu said darkly. "If they can't accept you, look past who we are for your well being, then you don't need them."
"But they're like my family." Y/n tells him. "I've known them for as long as I could remember. Especially Rumi, she's basically my sister." Jinu's intense gaze meets hers.
"Has she told you about her little secret?" He asked. Y/n furrowed her brows. "Her...secret?"
"Her demon patterns." Said Jinu, catching Y/n off guard. "H-How do you know about-"
"Found out by accident." Jinu cuts her short. "If she has something to say about all this, considering who her parents were, then she's one hell of a hypocrite."
Y/n scoffed. "Her father was the reason her mother died. I highly doubt Rumi would want the same to happen to me. If that's hypocritical of her then, sure."
"Do you really think we'd do the same to you?" Jinu asked, his hands moving down to grasp at Y/n's waist, causing her to gasp. "We'd sooner throw ourselves into Gwi-Ma's flames, than to so much as put a scratch on you. We love you." There was a light growl to his voice as he finished, but his words still held true.
Y/n tensed up, she swallowed a lump in her throat before speaking. "I'll see for myself."
And that was all the permission Jinu needed. In that very moment, Jinu swore that this would be the last time he'd ever watch her die. The last time she would ever suffer because of him.
The bond would be secured...even if it kills him...
It was like gasoline to an already raging fire. Y/n's loose acceptance gave way to the rest of the boys trying their hand at "wooing" her. However, they kept their word, or more like Abby made them keep their word, and allowed Jinu to continue seeing Y/n first.
It was an...awkward courting to say the least. Y/n was Jinu's only love, and it's been over four hundred years since he's been with her last. He's never so much as glanced at another woman. And dating was much more different today than it was when he was a human all those years ago.
To Jinu it was...ridiculously easy to find a partner now. Well. A casual one to say the least. When he was alive, it was a whole ordeal to meet a potential partner. And almost always, it ends in marriage.
But while Jinu was stressing about how to properly court Y/n, her mind was elsewhere.
Mostly worrying about being caught. Jinu always made sure Huntrix was away whenever he was around. And after practically forcing Jinu to keep the others from badly injuring, or god forbid, killing the girls, she reluctantly agreed to entertain his attempts at winning her over.
To Y/n's surprise, Jinu was...actually pleasant to be around. He was a nice conversationalist. As much as he loved to hear Y/n speak, he could keep a conversation going. He would even recall times of four hundred years ago. Y/n enjoyed hearing about it, and how things were before the modern era.
However, he never talked about himself, despite Y/n's asking. Whenever he brought up his life, he always kept it vague. All she knew is that he was a poor man, who played the bipa on the streets to provide for his sister and mother.
One day, Y/n asked how they met. She didn't miss the pain in Jinu's eyes as he told the story...
Y/n came across him one evening when Jinu was playing for whatever money he could get. She, unlike many, actually stopped to listen. By the end of it, she applaud, as if hearing a gran sweep of professional music. From there, the two grew closer.
Being from the same poor village where Jinu grew up, Y/n would frequently visit him. The two would go on walks together, spend hours talking about nothing in particular, and just enjoy each other's company.
The two eventually fell in love, and had plans to marry soon. But fate was cruel, and sickness told hold of Y/n. Death loomed over her, it's cold grip relentless.
Try as Jinu might, nothing he could do would be enough to save her. That, along with the added stress of trying to keep his own family fed and healthy, only send him spiraling further.
His mind filled with doubt, constantly feeling as if he was failing the ones he loved. He wasn't enough to keep them all safe, he would never be enough.
So...he made a deal.
A deal with a true monster, one who spoke of promise, who's words were like honey and silk to the desperate.
And Jinu was indeed very desperate...
But even after making that deal, it wasn't enough. His family suffered as he prospered, and Y/n...left to her fate. He was unable to save any of them.
Through Gwi-Ma's manipulation, he could make anyone believe anything, if their despair was too great. Jinu's own despair caused him to forget that even in his newfound easy life, he was powerless.
The king he preformed his songs for was a cruel one, who kept Jinu like a prize, a means of entertainment. He was unable to leave the palace, unless he wished to be executed.
Trapped, he had no way to find his mother and sister, and no way to save Y/n...
To this day, Jinu truly believed it was his fault. That his selfishness caused the death of his loved ones. That he chose to take the easy life rather than suffer alongside them.
"They would have forgiven you."
Jinu was taken aback by Y/n's words. "...What?"
Y/n repeats. "They would have forgiven you. Your mother and sister. And...well, I guess I would have too." She tells him, avoiding his gaze. "You had good intentions. You just got lost along the way. I'm sure if you had someone to slap some sense back into you, you would have made better choices."
"Like you?" Jinu smirks. Y/n huffs, unable to hide the smile on her face. "Keep testing me and you'll find out."
"Oh I intend to." Jinu tells her. "That, I promise you."
The Saja Boys' rapidly growing fame began to consume all of Seoul, their faces, their music, it was everywhere. Which meant bad news for Huntrix and the Honmoon. As they lost fans, Saja Boys gained more, and with less fans, meant less unity. And without that unity, the Honmoon would be weakened more and more.
They had to do something about it, they had to put an end to the Saja Boys once and for all. Otherwise everything they've worked so hard to protect will be destroyed.
Y/n was in the Huntrix' penthouse, listening to them plot about how they would take down those boys once and for all. And what better way to run someone's name through the mud, than with a diss track?
Zoey was already working on new lyrics, multiple notebooks worth of them actually. It seems all three were still sore from what happened the last time they encountered those boys.
And it all started with that stupid variety show...
Y/n remembered watching it. The boys were doing various challenges the host had set up for them. The entire time, she couldn't help but feel a confusing mixture of anger and ease by watching them. Mystery's words still hung over her head, causing her mind to fill with doubt.
And yet, she couldn't find the will to hate him or any of the boys for it. If anything, she wanted to be comforted by them. And that made her furious.
The variety show ended as the curtains closed, Y/n turned the TV off and decided to get some sleep. That night she had another strange dream...
This time, she was in an old house, one that matched the other homes in the small village. Only this house laid on the outskirts of that village, isolated. It was dark, the only light coming from an oil lamp.
It gave her a somewhat clear picture of the person laying in the mat beside her. Her hands were wet, looking down she picked up a rag from a small basin of water before placing it over the person's torso.
A low growl escaped them, and a hand shot up to grab at her wrist. Sharp claw pierced her skin, yet she did not falter. She kept the rag pressed firmly at the bleeding wound.
"I know it hurts...But it will be over soon. Then we can forget about this whole mess ok?" Her voice, unlike her steady hands, trembled. "It'll be ok..."
The person's hand grabbed for her wrist, their claws piercing her skin ever so slightly. She couldn't make out what they were saying. Only that their voice sounded desperate, pleading even...
Just then the sound of cracking wood split the silence as front door was kicked in.
What came next was a blur of screams and sobbing. Then...Y/n woke up.
Y/n sat up from the couch, shaky breaths leaving her. She couldn't make sense of the dream. Only...that the lilac hair belonging to the wounded person in her dream, was far too familiar...
"I can not believe you did that!" Baby growled, ready to tear Mystery's head off. "No only did you fuck it up! But you also caused her to doubt the bond more than she already has!"
"Seriously man." Abby groaned. "What were you thinking?"
"He wasn't thinking at all!" Baby snapped. "I say we forbid Mystery from seeing her again until the situation is resolved. He's just gonna fuck it up again."
"At least I'm actually doing something." Mystery muttered. "The faster we secure the bond, the better."
"If we force it, the bond will shatter." Jinu reminds him. "And no one wants that."
Romance then sighed. "I see my plan was an utter failure. Any more bright ideas?"
"No, you were onto something." Said Jinu. "We just...need to go about it in a better way."
"How are we going to do that?" Asked Baby, still irritated. "She wants nothing to do with us now. Thanks to that idiot." He shoots a glare Mystery's way.
"It's going to be harder now that those hunters know about us." Said Abby. "Not to mention they're like her personal guard dogs."
Jinu paused to think for a moment. "They can't be in two places at once." He murmurs, catching everyone's attention. "And with so many demons around, trying to catch us will be all the more taxing..."
"So you're suggesting one of us goes to Y/n while the others are busy distracting the hunters?" Asked Romance. "Hm...I like it."
Baby scoffed. "I don't care how we do it. But I'm seeing her next."
"Why should you get to see her next?" Romance argues. "You'd scare her off with your sour face."
"Sour face!?" Baby growled.
"See! You're doing it now." Romance points. "You're like a little feral gremlin. It's unattractive."
Baby rolls his eyes as Romance continues. "I'm going next. It might have been a few centuries, but there's no doubt she'll remember my dashing good looks."
“Neither of you are going.” Said Abby firmly. “If anyone should see her it’s Jinu.” He turned to their leader. “He’s the reason we have a real chance of saving Y/n. Besides, he’s more rational than all of us combined, he’ll know how to talk to her.”
Jinu was a bit surprised to hear Abby speaking so highly of him. Demons aren’t known for their kind words, much less fairness.
Thankfully no one else argued. Now, they just have to think of a way to separate Y/n from Huntrix…
Y/n stayed the night at the penthouse in the guest room, while the girls were hard at work with their new song. A part of her wished them luck, hoping that they'd somehow defeat them. But another part of her longed for answers.
Why was she soul bonded to demons? Why so many? Why was she having these strange dreams?
Suddenly there was a knock at the bedroom door, Y/n sat up in her bed just as Rumi spoke from the other side. "Y/n, we have to head out. There was another tear in the Honmoon, but we'll be back soon. Don't go anywhere while we're gone, ok?"
"Ok." Y/n called back. "Stay safe."
With that, the girls left, and Y/n was alone. But not for long...
Unknowingly to her, this was exactly what the Saja's were planning on. And once again her sleep was disturbed. Y/n was alerted to a puff of smoke appearing in the middle of her room, and from it, came Jinu.
Y/n nearly fell out of the bed as she scrambled to get as far away from him as possible. "Stay away!" She yelled, her voice cracking slightly with panic. Jinu held up his hands in surrender. "Calm down, I'm not here to hurt you." He spoke softly. "Just...can we talk?"
"No?" Y/n exclaimed. "No! No we can not talk! Get out of here before I call the girls ba-"
In the blink of an eye, Jinu was inches from her. "I'd rather you not." He said lowly. "There's not need in making a big thing out of this. Please. Just hear me out..."
Y/n's heart pounded in her chest at the closeness, anything she wanted to say wouldn't make it past her lips. It felt as if all the air in her lungs were caught in her throat. And all she could do is wordlessly stare up at him. He took this as sign to continue.
"You've been having strange dreams, haven't you?" He asked. The expression on Y/n's face as all the answer he needed. "There's good reason for that. You're remembering us."
Y/n furrowed her brows. "I don't know you. Any of you." She tried.
"You do." Jinu insisted. "You just can't remember. But that isn't your fault. Reincarnation tends to do that, makes ones memories fade, as their new life begins. That's why you can't remember any of us. But I assure you, every single one of us has shared countless memories with you."
"I...I don't understand..." Y/n murmured. "All of this is just...it's too much. I..."
Jinu carefully lifts his hand, hesitating before reaching to cup Y/n's cheek. To her own surprise, she didn't push him away. If anything, she felt...comforted. It was such a familiar feeling...
"My mark...Am I really fated to you?" Y/n asked, the question aching her chest, fearing the answer he would give.
"You are." Jinu tells her. "To all of us. Please...allow me to explain this. I want this process to be as easy for you as it can be. Let me ease your mind, I hate seeing you so upset."
The way he said it...as if they were close enough to even feel an ounce of care for one another. As if he really loved her...
But from the way he was looking at her, the way his words were steady, no hesitation at all from him. He did. He did love her.
He always has.
But this whole idea of her having a past life, or rather, past lives was all so much to take in. But her dreams were so vivid, so familiar. As if she had really lived through each of them.
Maybe she has...and she just can't remember, like he said.
"Then talk." Y/n sighed. At this point, she just wanted to clear things up. She wanted to stop wondering, she wanted to stop questioning every single thing about herself. About the soulmate's mark. And about them.
"Tell me everything..."
I'm aliveeeee!!!
So sorry for the slow updates. I'm...lowkey going through it-
Just personal things that I don't really wanna get into lol
It's been a little stressful, but I'm hoping things will get a little better soon. I'm working on making things better, that is. It'll take time, but if everything works out, I'll be golden
(golden...get it? like the song...nvm)
Anyway-
Thank you all for putting up with my slow ass, it really means a lot. More chapters coming soon!
