A new challenge ;D
Iâm sure many of you are familiar with the 30 Days of Productivity Challenge. This challenge will allow me to adopt the new habits that Iâm trying to implement in life. For 30 Days, I will post my progress, my good days and bad to be productive and to be accountable to myself. My university semester just finished and exams have started but I do not have any exams this semester as they were all assignment and project based units.
My goals for this challenge:
1. Perform 1 act of self-care each day, whether its a meditation or a facial
2. Be physically active for 30 minutes for each day
3. Study or read for 30 minutes each day, I really want to study a language again so I will focus on French as I studied it for 2 years in high school and never kept up when I graduated.
Day 1 of 30
Soo...my first day of trying to be productive and I think it went pretty well. I left the house after not leaving for 5 days and went to the gym. Exercise goal accomplished. I did 30 minutes of French through the Duolingo app. It is always so fun and definitely brings out the competitiveness in me. Although, I am eager to integrate the reading and writing into forming sentences but baby steps first. My last goal was one act of self care, I think that was achieved through a face massage that I gave myself.Â
I go back to work tomorrow and honestly I don't want to go but itâll be good for me. I am thankful to have a job as some people donât have one. I like my coworkers and tomorrow will be a good day.Â
Same goals for tomorrow:
1. 30 mins physical activity
2. 30 mins French study
3. 1 act of self care
I wish you a great day or night, wherever you are in the world! I am now going to sleep and I am going to have a great day tomorrow as are you! Be positive and take one step at a time.Â
Flick,
xoxo
If you can dream it, you can do it
Walt Disney
Iâm a little lost. So here is me
Hi,Â
I am not very active on social media but want to create a blog that will be my outlet, a hobby that I might enjoy other than endlessly scrolling through Instagram and liking photos of people that I aspire to be in aspects of life. I thought Iâd introduce myself. I am Felicity, a 21 years old university student who is so confused with what to do with life as I am sure many others are as well.
I suffer from anxiety, depression and ADHD. I love cats. I live with 5 of them, 4 girls and 1 boy. I am studying marketing and art industries & management.Â
For this blog, I want to share and create content that represent what I want in life and what can help in life. I want to do it happily and find some more joy and I love living in my head, in my dreams; hence the name - joyfullyelegantdreams.
I really enjoyed Disney as a kid and still do, I recently recalled a quote that has become my mantra: If you can dream it, you can do it, once said by Disneyâs founder, Walt Disney.Â
I hope wherever you are in the world, that you are safe, healthy and coping with life.
Love,
Felicity

now that most of us are at home, i thought this could be useful to the ones who aren't that used to learning material on their own and arenât sure where to start, or which order of steps to follow. happy studying! đ

How to create a study schedule for the holidays
Holidays are just that, holidays. However school and university doesnât always stop for them. Whilst youâre supposed to be relaxing, there is usually a stack of work waiting to be finished before you go back. After a couple of requests, Iâve put together a small guide to setting up (and following) a holiday study schedule. Keep reading to find out more:
Start early - most students (myself included) generally leave all their work until the last few days of the holidays, then they panic about not having enough time. As soon as youâre able, get started with your schedule. The sooner you start, the sooner all your work is done and youâre free to have a study free holiday. Plus starting early means that you will remember things from your last few classes. If youâve been off for two weeks and not thought about school, youâll have to review everything you did before school finish in order to jog your memory!
Write down everything that needs to be done - create a list of everything that you need to finish before you go back to school. I find it easiest to write everything in chronological order and separated by subject. For example, Iâd write âread chapter 2âČ, then âsummarises chapter 2âČ, then âcomplete review questionsâ. This way you can see everything you need to cover in the study plan.
Decide how long it will take - estimate how much time all your to-dos will take - maybe a day to type up your class notes, an afternoon to write an essay or an hour to finish a worksheet you didnât complete. Start fitting in each task around your holiday plans. If you have a spare hour, you could draft that essay you need to write. If youâre spending two hours in the car, print your notes and revise them. Before bed, read the flashcards that you made!
Plan it out - using a calendar or excel, make a schedule for your holiday. It could be daily, weekly, or monthly depending on which way you find it best to plan. Include all the tasks youâd want to complete in that time period. If you get bored easily, break it up into small time periods or change subjects after a few hours! Vary the tasks you need to complete. For instance, no-one wants to spend a day writing essay after essay. Spread them out across a few days and add other small, more fun tasks in between. Here is a study schedule I created which you can download and print! Here is an example of how to fill it out. Design it to what suits you the best, illustrate it or highlight it! Make it something you want to follow.
Take charge of improving your productivity - By planning out your time and setting up a schedule youâre attempting to improve your productivity. Since it is the holidays you donât want to be spending hours on end finishing work or revising. Find ways to keep yourself accountable for your time. Applications such as Forest or RescueTime are great for helping you stay focused. I also created a post with 10 small tips to improve your productivity. Have a read and try to apply some of them to your studying!
Stick with it - the best way to actually follow your study plan is by being motivated to use it. Put it in a place you see often, for instance near your bed or above your desk. Each morning, see what you need to do and try to get it done. Reward yourself for completing the tasks you need to and cross them off your schedule. However, donât be afraid to make changes to it. If you can get something do sooner, go ahead but if you miss a day, donât fret. Either reprint or retype your schedule with new plan!
Take time out - remember that it is your holiday and you donât need to work 24/7. Have a break, have ten. Take a day to binge watch your favourite show or read that book youâve wanted too. Donât feel bad about having some down time, you deserve it!Â
I hope this helps and you have a lovely holiday! Enjoy the printable I added into the post as well. If you use it, please tag me in any photo you upload! x

50 Reasons Why You Should Study
Need motivation?
To get an education.Â
To earn a degree. There are barely any jobs that offer positions to people without a degree, or are on the path of obtaining one.
To prove people wrong. That science teacher that said youâll never make it in the medical field? Make him eat his words.Â
To prove yourself wrong. Every student has doubts on whether or not they can be good enough in the classroom. Prove yourself wrong, and always be better than you were yesterday.Â
This is a privilege. Regardless of how much you believe that you HAVE to do this, to some extend you donât. Realize that you have the privilege of an education even being an option for you.
Take advantage of what youâre capable of. Donât waste a perfectly intelligent mind.Â
More money. That degree can do wonderful things to your bank account in the future.Â
Itâs interesting. Studying can get pretty boring, but there are always those topics that spark your curiosity and motivate you to learn more.
Itâs attractive. Not everyone cares for someone who is academically gifted, but a partner who is eager to learn makes me eager to take my pants off.
Itâs useful. That random fact that you read in a random textbook can stick with you and really end up helping you out one day.
Itâs fun to know useless shit sometimes.
To make your parents proud. This is one of the main reasons I study. My parents have always been aware of my capabilities and have pushed me to be academically better every year. They know I have big dreams, and I just want to achieve them so they can know that their child made it.
To make myself proud. This goes along with number four. Knowing that you accomplished something, however small or big the thing may be, is a huge self-esteem booster.
To be independent. Thereâs nothing quite like knowing that you donât need someone elseâs job, degree, intelligence, or presence to make you successful.
To pursue your passion.Â
To gain knowledge. Whether its in your field, or a completely different one, being knowledgeable is just downright fun.
People will look up to you. Your siblings, your best friends, and your classmates may see you consistently studying, and it could motivate them to do the same.Â
To make a name for yourself. âOh yeah, (insert name here), I know them. Arenât they like really successful now?â
To become your own role model.
To be able to pay off your student loans.
Because the long nights and excessive coffee will all be worth it. Even if it doesnât seem like it now.Â
To exercise your brain. Your brain is just like a muscle, and like the body it needs to be exercised.Â
To improve your hippocampus. Your hippocamus is responsible for memory, and if you study your memorization will become significantly better.
To not waste time doing useless stuff.Â
Because stationary is amazing. I could spend a whole paycheck on just pens.
Because notes are actually all so pretty.Â
To be productive. I used to spend a lot of time on social media, and although I still do, the amount of time I spend studying and getting stuff done has definitely increased.
So classes will be easier.Â
So tests will be easier.
To impress your professors. Get those letters of recommendation!Â
So the anxiety of getting a bad grade is sufficiently decreased. I constantly worry about my grades, but studying has helped me not worry so much.
Because coffee exists.Â
There is no other atmosphere quite like the inside of a library.Â
So you wonât have to retake a class. Failing a prerequisite for your major really sucks, so maybe try not failing the first time around. This also saves you a lot of money because you wonât have to pay for the class again.Â
Finals week wonât suck as bad. Youâll be used to studying so when finals week comes around it wont nearly be as stressful as for those students who are now opening a textbook.Â
You wonât go to as many college parties. Donât get me wrong, I am all for socializing and having fun, but a lot can go wrong at a college party very quickly. And thereâs no better way to prevent that, than just not going to the party cause youâre reading your economics textbook.Â
Youâll get used to FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. Every teenagers nightmare. Eventually, youâll get used to the feeling.Â
Youâll be getting the most out of your college experience. Youâre paying for these classes. Might as well try your best to pass.Â
Youâll get used to not getting enough sleep. So, if you decide to go to grad school youâll have that department covered.Â
Thereâs really good study music out there.Â
I guarantee there will be at least 5 places on campus, or around you that are perfect for studying, and youâll want to go there everyday.Â
Youâll become a pro at writing essays, or lab reports.
Youâll learn fairly quickly that study groups rarely work.Â
Youâll make a lot of friends that are just as passionate about studying as you are. And you will cherish them.Â
Beauty and Brains. Donât you want to fit that description?Â
Thousands of students before you have done it, so you can too.Â
You can run a studyblr. Arenât they the cutest?Â
You get really good at time management.Â
Sleep becomes 5x more satisfactory after a night of studying.
Because you want to. Thereâs no better motivation for studying, than the motivation that comes from within.Â
I finally got out of the house and am able to get some work done! (ft. this weekâs spread!)
A reminder for the girls with big plans
To all the girls with big dreams, who have been told that they are âtoo preoccupied with successâ, or that they are âtoo selfishâ or âtoo ambitiousâ - do not listen to the people who speak those words. If you love something that much, and will pursue it to the ends of the earth, do not give it up for anyone. Hold it close to your heart and understand that you are not obligated to dim your sparkle for anybody. In your life, there will always be people who tell you that you are too much or too little. They will say a woman is too assertive, or too reserved. They will say she feels too little or too much, that ambition is selfish. They may even be hurt or offended that you do not think the same. Yet at the end of the day, know in your heart that you are the only one who will ever know whether you are truly enough and that is whatâs important. Go out there and smash the glass ceiling to pieces.

These ones took a while but I think it was worthwhile. Thanks for waiting.

STUDY PLAN
I personally use one page per subject, but you can use it however you like. For the âprepâ, âafter classâ, âweekly reviewâ and âmonthly reviewâ box, I tick those boxes after I have done those (e.g. prepared for class / reviewed after class etc.) for that particular topic. This can help me to keep track of my progress. You can download it here.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE
I have always talked about making a weekly study timetable so that you can get used to the study routine and stick to it. Here is the printable I use for planning my weekly schedule. If you would like to have a word (.docx) version of it (for merging the boxes for example) you can message me and I will send it to you. Anyways, you can download it here.
MONTHLY GOALS PAGE
This is a page for you to write down your monthly goals. I personally would write down the tests/exams I know I will be having that month and also my desired/predicted grades. You can download it here.
Click here for more printables (strive-for-da-best). If you have any ideas or recommendations, I will be happy to post a new version or send a personal copy to you! x

University Tips (non-conventional)
If these help anyone, great!
Wear sports bras/bralettes to lectures instead of the ones with a buckle at the back. They tend to poke and prod your back after a while if youâre leaning back. Sports bras donât.
Set your timetable as your phone background for the first few weeks. Use this method for no. 6 too if you can be bothered.Â
Lay a towel on your bed a few days before your period is due. If you leak on a towel you can just wash it or throw it away. Easier than washing and changing the sheets.
When youâre in a lecture taking notes on a laptop remember to turn down the brightness on your screen, especially if the lecturer has dimmed the lights. Otherwise youâll annoy others and drain your battery.Â
Save your recordings at every given break instead of making one continuous one through pausing. Sometimes files are too large to save and you donât want to risk losing the entire lecture recording. Save as you go along.
If you need to remember something (e.g. a library book, USB, locker key..) write it on a post-it note and stick it on your shoes before you sleep. Make sure theyâre the shoes you intend to wear the next day!
Donât shoot me: if you have left an assignment really late, stay up as long as you can completing it (yes, that means an all-nighter may be needed). Sleep as soon as youâve handed it in.Â
If you use tech in a lecture e.g. phone for recording or electronic notetaking on your laptop, then mess around with it before uni begins. Know what buttons to press and when, otherwise youâll mess up your notes and annoy others, with your excessive clicking.Â
Always, always, ALWAYS carry a plastic bag/carrier bag. You might need to make a trip to the library, drink may spill in your bag so youâll need an alternative or you may not be able to dispose of a pad/tampon until you get back home. Seriously, just carry one. Â
Find out where coursework/assignment are submitted within your first week on campus. Ask admin how the procedure works and make sure you know it inside out.Â
Iâll update this list as things come to me. I hope it helps, this is all my opinion, sorry.Â
