As an Australian I can inform you that ‘She’ll be right’ is a very frequently used Australian/New Zealand slang phrase that basically means that anything that’s causing you distress or something going wrong, will be alright. Like ‘don’t panic, mate, she’ll be right’.

hey if you're latinx you're not obligated to be fluent in Spanish whatsoever

connecting with our culture and history through language is great! being bilingual is beautiful and a valuable skill! and yes, there is pride in knowing spanish considering all the obstacles we face. BUT while it’s hard to see sometimes, speaking perfect spanish ISN’T a requirement to being latinx.

our families and communities may judge us and make fun of us, but they’re wrong to do that. they underestimate the impact assimilation has in all latinx people.

sometimes we are denied our chances from learning our native languages by our own families. sometimes we are punished for even speaking spanish in schools! sometimes your family is the only latinx family in a ten mile radius. sometimes, we are just not into it. this is all real and happens to so many of us.

regardless, everyone’s exposure to our languages and culture is different, and it does have an impact on how much we know, and it’s not our faults!

not knowing spanish doesn’t make you any less latinx whatsoever. you’re one hundred percent latinx, you’re just as latinx as your fluent friends and family. don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, and try to remember the next time you’re feeling bad from stumbling through your spanish again. it’s ok and you’re not alone!

ppl who think that saying “I love you” to someone a lot makes it lose it’s meaning are so boring literally what could make you think that? if someone tells you they love you like 3 times in an hour it means that 3 separate times they were sitting there and thinking about you and how wonderful you are like. smh. say I love you to everyone that you love as often as possible bc sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are people who love you
