Master Post
OK, so you guys asked, and I delivered, this is the master page with all of my stories in chronological order starting at the bottom and going up. Some of them include flashbacks, and so are not “technically” in order, but it was the best I could do. I will not write in order because the ideas do not come in order, but I will put them in their general place on this page when they are done, so I hope this helps :)
Also recent development is that I have adapted the series into a book that I will be writing on the side. The link to that is right below if you are interested in reading. The title is Empyrean Iris.

When I was in middle school, I had this kind of “phase” about music lyrics, that probably looked like some kind of weird elitism from outside. Basically, I decided I only liked songs with well-written, meaningful lyrics. Not inherently bad, and those kind of lyrics still have my preference to this day - the problem was, I deemed “bad” any song that didn’t feet my criteria, and kinda despised those?
Funnily enough, what got me out of this phase was…anime songs. Sure, they generally have a context or tell a story, but it’s not necessarily deep or as elegant as what I listen to in languages I’m more fluent in. Sometimes I didn’t even look at the lyrics and just listened to the song.
And I now believe my initial issue with song lyrics was…wait for it…romance. I only liked “meaningful” and “elegant” lyrics because, outside of those kinds of lyrics, most songs are about romance. Which I dislike and find boring of course. I couldn’t relate to those songs, regardless of their potential quality (I still, to this day, believe a lot or “love songs” are boring and not great, even outside of my dislike for romance, but that’s another topic) and they made me feel bad, alienated. So, I decided to use the lyrics quality as an excuse *not* to listen nor like romance songs.
I believe it was a bit performative on my part - I just didn’t want to be associated with anything even remotely romantic, and wanting “meaningful and elegantly-written songs” helped me with that. Romance songs are basic and a dime a dozen, so they couldn’t fit my criteria for likable songs.
Did anyone else go through something similar? Not necessarily with music even but. I wanna know if this is a common aro (/romance repulsed) experience or if I was just a weird ass kid haha
[ID: Gru’s plan meme. Gru gives a presentation. The first slide says “I hear someone mention the word “asexual””. The second slide says “I start listening”. The third and fourth slides say “They’re talking about biology”. Gru looks disappointedly at the fourth panel. End ID]
When my bio teacher mentioned asexual reproduction, the girl behind me said "isn't that when you're not into anyone?" and half the class turned and stared at me knowingly
🌹’s Ace Comic Recs
Jughead
If you are looking for a fun, silly, read I cannot recommend Jughead (2015) more! Written by Chip Zdarsky, and Ryan North you can see Jughead be a pirate, be a spy, hang out with a burger lady.
The Wicked and Divine
I love this series but it is not for the faint of heart. There’s a lot of death, and violence and our heroes constantly being in trouble. With that said, it’s an amazing series that has tons of diversity. The main characters are gods incarnate so if you love mythology be sure to check it out!
Moonlighters
Another very cute series. Currently online only, but another light fun read about a group of werewolves who solve monsters problems like locating their missing cats
The Once And Future Queen
I learned about this comic by quote RT-ing one of the authors with my shock that there was an asexual character and we’ve been friendly since. King Arthur is reimagined as a 21st-century multi-ethnic teen girl, and Lancelot is a black asexual. It’s lighter then Wicked and Divine, but definitely a fighting/adventure story. I’m trying to get a Volume 2 so ask your library for it if can’t afford a copy of your own!!
For a complete list of aces in comics, check out our master list!
Moonlighters is definitely in print now! I work at a library and we have a copy

Hey! So out of all the ace literature I've read the protagonist is always seems to be a male so I was wondering if you knew any good books with female main characters? Or non binary characters?
Oh! I know some really great ones!
Rose’s Ace Lady Rec List#AceWeek Day 2!
Young Adult Books:
Tash Hearts Tolstoy: I personally didn’t get into this book because I think it’s because I’m aging out of the target demographic. As a teenager, I think I would have ADORED this book so I always give it a mention.
Let’s Talk About Love:This book brings me a lot of joy. The publisher was like let’s put ace flag colors on the cover. It features a fluffy college story, heavy and honest ace struggles, a black ace lead and a man of color as the love interest. Probably my favorite YA for aces.
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy:While technically a book two, this book alone is great and even better if you read the very mlm first book featuring her brother. Felicity is in both, and if you want an aro ace, absolutely pick this gem up.
The Birds, The Bees, And You and Me: I haven’t actually read this book, but it’s the only YA book maybe the only novel I know that has multiple ace flags on the cover. That’s so wild to me. Anyways, this book looks really interesting and while the main character isn’t ace like the last ones, it’s own voices and again flags!
Technically, You Started It:I l-o-v-e this book. It’s written like a series of texts between two characters and it’s so well done and unique. I actually wrote a review on it here.
New Adult / Adult:
Soft on Soft: I think this book is the hashtag of like #FatGirlsInLove or something similar, forgive me. It’s fluffy, it’s written by an ace of color about aces so like high marks there.
The only aces in this genre that are women also tend to be romance so I’m less familiar with them. There’s probably another dozen more. So really do check out our database of them.
In this age range you do have my books which both have non-binary aces but this I made this post female-heavy I’m just not going to include them here. Also in the database though.
Other:
Unburied Fables:This is a charity anthology with tons of stories, several have ace women of different romance leanings all finding a happily ever after.
Borderlands: Maya from this video game is ace. It’s not a ton of like on-screen ace content but I think it’s awesome that it was written by an ace and includes an ace.
The Movement:Trevor from this teenage superhero comic is ace, which is pretty cool because it’s an author is a bigger name in the industry so likely a good jumping point if you want to try this style of comic.
Moonlighters:This series is a funny like creature hunting comic, Sue is a fat ace whose just great I wish I could have this in the paperback forum but when I read it was only digital but sooooo worth supporting so we all can have more of it.
Princeless: Raven: The Pirate Princess:This comic has an ace of color and another series that like needs support since it’s still going. It’s about a bunch of women being pirates.
Immoral Code by Lillian Clark and Switch Back by Danika Stone are both YA books with female aroace protags.
Immoral Code is a heist book involving hacking, road trips, and teen fear of university. There's 5 protags with a rotating 1st person POV and one of the them is a badass artsy aroace named Reese. It was the first book I read with an actual aroace character and it actually uses the words "aroace" "aphobia" and "allo". The author herself isn't a-spec, but she consulted with ppl who are, and Reese's voice sounds so real and relatable.
Switch Back was special to me because it's Canadian, and Canadian books are rare enough already, never mind a Canadian book with an aroace protag. It's about a girl named Vale and her friend (I forget his name) who go on a backcountry camping trip in the mountains with their school and get separated from the group. A classic wilderness survival story, very Hachet-like. It's mostly focused on the survival plot, but you can really see their friendship get stronger throughout the book and it's just so refreshing to see a strong platonic relationship between a girl and boy without worrying about it turning romantic. Also, platonic cuddles for warmth, even though Vale is usually touch-adverse.

New Release: HUMAN ENOUGH
When Noah Lau joined the Vampire Hunters Association, seeking justice for his parents’ deaths, he didn’t anticipate ending up imprisoned in the house of the vampire he was supposed to kill—and he definitely didn’t anticipate falling for that vampire’s lover.
Six months later, Noah’s life has gotten significantly more complicated. On top of being autistic in a world that doesn’t try to understand him, he still hunts vampires for a living…while dating a vampire himself. Awkward. Yet Jordan Cross is sweet and kind, and after braving their inner demons and Jordan’s vicious partner together, Noah wouldn’t trade him for the world.
But when one of Jordan’s vampire friends goes missing and Noah’s new boss at the VHA becomes suspicious about some of his recent cases, what starts off as a routine paperwork check soon leads Noah to a sinister conspiracy. As he investigates, he and Jordan get sucked into a deadly web of intrigue that will test the limits of their relationship—and possibly break them. After all, in a world where vampires feed on humans and humans fear vampires, can a vampire and a vampire hunter truly find a happy ending together?
Starring:

But doesn't someone else have to lose $20 for that to happen?

and some bonus pictures of aces at pride!
in conclusion, dont let anyone on this dumb hellsite tell you you’re not lgbt. nobody in the real world cares. the discourse only exists on tumblr. so go out there and be you’re ace ass self and dont worry about the bullshit on this site.
Ever since I found out that the UNITED NATIONS include asexuals (and aromantics!) I don’t give a shit about the discourse™ on this hellsite anymore

GOOD FOR Y'ALL I’M SO PROUD
Hi, my sister is planning to "sneak" me out to the next pride parade that happens in Texas, but I don't know what to expect and I'm just scared and anxious and I was hoping you could tell me what to expect if you don't mind.... Also I've heard of aces being told they weren't LGBT and weren't accepted... will that happen to me at pride?
I’ve never had an exclusionist experience at pride. When we see exclusionists of some sort (such as TERFS), the vast majority of the lgbt+ community rallies against them. They stand side-by-side with me, who’s wearing ace flag buttons and holding an ace flag.
- Fae
I actually bought my ace flag AT pride, from the PRIDE COMMITTEE ITSELF. You'll be accepted, trust me
