What are you even supposed to do after sex?
Get food and then go again duh
Order the food, go again while you wait. Eat and then go again.
Okay here’s the thing:
- If you don’t like oatmeal with almond butter, don’t eat it
- If you don’t like running, don’t run
- If weight lifting isn’t your thing, that’s okay
- If you can’t afford Gymshark, Alphalete, Lulu Lemon, that’s cool too. Use what you have.
Do not let social media convince you that there is a specific way to be healthy and fit. I get caught up in it myself. I have the self-talk of “I should be doing that specific workout because she is” or “my mile-splits are x mins off of hers, I’m not a real runner.” There’s nothing wrong with seeking guidance and inspiration but at the end of the day you should make your fitness journey about you what works best for you. Our bodies are different, our mindsets are different, our preferences are different. Different doesn’t equal wrong. Do your thing.
What to do when you slip up on your diet
1. Take a deep breath
2. Forgive yourself
3. Try again
- you are more than the mistakes you’ve made
Surrender Squats and Walking Planks
If I have learned one thing from my kickboxing classes, it's that my upper body has needed some serious amount of work. So all I've been doing is
I think it's been working, because I feel like I'm able to push myself even harder these days. I am even hitting my classes twice a day now.
To all of my fitblrs... what do you do to combat some late night cravings? I tend to find myself giving in to a late night craving here or there and it's getting a little difficult to not start to feel defeated. Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
just think about how grateful your future self will be if you keep going. how glad you will be for having worked so hard. it will all be worth it.
Thursday morning gym check-in 💪🏾☑️
Wednesday Check-in
It's been a rollercoaster of the past few days. I found myself giving into a really bad craving of chips late Monday night, then tried to overcorrect myself with a long run, and then yogurt, and that's when I realized exactly the negative behavior I was exhibiting and just calmed down, and put myself back on track.
I'm literally sitting on my couch dripping from the intense kickboxing class I just finished and I feel amazing. Rewarded myself with one of the new Power Breakfast Sandwiches from Dunkin (mostly because I don't have food in my house at the moment, and I would have probably made something with less healthy ingredients). I did my measurements, and weighed myself, and y'all... There's been progress!!!
I'm down 2+ lbs from my Starting Weight, and it feels GOOOOOD. From my original plan, I am keeping up with kickboxing 3x a week, however I have not been able to steadily hit a run at the same rate, so I'm thinking I'm going to adjust for a longer run 1-2 times a week, and being more continuously active every day (walking the dog, walking to class, more in home workouts).
For those of you looking for a workout/running app I HIGHLY recommend Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club. They continuously have different workouts for you to try, and you can do different kinds of runs with a guided coach in your ear....plus, they do send you little reminders when you have been slacking a little. (If you download the app(s), DM me, so we can be friends!)

3000 Squats January update
Hello Squat Squad!
1 week down, only 3,5 to go! How is everyone doing? Staying accountable makes it easier to stick to goals so don’t be shy and share your progress (don’t forget to tag Squat Squad 2019).
Here’s my progress so far
I’m so happy to see the daily average needed to achieve this goal to drop from 100 to 90.
Pro tip: do 10-20 squats each time you go to the bathroom. If you drink as much water as I do, you won’t even notice how those add up. It will also help to speed up your heart rate a little during the day (which I really need because I sit for 8-9 hours at my desk at work)

P.s. let me know if you are not doing the challenge so I don’t spam you with tags
You're totally right! The first few days were definitely a little difficult to walk. Honestly, I think I love feeling sore.... Is that problematic? Naaaahhhh
Anyways, I do 50 when I just wake up, and 50 when I am going to bed, and then for about every hour I'm either working or binge watching Netflix/Prime/Hulu I do 10 squats.
I think I'm going to start adding some push ups to this mix, because I know that I definitely need to start figuring out more ways to implement my upper body.
Jan 1st - 125
Jan 2nd - 150
Jan 3rd - 150
Jan 4th - 175
Jan 5th - 200 (watched a little too much Netflix)
Jan 6th - 70 & counting
Total= 870 and counting
Recovery Time
So yesterday, I did two short runs, and went to my first kickboxing class. Needless to say, I am so sore. I think my body decided that today will be a recovery day.
Went for a walk with the pooch for lunch, and I'm aso doing a six minute plank workout from NTC. I will do my first set of progress photos and official weigh in next Wednesday. I'm trying not to weigh myself every day because be it's not really going to change much on a daily basis.
However @fromfattolessfat 's Squat Tribe challenge is definitely starting to get harder. I'm doing 150 a day and it's like my ass and thighs are just continuously sore 🤣🤣🤣. But I know the results will show in the end.
How are you spending your Saturday?
Let's pretend this gif is me doing kickboxing. 💪🏾💪🏾
Am I the only one who thinks that these 'thinspiration' posts should not be considered as a fitness journey?
I'm sorry, but eating a square of cheese, and two cherry tomatoes for the entire day, and then working out for an hour or two is not considered healthy in the slightest, and is definitely promoting eating disorders.
DID WE NOT LEARN FROM THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA?!?!? You will get suck, get hit by a car and then end up in the hospital and miss Paris fashion week. Lol jk, but you get the gist. I just see these posts talking about 'oh! Look at my progress!' and these girls are slowly killing themselves!
I know we all want to lose weight, but is it really worth it if you're making yourself miserable in the process?

7 Tried And Tested Tips For Weight Loss
The timing of this is funny seeing how I woke up craving some Oreos, and had to convince myself not to. Definitely was difficult, but somehow, my body being sore and me too lazy to move from my bed definitely helped me choose against the Oreos. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Slow and Steady
Didn't get to go for a run this morning because my sister was running late and I needed to take her to school instead. But I didn't let it stop me, and went for a mile run after work, and crushed a 10minute intense ab workout.
Feels good to be moving about and being active like this.
Squat Count: 125/3,000
Starting Weight: 185.7 LBS
Current Weight: 183.9 LBS
Goal Weight: 156 LBS
Earlier this week I decided to add an old all I used to using to keep up with runs, and workouts... Definitely a motivator to see how long it's been since I was so heavily invested in my health.
It's been a week of preparation, because I know if I start jumping into some long intense runs, I'm not going to do well. So I've been don't some at home workouts and pretty much putting together a plan. I've decided that I'm going to run 2-3x a week (short runs), alongside a 60 minute kickboxing class 3-4x a week. This of course coupled with the occasional at home workouts and @fromfattolessfat 's Squat Tribe I may be looking at a good fitness regimen.
Telling my very Haitian mother that I was going back to clean eating was very difficult, because I know I'm going to be missing some of my favorite dishes... I know full well that I can reward myself from time to time, but now is not the time.
The goal is to feel sexy again, and love the body I'm in. According to the health professionals, that weight is going to be at 156lbs. It's about 26 pounds, but it's definitely going to be a difficult set of weight to work off. (Anyone know any good chest workouts? - My 34H boobs will definitely be the hardest)
Anyways, I'm off for a run, because this app definitely put things in perspective.
