Guys I just finished ep 180 and HSJSJSJSJSEHJDBHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEEHHE THEY ARE SO CUTE AND IN LOVE AND AAAAAAHHHHHHH I LOVE THEM!!!

I am so scared that something terrible is going to happen, like Scelaca is actually Mr. Spider and eats one of my boys while they're sleeping or something equally horrible, I'm so wary of any joy and love in my sadness and horror podcast.

The pics are a little weird cuz my phone camera tends to oversaturate when I have my lamp on (it's tinted yellow so all of the photos in my room are orange) so I had to turn off the lights and use the flash

It's still a wip (obviously lol) and it's a little messy but I'm really proud of what I have so far, especially since this is my first time using gouache for something this big (or anything besides a few experiments in my sketchbook really).

I would love to get some tips from people who are better at gouache than I am (specifically on how to do storm clouds and fog, idk how to do that) or just anything lol!

Just wanted to talk about how cool tma is lol! I apologize if this is a little disorganized, it's mostly me vomiting my thoughts out

⚠️Note: I HAVE NOT FINISHED YET, NO SPOILERS PAST 176 PLS!! ⚠️

The thing I really like about Tma is how grey it is. It asks the questions of what does it mean to be human? what constitutes good and evil/what even is the difference? Do the ends justify the means, even if the means are genuinely horrific, and does that make you evil? Is it evil if your actions are in the name of survival? Basically none of the characters in tma are good people, they all do awful things, or things that can easily be Interpreted as awful, however, they aren't necessarily in the wrong.

Even with the fears, are they genuinely evil, or are they only evil because they exist of off human terror? If there was a fear god that fed off of the agony and horror that an ant or a fly feels, is that evil, or is it only evil when it's against us? To try and avoid the risk of being misunderstood, I'm not suggesting the apocalypse and horrible gods that feast on our suffering is a good thing, I'm just saying it's something to think about, because there is no definite answer.

Is Jon a bad person for needing the fear of other people to live? Is he inherently a bad person if in his feeding results in the further suffering of people, is it bad that his continued life provides more suffering, and is it an evil and selfish action for him to want to keep living?

Daisy has killed dozens of people, in the name of justice sure, but to my understanding, more than a few of them were innocent, or unwilling/unknowing pawns to a game they didn't know that they were apart of. Is Daisy's regret and starvation enough to make up for it?

Is Martin a bad person for his thirst for revenge, does his lack of being able to see the grey areas of their situation make him bad? What about his unintentional dehumanization of Jon through wanting him to be a killing machine despite the fact that killing the avatars does little to absolutely nothing? Was he a willing factor in Lukas's plan and does his participation make him bad?

What about Gertrude? Are the things she's done evil, or are they okay because it was for the greater survival of the world? Does it change because her preparations turned out to be for nothing?

On a more real life note and the extinction: Is everyone who doesn't actively participate in the prevention of the end of the world a bad person? Yes in a lot of apocalypse scenarios that the extinction deals with it's the upper echelons of society that causes the problems, however are the cogs in the machine (the working class) evil for still turning? Are we evil for having the knowledge of massive systemic issues, and not exercising however miniscule power we have to change it? Or is it okay because we are all trapped? Are we bad for being afraid of the system meant to stomp and kill any and all attempts of revolution/are we evil for being among the masses with our heads down?

There are a dozen more instances of this, but this post is already a wall of text, and my mind is starting to wander lol. I would love to hear everyone else's analysis in the notes!

Tldr: Humans and human emotion and thoughts are complicated and messy, and I adore Tma for being a space for those questions to be asked. And I adore it for its purpose not being to provide answers, but create a space for the audience to come up with the answers themselves, in which there isn't necessarily a right or wrong one, and that's fine. If you all want a post where I talk about what I think the answers are let me know!

First time listening to the Magnus Archives (I'm on ep 33) it's great, I'm loving it and don't get me wrong I love Jon, but also I have no idea why the hell people are shipping him with Martin. Jon is such an ass and he's always throwing shade at Martin. Martain deserves so much better. Like okay, obviously eating peoples fear and causing them to have constant and vivid nightmares for the rest of their life is bad, but FIRST OF ALL

-Daisy being influenced by the hunt involved her actually murdering people, but all we hear from Basira and Meline is "ooohhh but Daisy feels bad about it and is trying not to 🥺🥺" like sure, she wasn't aware of the hunt like Jon is of the eye, but SHES STILL DOING MURDER!!!!!????? HELLO!!???? she's killed probably dozens of people (pls correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember if they ever said an exact number) and it's okay, Jon eats the trauma of 5 people and it's the worst thing imaginable!!!??

Jon does everything in his power to help her, removes the evil bullet, gets stabbed (barely mentions it btw, all we hear from him about it is "I hope Melanie is getting better, I'm glad she's getting therapy") like yeah, I get being pissed at your coworker for surprise tibia surgery when you are sleeping, but I would probably get over it BECAUSE THERE WAS AN EVIL BULLET MAKING ME DO EVIL STUFF!!!??? ALSO she blames Jon entirely for her being there WHEN HE WASN'T IN THE ROOM WHEN SHE WAS HIRED!!!!!!!!!! MARTIN AND TIM (rip king, I hope the kayaking trip is fun) ACTIVELY TRIED TO WARN HER OFF, BUT SHES BITCHING ABOUT IT BEING JONS FAULT!!!!!?????? I'm not saying that what Jon is doing is good, but compared to the others actions, he's positively tame, and it's just really really frustrating hearing Jon get constantly attacked for everything he does, despite actively risking his life to help and save the others (he went into the fucking buried to get Daisy, not even a thank you, or recognition for doing that). I need a fic where Jon finally loses it, and gets some real fucking friends, a hug and good cry with safe people because good god.
