itās fucking wild because one day youāre like i guess iām not dying tragically young and you go to the store and you buy dental floss, ingredients for soup, and a bath mat
itās this sentiment in practice, in day to day.
found this three year old draft buried in my files. is it funny? I don't remember
Honestly, y'all, I'm begging you. Take the time to think and learn for yourself. Even if it's just something casual like knitting or cooking. Exercise your brain. It's important.

oopsie i tripped and spilled my link to archive dot org's downloadable copy of Microsoft office suite for 2007, which features no AI tools and is a powerful word processor that still holds up just fine on windows 10!

writing tip #3765:
just have fun with it idk
I love that thing when people get a little bit tongue-tied and garble what theyāre trying to say so they make a little ābleghā š noise and start over. verbal reset button. hitting the top of the tv to unscramble the signal
āface the truth as it is insteadā disintegrated him
when the lyrics you've been mishearing are more clever than what's actually in the song
love the phrase 'methinks'. me does think. thinketh me do.
Environmental storytelling is my favorite
I told Miyazaki I love the āgratuitous motionā in his films; instead of every movement being dictated by the story, sometimes people will just sit for a moment, or they will sigh, or look in a running stream, or do something extra, not to advance the story but only to give the sense of time and place and who they are.
āWe have a word for that in Japanese,ā he said. āItās called ma. Emptiness. Itās there intentionally.ā
Is that like the āpillow wordsā that separate phrases in Japanese poetry?
āI donāt think itās like the pillow word.ā He clapped his hands three or four times. āThe time in between my clapping is ma. If you just have non-stop action with no breathing space at all, itās just busyness, But if you take a moment, then the tension building in the film can grow into a wider dimension. If you just have constant tension at 80 degrees all the time you just get numb.ā
Which helps explain why Miyazakiās films are more absorbing and involving than the frantic cheerful action in a lot of American animation. I asked him to explain that a little more.
āThe people who make the movies are scared of silence, so they want to paper and plaster it over,ā he said. āTheyāre worried that the audience will get bored. They might go up and get some popcorn.
But just because itās 80 percent intense all the time doesnāt mean the kids are going to bless you with their concentration. What really matters is the underlying emotionsāthat you never let go of those.

in graphic design, itās called whitespace. it gives elements room to breathe, to let the viewerās eye relax and their mind to calm.
This sounds like a shitpost but people should be allowed to be horny. As in, sexuality is just part of life for most people and thereās no reason for consensual sexual behavior to be punished. A celebrity getting ācaughtā at a sex club shouldnāt be a scandal. No one should be fired for having a fetlife profile outside of work. Nudes getting leaked shouldnāt be career-ending. Denying and hiding (consensual) sexual interests doesnāt make anyone more professional, it just makes everyone more repressed. And sterilizing ourselves to be better work drones isnāt productive, itās just creepy. Iād rather my surgeon get absolutely railed on camera and come to work in a good mood, frankly.
Actually why donāt people comment on fanfics anymore?? Itās so sad and disheartening?? Sometimes I think maybe my writing just got shit and then I remember I got comments on stuff I wrote when I was 11 and 12, and no people really just donāt comment anymore :(
(And like yes Iām writing the fanfics more for myself and Iāll keep writing them even if I donāt get comments because I enjoy it and I have āØideas⨠I need out of my head but still!!! )
At this point I think Iād be happy if someone commented āthis is shitā just to know ppl are engaging š
