Something I wish more people understood is that optimism and kindness are a choice.
For some people that choice comes more naturally than others. In some situations that choice is easier to make. But even if you're naturally inclined to be kind and optimistic, there will be times when it's a real struggle to not just wallow in the misery, or to be a petty ass gremlin to someone. When it takes real effort to not just take the easy option, because you know it will not help, or will even make stuff worse in the long run.
On the flip side for those who it doesn't come naturally, who really need to work on it, they still can and often do choose both kindness and optimism. Because no matter the difficulty level, it improves your overall quality of life and that of those around you.
Also, choosing kindness is not faking things. If you do kind things you are a kind person, whether you have to actively chose it or not. There is no difference to those you were kind to whether or not you had to think about the action, or if it just happened automatically. You still treated them kindly, and that is what they'll remember. It will mean more than you might think.
The good news is that it's a muscle you can train. The more you forge those pathways in your brain, the easier they are to walk. Where one day you may find that while you may never be a fully natural optimistic kind person, you can pretty well imitate one, and that's all that matters.
Kindness and optimism are a choice and you always get to choose it.
Why is being in bed so comfy? It's criminal. I refuse to get up. I am one with the blanket now. I need to get up and get ready for work, but I don't wanna.
In other news, smooth brain girl once again crippled by indecisiveness and inability to play the video games she desperately wishes to play because they don't scratch the dopamine itch at this moment. More on this developing story later?
It's been a while since I wrote something here. After the great Tumblr migration, when everything slowed down and a lot of blogs went silent, I left for a while. I originally started this page not only to act as a sort of journal, but also so that maybe, the things I wrote might reach others who shared the same thoughts or issues, that it might make all of us feel a little bit better, even if it can feel like shouting into the void sometimes. Even if the void never shouts back, I do hope that maybe some of you will still write how you're feeling or what you're thinking. You never know when you may stumble upon something you wrote years ago, a message meant for anyone, that you look back on and discover, was actually meant for you. Just a different version of you.

In less bright news:
She doesn't have anything yet but she's planning on putting stuff up soon. Please support her if you can. She has a lot of medical problems and disorders. it makes it hard for her to hold a job because of her physical pain and her mental state. She sees someone but therapy doesn't fix everything unfortunately, it just helps. she's doing this to help her partner too so it's not all on them to earn money.
Life is hard.
Sorry I've been dead lately. Been busy and exhausted by proxy. Plus I haven't been able to get some of my medicine in almost three weeks. The pharmacy and the doctor keep going back and forth and one keeps blaming the other. Ugh. End me.
If they keep this up then I'm just going to think they're having some kinda turf war. It's like watching hyenas and lions fight over a gazelle.

I always feel so bad about watching stuff with people because I have to stop in the middle of shows/ video and take a break or talk. I have a really good S/O who doesn't mind but I'm so used to other people being irritated by it that I naturally feel bad about doing it.
The smell of peppermint always helps me focus and stay awake. I'm curious if it does that for everybody with ADHD or if it's a person by person kinda thing?
Eating is such a chore when you have ADHD.
I have to eat dinner soon but I don't want to.
I'm not hungry.
