Everyone so quick to say people that criticizes Leah/Annabeth in the show are racists (which, okay, some people really are but they are saying any type of criticism is racist)
But nobody wants to talk about how Athena and Zeus, the black gods, are the only two gods who tried to kill their children, even if on the books they had their good moments with their kids. Meanwhile, Hades and Poseidon, the white gods, are all lovey dovey, even in the books Hades was fully ready to send the trio to the Fields of Punishment and Poseidon says at Percy's face he was a mistake and he regret It.
All the Thalia hype I had is going down with these Percabeth scenes.
And it is not even because I dont like percabeth overall, but because the way Percy is in s2 already saying he would burn Olympus for Annabeth, what reason the olympians will.have to let him live when they make that vote? I am not even starting how they changed how Percy was terrified of making this choice in the first place. Because the wrong choice would mean the end of the world as we know of. And Percy knowing that is what makes him terrified and actually shows that he is a very emphatic person despite his fatal flaw.
He has an entire inner conflict about it.
Idk. I dont like the way they are making Percy be Anakin 2.0. Never liked it. And specially not so early in his story. Percabeth in this adaptation should still be sweet and not a worsened anidala.
God help us.
He's basically giving the Olympians a valid reason to shoot him down. What are the writers doing?
The worst part is people saying “the gods might be terrified hearing this.”
And I am always like… Did we forget they are gods?
They are not your neighbors overhearing gossip and going “omg.” They are immortal beings looking at a thirteen-year-old demigod, possibly the child of prophecy, publicly declaring that he would destroy Olympus to protect a childhood crush.
They wouldn’t be terrified.
They would be thinking: “He needs to go. Immediately.”
Percy is a demigod. I genuinely don’t understand how the PJO fandom convinces itself that a 13-year-old, with one single quest completed, could be perceived by Olympian gods as someone who stands hand in hand with them, let alone as someone “superior.”
And here’s the thing: if the gods were truly terrified, that would require acknowledging Percy as a threat equal to them in power.
Again... a thirteen-year-old boy with one mission and basically no control over his powers.
Don't leave this in the tags!
Destroying the world for someone should never be romanticised like this. It would be one thing if Percy was a horny teenager consumed with passion and with the highs of a childhood crush but he's 13/14 here. What middle schooler talks like this???
Walker is acting like he's HOO!Percy.
seeing how pjotv showrunners handled seasons one and two—and the way fans talk about tlt and som versus ttc, botl, and tlo—makes me realize that not enough people appreciate the importance and nuance of introductions to stories. it's like how people gush about book two: earth and book three: fire without giving book one: water the credit it deserves for making the audience care enough about these characters in order for the rest of the story to have the impact that it does. imagine watching animated atla and starting with season two. would azula's introduction as an antagonist hold the same weight if there hadn't been an entire first season without her? would toph and zuko joining the gaang be as meaningful if the audience never got to know katara, sokka, and aang for an entire season first? i honestly don't think so.
and that's one of the many problems with pjotv. the showrunners and show fans don't seem to care about the lightning thief and the sea of monsters because they're just eager to "get to the good stuff." but tlt and som IS good stuff! so many people say som is their least favorite, but i adore that book. it's <300 pages but packs a punch with plenty of memorable scenes, which is commendable. many people say tlt is not as rereadable, but it kind of is? at least to me. i know there are moments when you're being told info that you already know (which, arguably, is the case for any book that you reread, not just first installments), but there's so much fun to be had, so many iconic moments, and it's paced well! the reason the titan's curse has the impact it does is because the previous two installments are lighter in tone. it's not the darker tone in a vacuum that makes an impact, it's the change in tone that you feel so deeply. if you only read thorough summaries of tlt and som before diving into ttc, it wouldn't have the same effect. if teen wolf started with void stiles, it wouldn't be as chilling as stiles, the comedic character, becoming void stiles.
people love to talk about "big" moments (e.g., character deaths, narrative shifts) and praise "perfect" finales/satisfying conclusions, and so do i (especially the latter, i love a good ending), but none of those would feel the way they do without proper introductions. and it seems like the pjotv showrunners don't understand this basic concept.
His last act as Dream was to save his friend and give him back life 💔
The Sandman 2x10
You know what makes everything worse? That Morpheus understood he was loved through Orpheus of all people. Like Dream’s conversation with Time about children loving their parents and then indirectly saying that he knew Orpheus loved him—-
And then after this he spends the rest of the episodes with his loved ones, trying to finally open his heart to them because he understood they loved him too—-
Ughhhh why did we get that ending even after all of this??😭😭
"Bucky is unhappy with the Thunderbolts and has no positive interactions with the Team"
Bucky smiling with Mel...
Yelena calling Bucky by his nickname that he canonically only lets people he likes use...
Bucky looking horrified when Yelena walks into The Void (almost as if he cares....)
Bucky joking around with Alexei smiling and laughing
Bucky joking around with the team...
Bucky being protective of Ava... and Ava being thoughful enough to grab his arm before escaping.
The team not leaving a man behind...
Bucky joking about his trauma..
Bucky helping Yelena... and identifying with her "embarassing dad moment.."
Bucky giving advice and inspiring his team...
Bonus: Walker throwing himself in front of Bucky.

i would pay several hundred dabloons to see orlando bloom play a book-accurate legolas. i completely understand how they probably had to tone his character down or else he would’ve taken all the spotlight lol, but can you imagine orlando bloom fucking SCREAMING at the sight of a balrog

Albert Camus, from "Personal Writings," originally published in 2020
“Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk. It doesn’t have to be a romantic walk in the park, spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world. It doesn’t have to be a walk during which you’ll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself. Find meaning or don’t find meaning but 'steal' some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.” ― Albert Camus, Notebooks 1951-1959
