LONG TIME | by blondie → muse a and muse b have been on and off since the start of their relationship. they can never seem to call it quits, and even during their ‘off’ periods they continue to communicate and fool themselves into thinking they’re just friends. muse a continues to pine over the other when they’re not together and always hopes they’ll get back together, even to the point of sacrificing their own feelings to look after muse b. on the other hand, muse b is more preoccupied with chasing cheap thrills and one night stands, but through the hurt and negative emotions from those temporary flings, muse b always finds their way to muse a for comfort because it’s ‘safe’.
PERSONAL | by emotional oranges → here the relationship was never defined. as far as muse a is concerned, their ‘relationship’ so far has only been short term and never discussed being exclusive. with that being said muse a does as they please - going out, getting high, seeing other people - and they don’t see anything wrong with it. in muse b’s mind they’ve been seeing each other for a few months, which leads them into believing they’re official despite not having the talk. of course, muse b takes muse a’s behavior personal and often lashes out on them. often times muse a finds this amusing and purposely finds ways to rile up muse b.
ROBOCOP | by kanye west → muse a is almost convinced they’ve lucked out with muse b. at first glance the physical attraction is there, but muse a had no idea that muse b would turn their life upside down. deep down muse b is riddled in insecurities and is often paranoid that muse a is cheating without any proper evidence. at the same time muse b also feels entitled to everything pertaining to muse a - they become a control freak, checking up on muse a’s whereabouts, looking through all of their belongings, and can’t accept the fact that muse a has a personal life. muse a gets fed up and tells muse b to change their ways or it’s over.
COMMUNICATION | by arin ray ft. dram → muse a has emotionally checked out of their relationship and no longer feels like muse b loves them. they couldn’t be more wrong, because muse b continues to try to get through to muse a in an effort to prove their love. despite all the promises and saccharine words spoken by muse b, muse a maintains their distance and refuses to budge.
KEVIN’S HEART | by j. cole → muse a has their partner - muse b, who is supportive, loving, and spouse material. despite this muse a can’t stop themselves from chasing after things that could be detrimental to their relationship. whether it be drugs or one night stands. whenever muse a chases after their desires, they feel better about themselves as it helps their ego, but it puts a strain on muse b in the process. muse a keeps trying to convince themself and muse b that they’ll change their ways because they don’t want to lose muse b. but muse a is an addict and turns to doing their dirty deeds in private.
SOMEONE ELSE | by emotional oranges → in a long term relationship, muse a slowly becomes awry. they’re turning into someone with a different character and morality than the person muse b fell for. disappointed who the other has become, muse b tells muse a out of spite to find someone else if they’re unhappy with their relationship. bitterness ensues when muse a follows those words and cheats on muse b.
GHOSTIN’ | by ariana grande → muse a is in a relationship with muse b, while still being in love with someone else, and muse b knows they can’t compete or compare to them.
PENDULUM | by fka twigs - the beginning of this relationship begins with sweetness and terms of endearment, but over time this relationship remains stagnant and never develops past the superficial. as muse a falls deeper into an attachment with muse b, they don’t view this relationship on the same level. muse b patronizes muse a, only seeing them as something for show or someone who he can come to when its convenient. the entire relationship is a facade, and muse a begins to see that and questions why they’re in love with muse b - after investing energy in this relationship only to receive nothing in return.
