My own two cents on the BATIM ending
Hey uhhh I know Iāve been dead but here I am, finally I have an idea for a post lmao
Obviously spoilers ahead for BATIM so beware
So like....Iāve heard a bunch of people sayingĀ āChapter 5 ending proves it NEVER HAPPENED itās all just a storyā and like.....ok yeah I see where that comes from, but as I think a few people pointed out, Bendy and the Ink Machine is sorta following in the success of Five Nights at Freddyās. And I donāt mean that in a bad way or that theyāre copying them, I actually think itās a good idea to take note of successful movies/games/whatever and see what you can learn and apply yourself. And one of the biggest mistakes Scott Cawthon made in FNAF was implying that the events of 1-4 were all a dream. That pissed off a LOT of people, and it led to Scott retconning the story, which is why there are still so many gaping plot holes to this day. So I highly doubt that Joey Drew Studios would be like,Ā āyeah that ended pretty bad for Scott but weāll give it a go too because uhh why not lmaoā.
Also, how has nobody pointed out that that is a MORBID story for Joey to be telling to a small child??? Like the plot of BATIM dealt with death and deceit and human sacrifice. I donāt think Iād be taking my kid back to see uncle Joey if he was traumatizing them like that. Yes, I know people have cited things like the letters on Joeyās board and the drawings on his desk as evidence that it isnāt real, but...I dunno, I think itās implying the opposite. Joey was an old, crooked man. I think itās possible that he invited all his employees back and THEN they became inky creatures. And if that pocket dimension theory is true, Joey could just be sketching up new plots for it, or even just drawing out scenarios he wishes would happen, I dunno. Regardless I donāt think that itās a nail in the coffin for the story theory.
Then thereās all that extra detail, the seeing tool and the calendar date in Joeyās house constantly changing. It implies a time loop. Why would they go through all the trouble of a time loop ending, and put all those hidden messages and details, if it was just a story Joey was telling to a kid? Even if he did want the story he was telling to have a time loop, if it wasnāt real it couldāve easily just been implied. There wouldnāt be so much time and effort put into the messages and their locations unless they actually meant something.
So....yeah. I donāt really have my own theory on the ending because Iāve heard quite a few that I believe make sense, but I just donāt personally think that it was just a story. Iāve also kinda got doubts about Henry writing ALL those messages, because some of them just donāt add up, but w/e. Thatās all folks.
