That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change.

holy shit this guys a hero
I was just thinking about this a couple days ago, hoping I’d run across it again to share
Mention drowning and we all tend to envision a person in the water waving his hands, splashing and screaming for help. That’s not even remot
This is a really important PSA! Especially in the summertime. Drowning is not what you see in movies with people flailing about and yelling. Aquatic distress can look like that but drowning is quite different. Drowning victims are usually physically unable to cry out or wave their arms, and often drown right in front of people without anybody noticing.
The UN has stated an estimated 18.4 million yemeni’s could die from famine within the next year. 18.4 mil. Let that sink in. That’s three times the number of Jews who died in the holocaust. And guess what? Yet again no one, literally nobody, not a soul is talking about it or doing anything about it.

YOO SPREAD THE WORD PEOPLE
Save a marker, SPREAD THE WORD!!!!
It’s called the crayola colorcycle program! As on its FAQ, they mention the following:
“Crayola ColorCycle will accept all brands of plastic markers, not just Crayola markers. That includes dry erase markers and highlighters! ColorCycle will eliminate placing hundreds of tons of markers into landfills.”
There do seem to be some limits, however, as far as I can tell, anyone can ship in a box of markers. “Any sturdy cardboard box with minimal outer markings will work. The more markers you ship, the more efficient this program will be. We suggest a minimum of 100 markers and a maximum of up to 40 pounds.”
Also, look for the Crayon Initiative.
Their whole things work with used, donated crayons they melt and make new ones to donate to children’s hospitals.
This is a really good idea, especially if you are trying to find an economic friendly way to get markers or crayons out of your abode without throwing them in the trash
please use this image wisely

Bartender, shook: oh, congratulations, boy or girl?
Peter, now in full-on panic mode: it’s an uh, spider
I’m seeing stuff in the notes about “Miles would do this” and I just want to say: you’re absolutely right. All Spider-folks across all universes share one (1) singular brain cell and most of the time it’s Gwen’s.
As the current author of Spider-Gwen, I can attest that Gwen has not seen the brain cell in years.
A recent scam involves fraudulent emails to makeup artists attempting to lure these aspiring professionals to cities in the US and Australia.
Traffickers do this to many different people, like teens looking for jobs or models seeking out contracts. Stay safe and learn about it more here.
Hey, real quick rant:
Don’t be mean to people who ask questions.
I hate it when i see someone asking ‘so wait, if a trans woman like women, is she gay or straight?’ and suddenly a dozen people jump on their ass for being ignorant or transphobic or whatnot- when all they had to do was answer the question. All you had to is go ‘She’s gay!’, and the person would go ‘oh, cool!’ and now they know. They just had a positive interaction with trans folks.
But if you belittle them, now they’ve learned they’re punished for asking. They’re punished for wanting to know, for wanting to learn, and for coming directly to the people who live that life instead of just going to google. And they come away not having learned anything except that those people were dicks to them.
Everyone is clueless at some point. When I was 10, I was homophobic. I was a kid, raised around homophobic parents in a homophobic country. But one day i decided hey, i want to learn, and i found some gay friends and I asked them some questions.
Do you think i’d be here; if they had told me that i was an ignorant fuck, that i should pull my head out of my ass, that I shouldn’t have asked those things?
It was thanks to them that I learned and grew as a person, because even though i was a stupid homophobic kid with some admittedly stupid questions, they answered them, because everybody starts clueless.
It doesnt matter how young or old or who they are either- everyone starts somewhere. And lord knows, I’ve had some people ask me some stupid questions. My government teacher came to me yesterday and asked me that exact question i mentioned above, and I answered it. He’s a 40-something year old dude. He’s trying to learn.
My little brother is 9, and asked me once if being gay meant that I wanted to kiss every girl i met. Was it a stupid question by my standards? yes. Did I answer it like it was any other normal question? Also yes.
Insulting people who are trying to learn is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever encountered. It can literally mean the difference between someone becoming part of the community or trying to take us down. We judge that; we control how we educate.
Do yourself a favor and educate. Everyone starts somewhere, and it’s our job to help them along, not tear them down.
so important! please take the time to answer the questions of people who genuinely want to educate themselves
Controversial Opinion
but I feel like the way people are reacting to Robert Pattinson playing Batman would be similar to how people in the DC comics would feel finding out that Bruce Wayne is Batman.
“Under communism little to no mental illness will exist” is such a fucking cold take. I will still be fucking schizoaffective bipolar under communism! I will still have OCD and PTSD and anxiety disorders! These things are aggravated by the stress of capitalism but are not brought on entirely by capitalism. I will still need meds when socialism/communism wins! The pharmaceutical industry sucks, yes, but people will still need their fucking psych meds to function and be stable! I’ve seen so many cold takes saying neurodivergent people can go off their meds once capitalism is overthrown and that’s not how it works. Many mentally ill people will still be mentally ill, and everyone with a developmental disability is going to still be developmentally disabled. Just because capitalism makes our conditions worse doesn’t mean it’s entirely responsible 100% of the time. Will some conditions improve to the point of not needing meds under communism? Maybe! Who knows? The point is that arguing that neurodivergence will be a thing of the past (or close to it) under communism or socialism does nothing to actually help neurodivergent people.
Capitalism 100% creates things like general depression and anxiety for Tons of people… But it ain’t the sole cause of mental illness and acting like it is just sucks. I could live in the most perfect socialist utopia and still need meds to be even remotely stable, they can take them over my dead body tbh.
i agree that capitalism isn’t the sole cause of the kinds of experiences that get labeled as mental illness. also i believe that mental illness is a social construct — the idea that experiences like autism, big feelings, sadness, anxiety, energy shifts, hearing voices, having visions, etc are “illnesses” is socially constructed. the construct of mental illness is rooted in various forms of oppression, including capitalism, white supremacy, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc. this is trackable if one reviews the history of psychiatry and the DSM. for context about my worldview: i’m a peer support advocate at a community mental health agency, i’ve received psychiatric labels, i took psych drugs for several years, and i’m part of the mad pride, psychiatric survivor, and neurodivergent movements. so yes, i’m fully on board with saying that the fall of capitalism won’t just eradicate experiences that are labeled as mental illness, but i also don’t want to suggest that all experiences labeled as mental illness are inherent or biological and that some won’t lessen if/when capitalism falls. i don’t think there’s one singular answer or explanation for why folks experience distress — i believe it’s a combination of so many factors. capitalism makes being alive fucking intolerable for many of us and certainly creates and exacerbates much distress. also i don’t want to suggest that all folks with psych labels need meds to function — i don’t think y’all are suggesting that at all, i’ve just gotten a lot of judgment for choosing to go off and stay off meds, so just want to acknowledge that this is a touchy subject for me. i think we probably agree that some folks choose to take meds to live with their experiences and some folks don’t, that there’s an entire spectrum of experience and belief around psych drugs just within communities of folks with psych labels. and it’s fucked up for sure when people have takes like “when capitalism falls, everyone can go off their meds.” that’s shitty and judgmental about folks who take meds. i just also want to make space for folks who may want to explore coming off their meds.
Yeah, that’s a good point. Of course people who don’t want to take meds or want to come off them should have that option, I can only talk about my own experience.
“Under communism little to no mental illness will exist" is a true statement because in a Communist country everyone will just starve to death.
I’m sorry but did the guy above just try and argue that hearing voices isn’t bad and that calling it illness oppression ‘cause wew.
Wait under communist regimes aren’t disabled people thrown into camps or murdered? Didn’t the word “brainwashing” come from Chinese because under Mao people with any mental illness would be re-educated and tortured?
Also those countries will say shit like “we eradicated Down’s syndrome” because they forced mothers to abort the babies.
Dude reading at the library = as one does
Dude reading at the library, frowning, and then taking out a moleskin notebook to jot something down = oh damn this dude is serious. Better not jostle my things around too loudly
Dude furrowing his brow and taking out a second moleskin to flip through before nodding and taking more notes in the first notebook = This dude is planning a fucking heist
