While Rise Donatello is my favorite character, the 2003 series remains the version I appreciate the most. I haven't watched the 1987 adaptation, and I suspect it wouldn't suit my taste. Outside of Rise, my affection for the turtles is entirely equal; I don't favor one over the others.

I felt like Donnie would cover him self up alot, cuz man have U seen his scars

plus he felt like he could do better stealth missions since his green ahh skin isn't seen in the dark etc, so he excels in stealth missions, the clothes he has like a protective layer so kraang wouldn't be able to cut him easily

The thing on his left arm near where the sleeve ends

those are emergency stuff, like a flare, a multi tool case, painkiller injection

he has them on his arm since he keeps his main stuff in his bag, the emergency stuff could easily get lost and he would stress out in the heat of the moment

So it's just easier to grab from arm

For the uh idk what it's called

But the thing covering his neck (ig U can say he was inspired by mako...)

But the real reason was because as we know

He hates tight clothing, so he still wanted his neck covered but not a turtle neck.

The reason I think he's better in stealth missions

I feel like he is gonna get distracted too much if he went in normal missions

Like he can't handle alot alot

if it was a small fight

With like ehhh 10-15 kraangs swarming him (with others)

He would be fine

like I feel like he gets stressed out when he's thinking too many options in which he accidentally focuses on one opponent which leads him to be a easy target

especially if someone is injured and he needs to protect and help them, he would immediately be stressed

I do interpret Mikey as more skinner, still somewhat fit

I just like to think he relies on his mystic more instead of doing physical attacks

plus he doesnt eat much cuz he keeps focusing on mystics (maybe to the point of addiction).

But I like to think when splinter died (beginning of the war)

Mikey salvaged his robes and made it into a cape

So he still would remember his father and that splinter would always be with him

Plus he likes to imagine hes being hugged by splinter whenever he goes to sleep or smth.

The reason he's not wearing gear since he kept insisting he would be fine because of his mystics

the reason he doesn't have many scars, is because he kept testing healing abilities on himself but it took too much of him and increased his mystic cracks.

"Why can't you just say 'help me'?" - April

When Donnie is struck down by a mystery illness, he has a choice to make - try to go it alone, or swallow his pride and let his family help him.

I've finally got around to making the masterpost you guys (it's only taken me nearly three months to realise I need one haha). I'm Shakes, and this silly little comic started as a bit of vent art when I was feeling ill myself, but the people demanded more, and so I just... kept drawing. And now it has a whole plot and everything.

Say Help updates once a week, on a Sunday evening, at 5.10pm GMT.

I finally ended this mini comic, I swear this was very funny today, I loved the idea since I started to draw it

This is based in the information shared in the stream of Collin Stei (The Disaster Twins are canon woohoo)

The biggest mystery of Rise...

Donnie's goddamn belt

So I was writing Dimensional Decay earlier and trying to figure out whether Donnie’s belt is part of his battle shell or its own separate thing to add as a plot.

I still don’t know the answer.

This fucking thing is magic.

In Mascot Melee, he switches from the flight shell to the spider shell, and the belt stays on, but it doesn’t go over the shell.

From the purple jacket, and these shots are literally frames apart, his belt very clearly comes off with the battle shell.

So apparently it is attached.

Also from the purple jacket sequence (during his dream) again, these shots are only frames apart. In one, the belt goes over his shell, and in the very next, it doesn’t.

At this point, continuity has completely left the building.

From Insane in the Mama Train, when he self destructs the battle shells, his belt is gone too.

So that’s another point in favour of it being attached to the battle shell.

Also from Insane in the Mama Train and End Game, the first shot is right before they put on the Hamato outfits. No belt. Clean waist. Nothing there.

Then the second shot is when they tear the outfits off, and suddenly the belt is back.

Not gradually revealed. Not unclipped. Not shown being put back on. It just exists again.

From the movie, when his battle shell breaks, the belt breaks with it.

Which heavily implies the belt isn’t just something he wears under or over the shell, it’s structurally integrated into it. Like it’s physically part of the battle shell system itself.

Also from the movie, when he takes the battle shell off in the Technodrome, the belt comes off with it.

And when he’s first pulled out of the Technodrome afterward, it’s still off.

That sequence pretty clearly treats the belt as a component of the battle shell, not an independent accessory. It behaves like it’s mechanically integrated. Remove the shell, remove the belt. Leave the shell behind, leave the belt behind. Simple, right?

WRONG!

Because somehow, somefuckinghow, it magically appears while he’s restrained.

During the time he’s been restrained, it wasn’t there. Then suddenly it is going all the way around his shell. And then, in the very next moment, it’s still there… but not all the way around.

No explanation. No transition. No continuity logic. It just exists and reshapes itself at will.

Let’s lay it all out clearly, we've got

Scenes where the belt comes off with the battle shell.

Scenes where it stays on while shells swap out.

Frames where it’s over the shell, then instantly not.

An instance where it vanishes before a costume change, then reappears afterward.

Another instance where the character is literally immobile, starts without the belt, and ends up with it on.

At this point, the belt is operating on its own dimensional physics. It obeys no rules, respects no continuity, and refuses all logic. It simply materializes wherever it damn well feels like.

In other words, Donnie’s belt isn’t part of the shell. It isn’t separate. It isn’t even consistent. It’s its own chaotic character.

So yeah, my question was never answered.

I'm going to turn this into a comic for open the floodgates as well, I'm just so excited to share this with you all, this is about 2 months worth of work, and I am so happy with it.

Tmnt 2003 x justice league crossover but it’s just the Justice Force meeting the Justice League due to some superhero threat, and the Turtle Titan also happens to be on duty on said world ending day.

Like a room full of superheroes that are Grown (TM) and this one teenager who happens to be a turtle but also he’s a (technically) part-time superhero but also also he’s a ninja. With the 2k3 turtles if you don’t know the teenager aspect you wouldn’t immediately assume anything, it’s not like people know how to spot the physiological tells of giant mutant turtle.

So it’s after whatever reality breaking mission they finished and they’re trading drinks around only for Mikey to bust out the: “No thanks dude, ‘m not 21 yet and my dad’d kill me if I went home drunk from a Justice Force meeting. Actually, Leo might do it first, and I Do Not want to get stuck standing in the living room for an hour while Raph and Don laugh at me—“

Like yeah the justice league has had younger members before, but it’s a weird feeling when everybody’s usually like 30-somethings or older.

(Then someone brings up the Fact that is Nano’s existence.)

High School AU

This actual conversation happened between his "buy-one-get-one-free" style parents.

Julien: "Seriously?!"

He knows gymnastics, god knows where he learned it; he’s the school’s first-ever male cheerleader captain. He ran for School King but failed, only to end up getting nominated for School Queen instead. His classmates' consensus: Feminized? Nah. Exotic style desu.

He’s obsessed with twirling and playing with his own hair (a habit carried over from his animal form playing with his tail).

Some random student from another class is always picking fights with him. But Julien literally doesn't even know (can't remember) their name.

He won’t reject a confession from anyone—except Mort. Once everyone figured this out, nobody openly liked him in that way anymore. Except Mort, obviously.

Never misses a single party or prom. Honestly, basically all the parties are hosted by him anyway.

Extremely loaded and drops cash like water.

Couldn’t care less about his grades.

A natural at forming cliques, completely subconsciously. He also effortlessly bullies people without realizing it. If he ever does realize, he’ll apologize sincerely—or maybe not so sincerely—but by then, the damage is already done.

People around him actually prefer hanging out with Maurice over him, but he has zero situational awareness and has never noticed.

I’ve been brainstorming my Earth-627 lore lately.

I named my Marvel Killer AU "Distinctive" to emphasize its non-official, heavily modified nature. "Marvel Killer" is the main title, and the subtitles follow a pattern like Distinctive Spider-Man, Distinctive Daredevil, and so on. Just like that. But should I add "the"?

The designation for this particular universe is Earth-627. 6 is my favorite number, and 27 stands for the 27 Club—you know, because they say all the protagonists in this universe end up dying anyway. FYI I'm not really feeling this 27 Club concept, ngl. Plus, 627 happens to be my crush’s birthday, and the numbers look really nice together.

The story actually starts out pretty ordinary. Peter Parker moves in with his aunt and uncle after his parents die in a plane crash, becoming neighbors with Gwen Stacy. Gwen is half a year older than Peter, and knowing his background, she always takes care of him. They’re like siblings (though after entering puberty, things inevitably get a bit ambiguous). They go to the same elementary and middle school, and Flash Thompson is always there with them, bullying Peter from childhood all the way up. In middle school, they meet Harry Osborn, and they officially become a trio. Around 8th or 9th grade, Gwen mysteriously develops a crush on Peter. This affection isn't hindered by any pseudo-sibling or childhood-friend ethical boundaries; after all, Peter is quite a charming nerd. Gwen is probably a mix of anxious attachment and sapiosexuality, but anyway, she just quietly loves him. In high school, Harry hits puberty too and starts crushing on Gwen, and he quickly notices that Gwen likes Peter. Meanwhile, Flash is still happily bullying Peter in high school.

The turning point happens in the second semester of their freshman year. During a field trip to Oscorp, Peter gets bitten by a genetically altered spider, and shortly after, Uncle Ben passes away. It's during those darkest days that Mary Jane enters their lives. After Peter starts acting as Spider-Man, MJ is the first one to snap a photo of him. Peter falls for MJ almost at first sight—not because she's blindingly gorgeous, as I don't want to write her as too pretty, but more like a pure, intense physical attraction. And just like that, the trio becomes a quartet. Both Gwen and MJ are incredibly understanding cis girls. When Gwen realizes Peter prefers MJ and only sees her as family, she doesn't feel unfulfilled or resentful; she basically accepts it subconsciously before she even has time to process it. Once Peter becomes Spider-Man, his emotional intelligence plummets as if sacrificed to some "law of conservation of EQ," and it comes with a numbing side effect from his spider DNA. At this point, the remaining three in the quartet end up becoming the glue that holds everyone together. Peter notices Harry likes Gwen’s ordinary, gentle kindness, so this idiot actually starts encouraging Harry to make a move. Harry and Gwen do get together, but they break up just six months later, both feeling they’re better off as friends. Gwen’s amazing personality keeps the post-breakup friendship from being awkward at all. Harry himself is an extremely twisted guy; his mother died giving birth to him, making his father his only living relative. He doesn’t love his dad—in fact, he deeply loathes him—yet he carries a crushing moral burden. He suffers from some inescapable borderline personality disorder.

Actually, Harry figured out Peter’s identity a long time ago. Based on how well he knows Peter, he just watched from the sidelines and never discussed it with anyone. That is, until one day on the battlefield, he witnesses his father—who is already the Green Goblin—brutally rip off Spider-Man’s mask, confirming his suspicion in the most bloody way possible. In Peter's world, MJ is the only person he willingly tells, making her the sole keeper of the Spider-Man secret, which becomes the core thread of their deep emotional entanglement.

Later, in the Venom arc, Peter and Flash finally reconcile. Venom bonds with Spider-Man first, completely absorbing all of Peter’s memories, pain, and burdens, before moving on to bond with Flash. For a while, Flash gets severely depressed; he stops bullying Peter, but he can no longer blindly worship Spider-Man either. Even before MJ knows the truth, Flash, through Venom's residual memories, becomes the closest person to Spider-Man in the entire universe, and the one who understands his inner heart the most. Later, Flash processes everything and single-handedly declares that he and Peter are friends. As for that idiot Peter, thanks to the side effects of his spider DNA, he's completely oblivious and has no idea what's going on in Flash’s head. I can't bear to leave Peter unloved; I can't let him have nothing but the burden of Spider-Man, otherwise everything would be too hopeless, and there wouldn't be a Spider-Man to begin with—because Spider-Man is meant to be born out of both despair and love.

Yet, the endgame for this universe remains freezing cold. At age 17, a bit older than his Ultimate Universe counterpart, Peter ultimately dies fighting the Green Goblin, killing each other in the process. After his death, there will never be a second Spider-Man in this universe.

After Peter dies, everyone’s life derails onto different tracks. MJ transfers schools; the memories of Midtown High are too painful for her to handle. She later goes to Yale for her studies, takes over J. Jonah Jameson’s place to become an incredible journalist and author, and personally writes Peter Parker’s story, burying him in her words. Gwen and Harry broke up at 15 or 16, but after Spider-Man dies, these two scarred souls somehow drift back together—it’s hard to say if it’s out of love, or just leaning on each other through shared trauma. As for Flash, he is one of the people hit hardest by Peter's death. His family was ruined long ago; much like in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, he lost his parents, lived in an empty house, survived on welfare and part-time gig money, and lived with an old guy running a gas station. He never went to college. He's simultaneously sensitive and thick-skinned, easily offended but putting on a tough front, turning into a textbook alpha male. He doesn't visit the graveyard to talk to Peter every year, maybe once every three or five years instead. But the Venom possession remains the single most monumental event of his life. He carries that hidden trauma of being the closest person on Earth to a superhero, living out his rough life in solitude.

Honestly, it’s wild how Flash Thompson became Spider-Man’s No. 1 fan. Like, how does a schoolyard jock bully end up worshipping a neighborhood vigilante who fights for justice? It gives major closeted energy (idk why I keep using the word "closeted" lately). Either he just thinks Spidey is pure cool—which, to be fair, he is—or there's some deeper psychological stuff going on. But the fact that Flash fiercely defends Spider-Man even when the whole world hates him? Yeah, it’s definitely more than just "thinking he's cool."

Sigh, it's like this jock bully sees a spark of genuine righteousness in this hero, but subconsciously, he's too scared to change his status quo, so he keeps bullying people. It’s total doublethink—bullying Peter is one thing, but stanning a superhero is another. I lowkey relate to this so much. For flawed jerks like us, changing who you are requires a serious catalyst, otherwise it just feels awkward and cringe. That's what I mean by "closeted." And the ultimate catalyst is Flash finding out Peter Parker's secret identity. No wonder the second he found out, his immediate instinct was to become bros with Peter.
