Shrinking
An ecosystem of fragmented egos
The shrapnel of wounded souls
No steady limbs to reach for when afraid
No quiet corners to enter when unsafe
A lonely abyss of generational trauma
Where my voice echoes into muteness
And so I shrink
As small as I already feel
As tiny as my voice already is
Until I become the shrink
The shrink everyone seeks out as a balm
But I too need soothing
Attuning
Especially when the darkness comes looming
But no one is coming to save me
So I retreat into myself
A resonant body that’s become a shell
All dormant parts, the deepest of wells
