The Key FiveÂ
Super disgusting! People are FUCKED UP.Â
Itâs racial discrimination to treat someone less polite than someone else would be treated in the same circumstances, because of race. We canât ignore the case of blatant racism. We MUST draw public attention to such cases. We must ensure that racists are identified and socially discredited. There are no reasons or excuses for racism. Itâs just disgusting.
from the KTLA news article:
When Suh said she would report the action to Airbnb officials, the host replied: âItâs why we have Trump.â
Suh said that comment made her painfully aware of how threatened minorities have become under the Trump administration.
âFor me personally, to now have someone say something racist to me and say itâs because of Trump, it was my fears coming true,â Suh said. âThat people who held these racist beliefs felt emboldened.â
The host went on to say she would ânot allow this country to be told what to do by foreigners.â
Suh is an American citizen who has called the U.S. home since she was 3 years old.
âIf this is my experience as a light-skinned Asian woman, what is it like for people who have darker skin than me or are Muslim?â Suh wondered aloud. âWhat is it like for people who are undocumented or not U.S. citizens yet?â
BLESS HER FOR BEING VOCAL ABOUT THIS DO PEOPLE REALIZE HOW REAL THIS IS YET!?
Ok so i work for Airbnb. And they actually donât fucking play with discrimination. At all. We were banning people who were going to Charlottesville for the riot. But they canât do anything unless we are told. And the most common thing i hear is âi donât want to start a ruckus or cause any troubleâ but.. in order to prevent this stuff⊠we need people to. Donât stay silent.
Reblogging again for that! ^^^^
Also apparently the host was fined $ 5,000 and was forced to attend a class on Asian Americans, as well as apologize and serve community service. Which is awesome.
I'd very much like to punch a feminist.

Youâre in charge of assigning every child on Earth the monster under their bed. One child in particular has caused every monster assigned to him/her to quit. You decide to assign yourself.
Case: #273402 Status: Disastrous.
I stare at the file and realize I have no options, over the last 2 years every monster assigned to Charlotte Dower has quit, every last one. Her first monster; a giant goldfish-faced humanoid named Bubba, had been with her for four years, and then she wasnât scared of him anymore. After that it was a string of different common, uncommon, and rare monsters⊠I even assigned a sentient sock monster to her. He came back crying! I look on my tablet, only one assignable monster left; myself. Field work has never been my cup of tea, but desperate times call for desperate measures. So at 8:03 pm, after Mrs. Gideon tucks in Charlotte and her little brother Daniel; I slither into the space beneath Charlotteâs bed. Across the room underneath Danielâs crib is a rookie, Chico, a standard Creep kind of monster. I turn my attention to the bed above me, Charlotte is still awake but barely, I reach up over the bed and run an ice cold finger over her cheek, silence, so I do it again. âIâm not afraid of you monster!â She whispers, but her voice is shaking. I can see a small clock on the wall 8:14, a door somewhere in the house slams and there is an audible hitch of breath from above me. A few minutes go by I can hear Francis Gideon yelling at his wife. There are heavy footsteps on the stairs, and loud panting breaths, Charlotte scrambles off the bed and⊠She. CRAWLS. Under. The. Bed. With. Me. âMove. Over!â Charlotte hisses at me. I do. The door to the bedroom slams open and I smell the stench of human intoxicants before the man even steps inside. I know why Charlotte isnât afraid of any of my monsters; sheâs afraid of her own. Francis reaches a hand under the bed and I thrust my wrist into it, he starts to pull, I slither out. âWhat theâŠâ I cut Francisâs next words off by unfolding to my full 12 foot height. Looming over the drunken man I caress my cold fingers down his face. âIf you ever touch, scare, or harm my child again, I will find you, and I will do the same to you, for all eternity.â I promise to him. As Francis runs from the room he soils himself. I pull Charlotte from under the bed, tuck her back under her covers and kiss her forehead goodnight. âIâll be back tomorrow night, sleep well darling.â Charlotte Dower is my child, I am the monster under her bed.
OkayâŠbut Iâm dead. This killed me. RIP

#because i am incredibly thankful that a character like this exists #and that writers sat down and scripted this #and put it on television #and itâs just amazing and it means so much #because a lot of victims have their confessions met with cruelty and they do not recieve the proper care and treatment they need #i donât believe in god but i do believe in olivia benson

You donât get to be up here without standing on the shoulders of a mountain of people and thereâs no time to thank everyone. Iâd like to try and thank one person properly, and to say thatâŠ
I am not the first person you loved. You are not the first person I looked at with a mouthful of forevers. We have both known loss like the sharp edges of a knife. We have both lived with lips more scar tissue than skin. Our love came unannounced in the middle of the night. Our love came when weâd given up on asking love to come. I think that has to be part of its miracle. This is how we heal. I will kiss you like forgiveness. You will hold me like Iâm hope. Our arms will bandage and we will press promises between us like flowers in a book. I will write sonnets to the salt of sweat on your skin. I will write novels to the scar of your nose. I will write a dictionary of all the words I have used trying to describe the way it feels to have finally, finally found you. And I will not be afraid of your scars. I know sometimes itâs still hard to let me see you in all your cracked perfection, but please know: whether itâs the days you burn more brilliant than the sun or the nights you collapse into my lap your body broken into a thousand questions, you are the most beautiful thing Iâve ever seen. I will love you when you are a still day. I will love you when you are a hurricane.

You guys, heâs back!
I didnât know that I needed to see this until I saw it.
To put it simple. You DONT have to act tuff. To be a tough guy. ï»ż haha
So I looked this guy up. First, not shown in the first gif is the fact that heâs just wearing regular pants:
Also, heâs written a sci-fi novel and has spent time in Africa building a school and orphanage for abused teenage girls. So, good for that guy.
I love him
Honestly the best piece of advice I can give to younger girls trying to figure life out is to completely ignore men. Iâm not being quirky or cute when I say that, I mean it seriously. Ignore menâs judgments of you, ignore their insincere compliments, ignore their half-assed romance. Focus on developing yourself. Practice your art, play sports, do theater, volunteer, spend time with your friends, but do not put substantial effort into pleasing men. Theyâll be there for you to pursue when the time comes and if you want to. But nothing will waste your youth more than fighting for male acceptance.
How women prepare for first dates
Bonus: How men prepare for first dates:
Accurate.
Okay but the first set of gifs is not a joke like thatâs literally how it goes.
One of the girls at work wonât get in the guyâs car unless he agrees to let her take photos of him and his license plate to text to her mother. If he gets mad or makes a fuss she cancels the date and goes back inside.
Reblogging for that đđŒđđŒđđŒ
Iâve had someone take pics of me and my license plate on a first date before & I was okay with it. Iâve also had a friend allow me to view the tracking on her phone when she went to meet up with a guy the first time. This isnât a joke at all & women have good reason to worry.
i have only ever met 2 people online, and made sure that we met up somewhere that was 1) public 2) close to my home.Â
After, I walked to the dollar store that was a couple shops down until I knew they were gone, before walking home.
Louis C.K. kind of nailed it. Men worry that their date wonât measure up to their aesthetic preferences. Women worry that theyâre going wind up dead.
The disparity is RIDICULOUS, and the fact that dudes get offended when women try to protect themselves is hard proof that way too many guys Do Not Understand how dangerous it is to be a woman. (Not to mention itâs fucking insulting. âHow dare you not trust your life and safety to a complete stranger whose intentions you have no way of knowingâ?)
Lookinâ at the notes on this post following my earlier reblog and just goingâŠ.
Wow. WOW. Look at all these sheltered people and their internalized misogyny.
The point isnât, âNOT ALL MEN ARE OUT TO GET YOU.â
The point is, âWE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING A NICE GUY FROM A SERIAL KILLER.â
Itâs not like they fucking wear nametags, okay? Moreover, the most awful people with the worst intentions often put on the nicest face or deliberately make themselves seem harmless and likeable, to lull potential victims into a false sense of security. (Read up on Ted Bundy sometime. Itâs horrifying shit. Or read any thread on the âLetâs Not Meetâ subreddit.)
In order to protect ourselves, we are forced to assume the worst of every man we meet, because statistically speaking, the biggest danger to womenâŠIS MEN. Saying ânot all men are out to get you, youâre just being paranoidâ is like saying ânot every car you ride in is going to crash, so buckling your seatbealt is stupid.â
When dealing with an unknown situation, in the absence of absolute proof of safety, exercising a little extra caution can be the difference between life and death. Shaming women for being what you may view as overly cautious is every bit as horrid as blaming them if something goes wrong later on.
And refusing to go to a secluded location with a complete stranger without letting someone know where youâre going, who youâre with, and how to find you is just common street sense, whether youâre on a date or just going out for business or social purposes.
If your life has been so sheltered (or your coping skills so incredible) that you see no need to distrust strangers or worry about the potential for violence, you should thank your lucky stars.
And you should also be aware that just because it hasnât happened to you or anyone you know does not mean that it doesnât happen.
Lemme say that louder for the people in the back.
Just because it hasnât happened to you or anyone you know does not mean that it doesnât happen.
Re-Reblog for relevant commentary.
And if you wonât take a womanâs word for it because you are some kind of asshat, men who sleep with men also mirror these rituals because even men are afraid of other men based on menâs behavior and inability to understand ânoâ or take rejection well.
Iâll stop reblogging this when it stops being relevant

So glad people like this exist in this world.
I honestly think relationships in general would be healthier, in general, if we didnât believe they should last forever.
When the default is âforeverâ and shorter relationships are seen as a failure, we miss out on a lot. We stay in relationships that donât work because theyâre not âbad enoughâ to leave, as though not wanting the relationship anymore isnât a good enough reason. We deny ourselves happy memories, saying âIf it doesnât work now, our love then wasnât real.â We pass on relationships we know would be short, because if it doesnât last forever, whatâs the point in joy in the moment?
An ending isnât a failure. Itâs an ending. Most relationships have them. What would our relationships be like if we stopped focusing on our fear of endings and started focusing on what we - and our friends, partners, and family - need right now?
I think about this all the time. Thank you, for whoever put it into words!
my mom tells us this all the time. some relationships (like her and my dads) run their course romantically. doesnât mean it was a failure or that either would take it back. people just grow and change and not always in the same ways. you can love someone and still accept that the relationship isnât healthy or beneficial anymore.
