My art teacher was the first one who taught me that my art was valuable and that I, as a human being, have value.

We also did horse riding together and shared a common interest towards those majestic beasts. She was particulary attached to one, a female Fjord, with a caramel like coat. She said that this horse saved her life when she fell ill.

Notably, I started learning how to draw horses with her. This was all back then when I was still young, not yet a full on teen, far from the adult I am now, but close to the drastic change…

But last week, my art teacher, who’d become along the years my mentor and a second-mom, passed away suddenly…

I had not drawn a horse in years. But I felt the need to immortalize her Fjord horse best I can, as a symbol of all the happy years we spent together…
