In immediate response, he shrugs off her gentle hand and takes a even further step away from her. Abel doesn’t appreciate this condescending remark nor the occasion display of someone else actually caring about him or his well being and he doesn’t mean to respond so bitterly but he can’t help it. “I’m not helpless Katie, “I’m a fucking drug lord not so little ass kid. The only one who would be in danger, is you. Though you know how to protect yourself, that’s why I stay with you.” Of course no one likes to be shot and Abel would be the first in attempt to avoid it, but it wasn’t as if he hadn’t known the feeling. A smile is given then at her following words because she truly underestimated him. “You really have no idea who I am, do you Katie?” And it both so amusing and insulting to him, he’ll laugh at it either way because it’s funny “That’s so cute”
Katie took a small step away from Abel. She expected his reaction, but she was still intimidated by him. She drummed her fingers against her thighs as she listened to his words. Her blue eyes gazed up into his brown ones as she wet her lips slightly before speaking, paying no attention to his little laugh. “You’re right, Abel.” She said. “I don’t know who you are.” She spoke quietly as her eyes surveyed his strong features. “Why won’t you tell me, Abel? Why won’t you tell me anything? If you’re so fucking big and strong, why aren’t you brave enough to hold an actual conversation with me? You and I both know I’m not a threat to you, so I don’t understand why you’re hiding so much from me. It’s apparent you know just about everything about me—Hell, you even found me even after I dropped off the grid for a month!” She took a deep breath to calm down, as she sensed she was starting to get worked up. She knew the danger of angering him, yet her emotions urged her to step forward, to come face to face with her lover and her possible enemy. “What are you so afraid of, Abel? Why won't you open up to me? Even a little bit. You know you can trust me; I love you...” She said, her voice soft in an attempt to keep her emotions from faltering it.
