thoughts when you stick the foot out the blanket at 3am (it is meant to fade out like that at the bottom, itâs a visual representation of me shutting myself up)
Why am I still here
Friendly reminder to not punish yourself for creating.Â
Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?
I have a tendency to beat myself up whenever something I make doesnât meet my expectations (which is always). The result is that finishing something = bad feelings: I am effectively punishing myself for having created something. The natural reaction to this punishment is an aversion to creation, meaning that my perfectionism is harming me, not only by causing me to despise what I do make and by impeding the creative process, but by attacking even my desire to create.
a while back i read a post along the lines of âif you feel like everyone hates you, itâs time to rest⊠if you feel like you hate everyone else, itâs time to eatâ and honest to god iâve never used any piece of advice more than i have that one
I always add on âif you feel like you hate yourself, itâs time to take a showerâ to turn it into a trifecta.
Soul-cleaving emotional problems require very basic biological solutions.
A few years ago, I went to an anatomy conference and they had a huge 3D printed vampire skull, and these thoughts have been on my mind ever since I saw the teeth up-close.Â
The under-utilized potential for this bothers me a lot⊠like in movies⊠itâs just bite and done!
What happened to ritual shaving or elaborate skin engraving?
I know a lot of artists/writers follow meâŠ. can you guys do Vampires a solid?
Some Interesting off-game character interactions in Genshin
These are all based on their in voice lines which can be found in the game or here!:
Barbara and Venti are friends! despite what happened to the holy lyre. Barbara comments that Venti has a really amazing voice while Venti says her voice is really sweet. Implying they either sang together or watched each other perform!
Xiangling used to be part of Beidouâs crew! Beidou and her crew often misses Xianglingâs cooking while Xiangling has nothing but admiration for Beidou. Beidou often gets her fresh seafood ingredients which she experiments on
Razor is a student of Lisa! Lisa thought him how to control his vision and seem to be quite fond of him. They often do combat practice together even though Lisa doesnât like doing work she puts effort on teaching razorÂ
Chungyun doesnât like Xiao that much even though he respects him a lot for what he has done for Liyue. Xiaoâs attitude towards mortals puts him off. This also implies that chungyun has at least have either met him or knew him through someone else that had direct contactÂ
Apparently, a lot of characters have a bad impression of Ningguang, most notably xiangling, xingqui, and keqing. Beidou seems to have a negative impression of her as well but doesnât really care. This makes her the most disliked playable character in game so farÂ
A lot of Knights of Favonius members seems to either be smitten or respect (or both) a future playable character named Albedo (the head alchemist of the knights.) Kaeya and Lisa remarks that he is quite good looking while the rest respects him a lot (Klee remarks that he is her friend). Venti is wary of him though
The character with the most voiced lines about them is Jean! Jean is the most respected character in Mondstadt while Zhongli in Liyue. Funnily enough, characters who have lines about Jean have met her while characters who have lines about Zhongli havenât or me him at least onceÂ
Xiao is the only character who is mentioned by Qiqi in memory format. Since Qiqi has no memories of her previous life and have trouble remembering things for a long time (even the face of her caretake), this may imply that Xiao might have left a strong impression on Qiqi before she died.Â
Venti and Mona know each other! Venti remarks that both have similarities of having jobs that would make a person poor (bard & Fortunetelling). Mona doesnât dare to read fortune abouts Venti due to a previous incidentÂ
Additional: Mona asks the traveler where Paimon comes from and says: I cannot seem to discern a single shred of information regarding this floating fairyâs fate meaning that Paimon most likely isnt from TeyvatÂ
Noelle loves spending time with Barbara and vice versa! They have tea breaks together sometimes, Barbara usually hums/writes songs while Noelle makes snacks for them. Barbara comments that Noelle is just the cutest!Â
Diluc has the most âbad impressionsâ in mondstadt due to his status of being an ex knight which put a lot of strain on his relationship with most of the characters. Though Barbara thought Diluc might have disliked her performance due to him frowning at her one timeÂ
Kaeya is probably the character with the most suspicion directed at. While he is praised and respected for the skill as a knight, characters like Diluc (obv), Amber and Sucrose are wary of him because of how he actsÂ
Varka, The grand master of mondstadt seems to be respected a lot by the knights, most notably Jean and Kaeya. Diluc on the other hand seems to dislike him a lot and hinted to be one of the reasons why he left. He was also the one who gave Razor his nameÂ
Xiangling, Chongyun and Xinqui are the only 3 characters that all have each other in their own voice lines with a positive reaction. Xinqui drags Chongyun to eat with him at Xianglingâs resto very often, most likely to poke fun at him for not handling spicy food well.
Barbara is really good friends with Lisa! and says that if Lisa ever becomes a star sheâll support her until her voice turn hoarse.
While Ningguang is currently the most disliked PLAYABLE character the most hated character is actually someone called Hu Tao! Xiangling, Xinqui, Chongyun and Qiqi (especially) despises them for their overall attitude, pranks & jokes. Howeve Xiao seems to think that she is funny.
Ganyu, the secretary of Ningguang has a small assistant named Yaoyao who is a dendro user! Ganyu, Ningguang and Beidou dotes on her a lot (though Ningguang doesnt like to show it). Yaoyao is also a fellow chef and a junior of Xiangling!
Chongyun & Xinqui seem to have a mutual distaste for a character named Xinyan! Nothing on a personal level, itâs just because she plays rock music (which disturbs Xinquiâs reading) and her concerts are filled with flames (which bothers Chongyun). Xiangling likes her though!
Xinqui and Xiangling are the only characters from Liyue to have voice line for a character in Mondstadt! (For now) Though both characters are yet to be released (Albedo and Dionna). On the other side, Venti is the only one who has a voiceline for a character in Liyue (Morax). If all of Xiaoâs line from the closed beta are added in canon then he would be included for his line on Venti!
Masha The Hero
They forgot the part where the ambulance actually stopped to let the cat in
oh good I was worried
What a good cat. What a kind cat. How can anyone not love cats they are so good and loving.
they also forgot the part where they only found the baby because masha was screaming her head off bc she knew this baby was in danger. she went around outside the alley the next morning and yelled at passerby until she got one to follow her to the baby. she kept him warm all night and then made sure someone found him. she was adopted after this bc she was a stray and is in a loving home and is a hero
Hero cat
Thank you, Masha, youâre such a good girl.
See.
Kittens canât regulate their own body temperature. Thatâs why they pile up.
Cats see us as colony members.
Masha saw a kitten that was on its own, no mommy, no other kittens to cuddle with. She instinctively knew that was a cold kitten. She knew that a kitten alone on a cold night was very likely to die. Because a kitten would have died too.
So, all she was doing was what any good colony member does - protecting the abandoned kitten. Then when the abandoned kittenâs mommy didnât come back, she called the rest of the colony for help.
People have this bizarre idea that housecats donât have a social sense. They do, and it saved this kidâs life. And possibly Mashaâs too, as life on the streets is dangerous for a kitty.
We say âgood dogâ all the time, but Masha was being a very, very good catâŠnot just by human moral standards but by feline ones.
I can't stress enough that people need to be aware that there are doctors who are "just okay" at their jobs. Who barely passed their boards and/or had to retake courses and/or had scores so low they even had a hard time matching at the end of med school.
Please seek second opinions. Third, even. Ask the doctors endless questions. Challenge them if something doesn't feel or sound right. Don't stroke their egos by being intimidated by their perceived intelligence.
before i had gotten close with ex-catholics i was under the assumption that "catholic guilt" was mostly about sex, or serious topics.
but i was naĂŻve. it's apparently about every positive experience. enjoying a meal? you're so lucky, children are starving. spending your day off cosy in bed? wow, so selfish, homeless people are freezing to death.
every former or present catholic i've met has a very obvious anxiety disorder and it's so painfully not a coincidence.
tumblr is such a unique experience in 2021 because itâs probably the only place on the internet, or in real life, really, where there is absolutely no point. there is no agenda, and no purpose, itâs just a place i can create this little bubble of art, and self-expression, and poetry, and live in it peacefully. scrolling through my blog and appreciating photography, fashion, literature, etc. just feels like a beautiful respite from everything outside of this website? no news no performance no productivity just pure vibes
I lost my mind

look Iâm not denying that there were, sadly, gaps in Reiâs parenting because of the situation she was in. itâs a depressing reality that in situations like these with multiple kids most of them get left by the wayside or neglected at some point. Especially for Touya, the oldest, who probably didnât require as much physical care as the younger ones. Iâm saying you literally CANNOT treat her the same as Enji, who abused and ignored his children ON PURPOSE. Rei defended her children verbally and physically and was ignored and punished for it. Even when she knew Endeavor didnât give a damn what she had to say and wouldnât listen, she still tried to convince him.
There was nothing she could do, in the most literal sense, to get them away from Endeavor, and just up and leaving would leave them alone with him. Itâs the most heartbreaking dilemma a lot of abused mothers are put in: if they leave for their own safety, that means leaving their kids, and often they decide to stay to try and protect them. (And imagine how terrible people would call her if she did try and leave and fail to get them away from Enji, people would call her actions child abandonment. What a bitch, leaving her kids with a monster all alone.) She had no other options but to stay with Endeavor and do her best to support the kids.
And again, obviously she couldnât be the best mother for every child here. Thatâs just sad reality. She was beaten down physically and mentally, implied to be the sole caretaker of four kids, and in the end she didnât have any power over Enjiâs decisions. When Touya snapped and attacked Shouto, she had literally just gone through childbirth, and was probably still recovering. There were things she missed; Iâm not surprised that Touyaâs deteriorating mental state might have slipped her radar to some degree. But the important point here is that this was unintentional. Rei was under so much stress, to the point she eventually had a mental breakdown, that even doing the best she could she couldnât be completely attentive to each child. In reality, no mother could, when abused and given no help by their partner. Is that really depressing, yes, but you canât treat her failings the same as Endeavorâs, which were on purpose and done out of a complete lack of care and selfishness.
And, in reality, people acting like Rei could have kept Touya from breaking down are deluding themselves. Rei could not heal Touya all by herself while Enji continued to hurt him. Itâs emphasized over and over that Touya got to this point explicitly because of Endeavorâs actions. His obsession grew because of Endeavor. Even if Rei focused 100% of her attention on him to the point of neglecting the three other children she had she couldnât just undo everything her husband had done and was doing.
But why are mothers held to such an unreachable standard? Why is Rei suddenly a horrible monster for not being able to be this perfect parent who supports every child in an unattainable way (ie filling in completely for the other absent, neglectful, abusive parent), while being abused herself? Why is this now 50/50 her fault despite her being a victim and Enji abusing his entire family? Why is she treated like shit when the father still has people who defend him when he was the sole reason for his familyâs declining mental health? Why is the mother expected to fix everything while the abuser keeps trashing and breaking every attempt to do so?
There were gaps in Reiâs parenting, yeah. Itâs sad and a result of the environment. But you absolutely cannot treat it the same way you would Endeavorâs purposeful neglect and abuse. Rei literally had no support, from anyone, and it blows my mind people are now blaming her and calling her an abuser for the crime of being the only one advocating for her kids and not being able to save them from a man who controlled every aspect of their lives.
It stings even more because all the shit people are saying about Rei is word for word the shit people say to and about real life abused women. This is shit people said about my own mom. Fuck everything.
Part 1
Continuing on second reblog-
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF TOYAâS SCAR PLACEMENT:
Okay strap in for a meta post of me reading into things too much after having my heart ripped out.
LONG POST! Scroll down to EYES if you wanna get straight into the pain.
Are they really your comfort character if you don't comfort them back?
Okay so with everything going on right now and all the exciting new information, there is one thing I see being overlooked a lot, and that is something I want to talk about: Natsuo Todoroki.
In almost every scene he appears in during the manga, he mentions Touya, and I really want to try to imagine the sort of effect this new information will have on him.
Natsuo and Touya have a clearly established relationship as kids, and while Fuyumi says they played together a lot, in one translation of a the scene in 253 Natsuo says that Touya used to tell him everything, implying that they also talked openly about what Endeavor was doing to their family and how they felt about it.
Natsuo was entirely ignored by Endeavor as a kid to the point where his existence was hardly acknowledged, and with information from the new light novel we know that Rei hardly took care of him either after Shouto was born. Natsuo would have been about four, not nearly old enough to do things on his own and was likely raised mostly by his older siblings.
Now imagine what it was like for Natsuo when Touya died. He would have been 10 at the most, and however Touya died (and I say died because it was considered a hard fact to the Todoroki family for almost a decade) and wether or not he witnessed it does not change the fact that it has been one of the most traumatic, defining events of his life so far. Not only was he still very much a child, Touya was likely his best friend and the single person he could rely on. Touya and Natsuo helped each other through the trauma they were both experiencing, so I canât even imagine how devastating it would have been for Natsuo to lose his sole support system so suddenly without any grief counseling in sight.
If you think about it even now, at the core Dabi and Natsuo share strikingly similar viewpoints on hero society as a whole, and they both despise Endeavor for the same reasons. They also both seem to be very emotionally driven and have internalized their feelings that show only under stressful circumstances.
I am going to attribute the different outcomes in who they are now to Natsuo still having a stable home and Fuyumi to help him cope, and whatever happened to Touya he was almost definitely homeless and alone so it was easy for him to fall in with a group of loveable societal rejects (although I very much want to know exactly what he did for the years between âdyingâ and joining the league).
So now finally, I will try my best to predict how Natsuo might react to the information that his brother is alive, especially assuming he finds out through the same video that Rei does. Horikoshi went out of his way to establish a relationship between the two, so either way it will definitely be heartbreaking.
First off is knowing that Touya is alive. Even with that information alone and nothing about Dabi himself, it would not explicitly be joyful. A huge part of who Natsuo has become is because of how his past-e.g. losing Touya- has shaped him. A significant example being that in the new light novel we learn that he wanted to be in the medical field to help people in situations like his mother âwhose hearts have been hurtâ. I think before any sort of positive emotion this information will definitely rattle him to the core, as it has Shouto and Endeavor. This is not just about Touya being alive, but itâs about how much of Natsuoâs life has been shaped by his death. Iâd imagine under normal circumstances some form of joy or excitement would set in after the initial shock, but judging by the content of the video I canât imagine that.
And finally we get to Touyaâs status as a criminal, terrorist, and his admission to murdering over 30 people. Iâm going to re-iterate what I said before, that Natsuo obviously looked up to his brother, and the image of teenaged Touya that he has been imagining and hearing in his head for the past decade is so drastically different from who he is now. **Now we have no reference point for how Touya was as a kid, wether or not he exhibited early antisocial tendencies or wether he was as kind and protective as the fandom seems to think of him. My point still stands that Natsuo looked up to him as a kid and immortalized him in his memory, so the cognitive dissonance between the Touya he knew and the Touya that we see now will also be destructive.
**Another side note, I wrote this before I saw the translation that Touya considered kiling Shouto while they were kids, which is certainly chilling and adds a whole nother level to this mess, so take that as you will
I honestly have no idea how he will react based on this last point.
One one hand, Natsuo is known for his brutal honesty in expressing how he feels, and this could be no different. There is definitely the possibility that he could blame Touya for abandoning them and betraying them, along with the horror of knowing how many people he murdered.
There is also a much different response to anticipate, mainly because Natsuo is also a very sympathetic person with a particular soft spot for his older brother, and may choose to view him as more as a victim.
Horikoshi is an incredible writer and is very capable of portraying subtle and complex emotions in his characters, and he is also well known for uncanny parallels and coming full circle in his writing, so I have theorized for a while now that the siblingâs responses to Touyaâs return might be opposite to their willingness to forgive Endeavor, based mostly on their relationships with both of them. I think it would be poetic if Natsuo (who again is very emotionally driven) would have an initial response of just wanting to reunite with his brother and willing to overlook his transgressions in the moment, Shouto would still walk a middle line of being very conflicted and unsure, and if Fuyumi would blame him the most, for abandoning her and inadvertently leaving her to sacrifice most of her childhood and getting a higher education to look after the house and her younger brothers, as that had been a shared responsibility previously.
If you made it this far in the post, thank you so much for reading! Most of this is just speculation, but itâs been on my mind for a while so with the final reveal out of the way I have long been prepared to rant about the significance of Touya in Natsuoâs life and how his return would affect him. Iâd love if youâs be willing to share your thoughts on all this before the next chapter.
Peace!
I love this post because the replies are like "for anyone who doesn't know what nestle did, they benefited from [insert human rights violation here]" but nestle has done SO many fucked up things you get a different topic in every comment
Nestle has:
Drained water from places suffering from drought for absolute pennies.
Made African mothers dependent on their milk formula, which they gave for free, until their milk dried up. Then they required them to purchase it, mothers could not afford it, mixed in too little to fulfill nutrient needs, and mixed it with polluted water. Children died.
Used slavery to produce their cocoa.
Pushed for water to be considered a âwantâ not a âneedâ and is at the forefront of arguments that water is not a human right.
Poisoned Chinese infants with melamine in their milk formula.
Demanded Ethiopia pay a debt owed to Nestle, during a FAMINE.
Price-fixed food items.
Contributed to deforestation for their cocoa farming.
The worst thing is, Nestle owns TONS of other brands, making it difficult to avoid for certain products.
