Every night I look at my small child and feel a pain that words cannot describe.
I am a father trying to protect my family, yet I cannot even provide the most basic things for my child. We are living in a damaged and partially destroyed home that is no longer safe for human life. The walls are cracked, the roof leaks, and every strong wind makes us fear the house may collapse.
Our home is located near the yellow line, an area under the control of the Israeli army. Gunfire and explosions are part of our daily life. Many nights we wake up to the sound of shooting and shelling nearby. My child holds my hand tightly and asks me in fear, “Dad… are we safe?”
I wish I had an answer.
Recently, the situation has become even worse. Because of the war between Iran and Israel, the crossings into Gaza are closed, and the blockade has tightened even more. This has made life here unbearable for families like mine.
Food is becoming harder to find.
Clean water is scarce.
And prices are rising day after day, far beyond what we can afford.
We are living through extremely difficult days. Sometimes we sleep hungry. Sometimes we spend the night in fear, not knowing what the next morning will bring.
As a father, nothing breaks my heart more than seeing my child suffer while I stand helpless, unable to protect him from hunger, fear, and cold.
I never imagined I would have to ask strangers for help, but today I have no other choice.
I humbly ask the kind hearts of the world to help my family survive.
