Powerful lines from Spinel that hit harder the more you watch

So I’m sure this has probably been done already BUT I’ve been having too many feelings about this movie and especially about this precious new gem so I absolutely have to gush. After watching the movie the first time through, there’s a lot of double meanings to Spinel’s lines that really make her come to life. Obviously this won’t include everything because then I might as well just link the entire dang movie. These lines are the ones that I’ve just found myself thinking about more and more as the days go by since my first watching of the film.

Spoiler alert, most of these are going to be coming from Other Friends (but that’s no big surprise).

never understood why spandex suits make the sentais so friggin' stronger

To borrow a quote from Dr. K of Power Rangers RPM…

I mean, yes, in the real world it clearly -is- spandex but in the real world the monsters are just suit actors in latex and the giant robots are human-sized and on miniature sets. In universe, the suits are made up of different materials depending on the series. In fact, there are several cutaway illustrations made over the years of just what the suits are made of. Such as this one from 2017′s Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger showing the inner workings of the suit.

Or, going back a LOT further, there is this one from 1983′s Kagaku Sentai Dynaman:

We have even, on occasion, seen the inner workings of the suits on screen when they become damaged. Such as in this scene from 1981′s Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan.

So, though they appear to be spandex (or cloth or even leather) in the fictional universe of the series they are generally high tech marvels of compact electronics that provide a boost to the strength of the heroes wearing them.

Unless we’re talking Mahou Sentai Magiranger in which case they are basically just outfits that make their magic stronger because… magic.

Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away… An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the cat’s funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]

Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.

okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because it’s a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back

“Sun-tama-tama” (a pun off of “Santama”, lit. “third Tama”) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tama’s successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, “I will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.” [25]

As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tama’s Twitter account.
