sam is so freaking condescending when he thinks it isn't a case....

DEAN: I dunno. Unholy ground, maybe? SAM Un-- (stops, speechless) DEAN: What? If something evil happened there, it could easily poison the ground. Remember the, the farm outside of Cedar Rapids? SAM: Yeah, b- DEAN: Could be the sign of a demonic presence. Or the, the Angela girl's spirit, if it's powerful enough. Well, don't get too excited, you might pull something. SAM: It's just... stumbling onto a hunt? Here, of all places? DEAN: So? SAM: So -- are you sure this is about a hunt, and not about something else? --- SAM: You wouldn't step within a hundred yards of it. Look. Maybe you're imagining a hunt where there isn't one so you don't have to think about Mom. Or Dad.

but the thing is like sam and john are the one's whose hunting is primarily based on emotional whims. dean's whole life has been hunting because he wants to save people. and he's done that on his best days and his worse days. and, while dean is very reactive to the case seeming to be so similar to what john just did (to him), he didn't know that off the bat. he just saw evidence of a case and started working it.

and sam is absolutely wild for this one:

SAM: And you refuse to talk about it and you won't let me help you.

..... sam you have categorically ignored dean's feelings this whole ep. from pushing him to drive to bury john's dog tags to ignoring his very real evidence for it being a case. you want him to just say "oh you're right sam. the way you read my feelings is always right. i'm so stupid i didn't even realize." that's the only version of "letting [sam] help" that sam will accept. cause it certainly isn't listening to dean, trusting his instincts, or giving him space to process....

but anyway, dean's the one who ends up apologizing so what else is new.

DEAN: I hear you. Okay? Yeah, I'm being an ass. And I'm sorry.

I don't think non-native English speakers realise how charmingly their works read. please don't apologise for not speaking English. I love how your language's quirks bleed into the words and the sentences. it makes me very very very happy! it makes me want to try out new sentence structures! adopt new phrases! fuck around with the wording! it is inspiring!

Okay, I'm glad, because sometimes writing a post takes me a long time. Polish is so different that I often can't find the right structure or phrase in English to express what I want to say. Because of this, I don't write very often and rarely participate in discussions. Even now, I've re-edited it several times.
