Cerelyn Davis is as responsible for the murder of Tyre Nichols as the “officers” who killed him. She brought the concept for the Scorpion Unit with her from Atlanta. Davis is covering her ass, and she does not deserve any praise.

Police training is not and never has been the issue.

Police have already had enough training. How are you expected to “train” the police that it’s wrong to murder unarmed and innocent non-white citizens? If they don’t understand that simple concept going in, then they should not be anywhere near law enforcement jobs. The only additional “training” that police need is a long string of immediate arrests, prosecutions and life sentences in prison. And we need the same response every time, not just when the officers aren’t white.

If cities are serious about wanting to reduce crime, study after study after study has shown that the way to do that is by putting more money into healthcare, more money into jobs, more money into mental health services, and more money into city resources. Deciding to take that money and instead, put it into overfunding anti-Black police forces is a very conscious decision.

Was beaten by police so badly his family couldn't recognize him, they broke his neck in 3 places, and he died in the hospital 3 days later. What goes down at a traffic stop that warrants breaking a dude's neck in 3 places?

The 5 officers involved in the shooting have been fired, and people are demanding body cam footage.

Although the officers have been fired, there's further investigation in the incident going down. Apparently 2 officers were doing the initial stop, they started beating him. The other 3 officers, when seeing what was going down, didn't stop them but instead joined in.

And that's what we mean when we say a few bad apples spoils the barrel.
