I’ve been getting a steady trickle of new followers, so I figured I should probably make a pinned post.

You can call me Kit or Rosie. This is my weird amalgam of a personal and fandom blog. These days we’re leaning pretty heavily to the fandom side, since Mass Effect has reemerged as The Special Interest. You’ll also see some Fallout (mostly 4), Dragon Age, Locked Tomb, and Pokemon here and there (among other things). I’m not the best at tagging, but I’m trying to do better.

While I use my blog mostly to reblog and collect posts I like, I also do post my writing and I’m figuring out how to do nice edits.

I will also talk at length about my OCs with the barest provocation. The current favs are:

can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.

This is actually so interesting to read- it’s from 2012 but its full of the same anxieties, even some of the same phrasing that many of the guardian’s later pieces on transness use. really hammers home how much of the terfism that emerged in the late 10s was middle class mothers angry at a loss of control over their adult children- whether that be their bodies or their friends or their opinions- and making that everyone’s problem because they have the power to do so
