i am knappen! [k-napp-en]

i’m an artist and a writer. i make illustrations, comics, and fics about my OCs.

i love whump most of all!! and apart from putting characters through the wringer, my favorite thing to do is to create something disturbing, uncomfortable, familiar and heartfelt through narratives of trauma, intimacy, and plenty of pain.

trauma, psychological + body horror, identity, intimacy + eroticism, relationships, and survival are all big themes here. touches of lighter stuff too, as they come. lots and lots of heavy themes, nsfwhump and otherwise, check the CWs!

#oh yes……#injured whumpee begging the other not to do this.#maybe the enemies take the other instead and injured whumpee is left to reconcile with the fact that their partner is now hostage #potentially in a worse situation than injured whumpee would’ve been in.#their partner is alive and well and can be broken down so much further.#injured whumpee gets the medical attention they need. maybe after a delay #but still in time.#and all they can do is cope with the physical agony layered on top of visceral anguish #they don’t know if their partner has been rescued. they *can’t* know #they’re a useless heap of pain and dressing while the capable one was taken instead.#“it should’ve been me. it should’ve been me.”#on repeat.

it's my birthday.... my wrist got limp after a couple drinks and i started thinking about Kit lmfao. and then about how Ryder's birthday is on international hangover day, August 8 this year.

Ryder, Kit, and Ezra would go bar hopping in downtown Atlanta the night before on international beer day. they'd uber back as a trio and it's hell trying to keep Ryder at a decent volume on the way home after a night out.

the three of them plop down on Ezra's couch to watch Love Island, they pass their nighttime joint around as Kit keeps interrupting to show them reels and Ezra falls asleep pretty much mid-sentence at some point. later in the evening when both Ezra and Kit have fallen asleep before Ryder, Ryder just kind of feels at home tbh. he's got these guys and they've got him. three indebted trapped and traumatized whumpees getting hammered, laughing at stupid videos and celebrating a birthday like none of it matters for a while.

I love hidden injuries and the discovery of said injuries with all of my heart, but--

Injuries that are just too hard or even impossible to hide. Blood rapidly soaking through clothes and staining hands when trying to cover up or put pressure on wounds. Cuts and bruises in obvious, easy to see places where clothes can't cover or keep riding up. Bones very obviously broken. Injuries so painful that it's impossible to mask it, whumpee curling in on themselves or falling to the ground out of sheer agony.

The panic of whumpee wanting, needing, to hide the injury and pretend they're okay, it's okay, they can keep going, and the immediate realisation that it can't be hidden, and everyone around them realising something is wrong.

character b is in the hospital room, in a lot of pain as the doctors are cleaning their injury(s) or setting their bones. The doctors sent character an out into the hall, and now character a is leaning their forehead against the wall, knowing character b is suffering on the other side. Tears are running down character A’s face, and they’re shaking. They can vaguely hear crying coming from the room, and it’s physically hurting them. Please, kid. I’m right here. I didn’t leave you. Please be okay…
