Don't stand for racism

I have an American Government teacher who talks all the time about how he hates people who are racist or sexist, basically anyone who discriminates on anyone, ever. He also talks about how he knows he has white privilege because he is tall white and blonde, so he gets away with a lot of things. He was telling us a story about he was walking into a place one day and outside saw a truck with a confederate flag on the back that said "fear this" and so he went inside and up to the guy that owned the truck and was like, "hey is that your truck out there" and the guy was like "yeah its a pretty nice truck huh?" And then my teacher was like "yeah I noticed that flag on the back and was wondering what it is that I am supposed to fear" and the guy just stood there all flustered and my teacher was like " am I supposed to fear you? Cause I dont. Am I supposed to fear your truck? Cause I dont. Am I supposed to fear the south rising again? Cause I dont." All as he is standing in this guy's face with his chest all puffed up, the guy said he had it cause all his friends had it and my teacher said he chewed the guy out for it and the guy left feeling really bad about it. I have never been so impressed or respected anybody more than my teacher, I think that that was the best fucking thing ever cause I get that not everyone feels brave enough to stand up for what you believe and what is right but if you do please let someone know why what they are doing is wrong. Don't let the ignorant be ignorant force them to own up to their actions and confront what it is they are actually doing and representing with stuff like this.

Solving world problems one late night at a time

Ok so I know that when ever I get to tired I start questioning everything in the world and tonight's topic is American education and entertainment, first off why is it that someone who is above average at catching a ball in a game is payed infinity more than the people who are educating our future generations, like teachers get no credit for the fact that they are fostering the young mind of our children and the people who will one day be leading our country and taking care of most of us in our ripe old age but no one seems to think of this as a priority, like imagine if for just one season the NFL cut all of the players paychecks in half, because God knows that even 50% would be plenty to live off of and take that other half and put it into education and improving on how children are taught and how much access children have to quality education like how huge of a difference that would make and yet no one will ever try to change the fact that we funnel our money into watching someone play a game that at the end of the day affects no one's future rather than into something that could very well be changing the fate of America for future generations but we are all so singularly minded that we can only focus on what keeps us entertained right now rather than what can actually make a change and better all of our futures

Back to the future

After the back to the future day where we were all so excited that we were in that part of history, we made it to the future but just let that sink in, we are the future, just think of all the people who had dreamed of making it to a time like ours where technology is at our finger tips and the knowledge we have is endless and there has been woman's suffrage and racial equality and the right to express your sexuality freely (while these all Stull need some work) this is what people all over the world could only dream of for so long and there are people who never lived to see the day where women got to go to work and men got to marry the men they loved and we get to go to school with all races and ethnic backgrounds and yet for some reason we all look at what we have today like it's nothing, like all that the past has amounted to has lead to you, you tiny precious human being and yet you can't realize how much you represent, how lucky we all are to live in today and how absolutely incredible it is for us to have all of these things but we still take them for granted, it took all of human history to create today in a moment and yet for some reason this generation feels entitled to more, we are the bright future that so many people looked forward to but none of us can even regognize that significance everything that anyone has ever done has lead to today, has lead to this moment in time, I think we could all learn to appriciate that fact a little bit more
