Modern Day AU where Laios is really into eating insects.
Monster Tidbits - Wolfman/Werewolf
i like the gay little magician
death will not do us part you stupid cunt
you cant be saying that White Baby.
Something the youtuber Mother’s Basement pointed out:
-The only human culture Laios takes an interest in is the eastern archipelago
-Laios deliberately named his sword Kensuke, a Japanese name, despite the fact that everyone else in the region and his family all have European sounding names
Conclusion: Laios is a bit of a weaboo
#UGHGHHHHH THIS IS WHY THEY SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH THE FUCKING WORDPLAY IN THE OG JAPANESE#sth sth ken means sword suke is added to masculine names HIS NAME IS SWORDBERT HIS NAME IS MISTER SWORDSLEY#UGHHJJEAGJJ nevermind. i do not cake#care
Genuinely, having read the story and being familiar with the translation conventions, I think that that was an intentional choice. Characters in the story choose names deliberately. If Ryoko Kui had wanted Kensuke to be "Swordbert" she would have named it "Swordbert". One of his childhood dogs was named "Dustrag", not "Zōkin". Ryoko Kui names things very deliberately, and in retrospect I think the translators made the right choice, and that if she had wanted Kensuke to be "Swordbert" she would've spoken up when they were making the anime.
Also:
Per the official guidebook, Laios explicitly thinks of Toshiro primarily as a foreigner.
