I feel like a lot of us on tumblr, today especially but all too often, are posting silently hoping that someone will see the struggle we’re going through or the pain we’re not sure how to talk about outside of our blogs.

So if that’s you tonight, I just want you to know that I see you. I see the pain you’re carrying, I see how you’re afraid to say it for fear of making it real and I see how you need so badly to say it just to feel like anything’s real at all. I see how much it hurts. It’s okay to say what you’re experiencing, it’s okay to open yourself to the reality of what you’re feeling. Remember that in time you can also leave it behind.

I want you to remember that you’re not the only one feeling this right now, and that it’s not the only time you’ve ever felt like this- you’ve gotten through this before and you will get through this time too. I hope you can feel the light again soon. It’s okay.

Bills all past due. Car bout to get repossessed. Living in a constant existential crisis.

I had been waiting to watch Steven Universe Future for a while because I knew once I finished it...it was over. And I would be sad. And here I am.

I know it was a “children’s” show...but it was SOO good. And it really helped me feel some joy through some dark times. It was an incredible journey with a fitting ending!

The screenshot above shows the status of each state as of August 16, 2020, but it’s worth clicking through to check the current status for your state to see if the status has changed based on lawsuits and/or policy shifts.

Go to their voting resource page and click on any state to see the details on voting by mail/in person for that state, along with voter registration and ballot request/received-by deadlines and any ongoing legal proceedings that might affect voting access. For example, here’s Pennsylvania’s:

This reminds me, if y'all haven’t heard of therapyforblackgirls.com please visit if you need a therapist. You can search by mental health need, location/distance, insurance, etc. I believe there are some that provide a sliding scale payment method for those without insurance.

If you’re not quite ready to make the jump, there is a podcast you can listen to as well as articles and links to help answer some of your questions about mental health and/or therapy.

The purpose, as I understand it, is to provide a place where black women can go to find culturally sensitive therapy. Some specialize in family/couples as well.
