So I just became a new part of the soc and grishaverse fandom and what I see disgusts me a little.

I see many people out there judging Freddy Carter because they don't think he's good enough for kaz. The damn show isn't out yet. You've seen no trailers or anything that includes kaz brekker (like, freddy carter in character).

So how can you feel okay with it to say horrible things to an actor even though you've never seen him play kaz? Is it because he doesn't look like an insta-f*ckboy? Or the dudes from pinterest you use for edits? Is it because his face isn't picture-perfect?

Yes?

Well, I personally have NEVER read in the books that Kaz is incredibly handsome, flawless, lookin-perfect. See, there are characters in novels that ARE described like that, like will herondale or jace. But I don't think the point in Kaz' character was to show people how good looking he is.

So accept it. You can give a show character a chance even though he doesn't look like that male model from the magazine. What some of you are doing is body shaming. Tell me I'm overdramatic, won't change my opinion.

Full offense but you are responsible for curating your fandom experience. You are responsible for making it a fun and safe place for yourself.

Don't like someone? Block.

Don't like a character or ship? Blacklist the tag and stay out of it.

Don't like a trope? Blacklist the tag and stay out of it.

Have boundaries? Enforce them. They're crossed? Block.

Someone asks you to leave them alone? Do it.

People tag triggers and squicks on this site pretty well and if you ask they'll usually tag it for you, so take advantage of it. But just because you're uncomfortable with something doesn't mean no one can make fanwork involving it. (I'm talking about dark topics, not, like, cp or anything else illegal because that is very much not ok)

Don't post hate in the character or ship tags.

Don't insult, harass, or demonize people for liking things you don't. Be mature and move on.

There are, like, actual problems in the world and petty fandom stuff isn't one of them.

Fandom would be so much more tolerable if people realised that none of this is a critically acclaimed competition for getting published by mainstream producers or any kind of paid product where you need some kindova customer-service provider-relationship,

but just something people do because they personally get some form of enjoyment, catharsis or satisfied curiosity from their fanworks or just wish to express their aesthetic or feelings.

If someone else's heavy and thematically dark emo thinkpiece about a certain character is too much for you, don't spend time out of your life reading it or harrassing the author. No one owes you an explanation or a background-check for properly tagged and warned content that they didn't force upon you. And similarly, if someone else's personally gratifying crossover self-insert adventure full of fluff and oc/canon ships doesn't do it for you, then you'd better stop, and realise that it wasn't written, drawn, whatever, for you specifically anyway, rather shared just in case you would like it too, and continue on with your scrolling. Criticism, when not requested, is not a blessing. It's just a way for you to vent your own emotions on someone else and you know it.

Call out bigotry where you see it, obviously. But just treat others with indifference rather than outrage if you simply don't personally like what they make for themselves. Realise that you're not a central piece in everyone else's fandom bubble.

It really isn't that hard.

Ahsoka Tano Username: snippy_tano - Got her account first because she’s the unofficial “Gen Z” kid - Her first videos are her learning TikToc dances - She convinced a bunch of the other padawans to do a group dance video in the temple - Had a video of her touring the Resolute, but Rex and Anakin made her take it down because her account is public - Got Anakin into TikToc (after some convincing. Anakin: It’s just not the same as Vine though.”) - Has a series on her account where she pranks Anakin - She is on Part 48 and Anakin still falls for the pranks - Made a video trying to teach the 501st the renegade

Anakin Skywalker Username: thechosen_one - Was reluctant to get an account because he preferred Vine - Ahsoka finally convinced him and he actually loves it - Posts workout videos and that’s where he gets most of his followers - Receives a ton of thirst comments on those videos - Padme created a fake account just to comment on his videos, she doesn’t tell Anakin though - Somehow his account became more popular than Ahsokas - She is very bitter about it - Tried to prank Ahsoka but she never fell for them so he gave up - Does videos where he explains what he’s repairing on his droids or ships - Created an account for R2 like how people create accounts for their pets

Obi-Wan Kenobi Username: obiwankenobi2 - Downloaded it so he could try and relate to Anakin and Ahsoka - Was confused and disappointed when someone already took his actual name so he had to put “2″ after it - Has a video where it’s just him looking into the camera trying different filters - Wants to delete it but no one will tell him how to delete videos - After awhile he gets the hang of it - Most of his videos are just him dueting and reacting to the stupid videos on Anakin and Ahsoka’s accounts - His fyp is full of cute animal videos -Get’s cyber bullied by Maul

Captain Rex Username: captain_rex - Got TikToc after Ahsoka taught the 501st the renegade - He still can’t do the dance right - Has a series on his account where he records all of Anakins dumb ideas and plans - He lost count on what part he was on - Created the offical_501st account - Him and his brothers in the 501st do dumb challenges on that account during their downtime - officail_501st has a rivalry between the offical_212th account - Each account tries to outdo each others challenges and get the most followers

Fives Username: itsfivesmyguys - Conspiracy channel - Started the rumor that their General was up to something with the Senator from Naboo - He has a lot of proof - Hardcase and him are the only ones who mastered the renegade - Did the tidepod challenge - Ended up in the medbay with a very dissapointed Kix

Padme Amidala Username: senetor_amidala - Uses her account to spread social justice issues - Also a way to show off her amazing clothes - Has the best hair tutorials - Collabs with Ahsoka to make fun of clothes when they go shopping - Does TikToc dances with her handmaidens  - Her fake account username is simpforskywalker - Uses it solely to put anonymous thirst comments on Anakin’s post to mess with him - Doesn’t tell him it’s her (Even though she uses obvious clues, but he never catches on)

Plo Koon Username: master_plo - Ahsoka helped set up his account - Only got it to make Ahsoka happy - His posts are just videos of random things with the weirdest audios - The Wolfpack and Ahsoka tried to show him how to use it but he just doesn’t understand - Doesn’t understand the humor of it all - But when Ahsoka shows him a TikToc she finds funny he will fake a laugh

Mobs of angry white people, protesting for their right to [checks notes] get a haircut—in the middle of a pandemic—yelled at cops, shoved them, threw things at them, and were nowhere near being respectful or peaceful, but for some reason, police officers didn’t mace them, didn’t shoot rubber bullets at them, didn’t tear gas them, and didn’t kneel on their necks and choke them to death. Qwhite interesting how differently white people are treated even when they disrespect the police and even when they riot over things like [checks notes again] their sports team losing or hell, even winning a game.

Willie Simmons has spent 38 years in prison for a $9 robbery. He had two prior convictions similar to robbery that he served time for. He was prosecuted under the Alabama Habitual Offender law and was given a life sentence for his third strike - stealing 9 (NINE) dollars. Sign his petition. 

Breonna Taylor was killed by police who were conducting an UNANNOUNCED drug raid, where they gave no request to enter. They bashed her door and entered, shooting her EIGHT times. They were in the WRONG HOUSE. 

George Floyd was killed by a police officer who knelt on his neck and suffocated him to death, after George pleaded with the officer and told him he couldn’t breathe. The officer had pulled him from where he sat in his car on an alleged FORGERY. You can also text “FLOYD” to 55156

ARREST THE OFFICERS WHO KILLED GEORGE FLOYD: The main police officer who murdered George is being kept in PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. You probably have heard he was arrested, but this is NOT TRUE. He was placed under PROTECTIVE custody because of the riots and “threats” on his life. 

If you know of ANY other organizations or petitions, PLEASE ADD TO THIS LIST. The fight for justice doesn’t end here, it will never end. northstar health collective, organized healthcare professionals working with anti-authoritarian groups

reclaim the block, a collective that aims to redistribute funding away from police and towards more community-oriented projects in minneapolis

minnehaha food shelf & calvary church food shelf are both centered in the south minneapolis area where the riots started. the grocery stores in the area have been decimated, so food shelves and food insecurity charities need a lot of love right now.

northside funders group is a philanthropic group in the twin cities that’s using all its funds right now for helping local businesses

migizi is a native american media/history nonprofit whose office was destroyed in the riots

we love lake street is devoting funds specifically towards rebuilding the lake street area in south minneapolis

the healing justice foundation is a national nonprofit that’s specifically focusing on mental health resources for bipoc right now

ctul is a nonprofit focused on low-wage workers and workers rights in minnesota

mpd 150 is focused on policing and specifically trying to reroute the conversation from “we need to change police procedures” to “the police need structural reform”

the spiral collective is providing funds for supplies, medic kits, and other things that protesters will need on the ground

unicorn riot is a media collective that has had people on the ground filming every night in minneapolis
