throwback to the time my partner put in his 2 week notice with a birthday card for a 2 year old

God, I wish I'd taken a photo of this, but when two friends of mine got married I wanted to buy them a Star Wars wedding card but could only find other occasions so I literally just crossed out and replaced words on it (with a heartfelt message inside, obvs) and it was magical. Did it with a cake once too. To this day I'm not sure what the emotion on the recipient's face was.

This is a huge thing ESPECIALLY with kids. To the parent, they lashed out when they were mad and forgot about it, expecting the kid to forget too. To the kid? It was a big moment that defined your relationship with your parents. Stuff my parents don’t remember doing or saying were things that to me spoke very, very loudly, that I was not safe to be open and honest with my parents.
