Dandy - They / It - White - Mid 20's - ADHD and likely Dyslexic - Art acct is @DandySphinx - Accidently deleted my original blog, working a bit on remaking.
I was trying to work on cleaning out old sideblogs last night and deleted my main on accident.
I’m gonna work on refollowing people but if I’m gonna be totally honest I don’t know how much I’ll be able to dedicate myself to a new blog.
I already contacted staff and apparently when a blog is gone it’s Gone, so my main that I’ve filled with inspiration for art and just things that made me happy over the years, and art account I’ve had since highschool are gone for good and I won’t lie. I’m bummed out about it. The fact that theres no grace period or any real failsafe for deleting your main and everything with it is. Kinda absurd.
I’ll see you guys around. You can ask for my discord if you don’t have it already.
Hiii its been like . Actually literally over a year but I’m gonna try to bother tumblr staff abt restoring my blog but I don’t think its gonna get anywhere and I just cant get myself back into using this blog
My discord and my bluesky are both DandySphinx if anyone wants to reach out to me otherwise..!
i'm old enough, i remember how they treated trayvon martin, this was a kid who got lynched for walking on the wrong street and they called his murderer a hero. they dragged trayvon's name through the mud, they called him every terrible thing under the sun and blamed him for his own murder. meanwhile if you even acknowledge the things that charlie kirk objectively was, the way he promoted himself, the things he proudly did, you're a disgusting monster. forgive me if i can't take that shit seriously
🇺🇸nationwide recall of dozens of dermarite soaps, creams, hand sanitizers, antiseptics, antifungals, analgesics, and other healthcare-oriented products due to potentially life-threatening microbial contamination🇺🇸
if this recall sounds familiar: this is a massive expansion of a previously announced recall by dermarite. the previous dermarite recall only involved four products. the new expansion issued on august 27, 2025 (FDA publish date 8/28) now involves dozens of products. I (rune! hello) did not make a post about the previous recall. the new list is LONG.
the expanded recall now involves dozens of different products intended to be used in medical-related settings by patients or by people caring for patients. including wound care. which is really fucking bad because they are all potentially contaminated with burkholderia cepacia complex, which can absolutely kill someone. these contaminated products were used in healthcare settings like hospitals and senior care facilities.
at least some of dermarite's products are/were also available for sale directly to individual customers from websites like walmart, target, and amazon.
all lots of all affected products within the listed expiration dates are now being recalled. see the giant bullet list below.
DermaRite Industries, LLC is expanding the voluntary recall initiated on July 16, due to potential microbial contamination identified as Bur
DermaRite Industries, LLC is expanding the voluntary recall initiated on July 16, due to potential microbial contamination identified as Burkholderia cepacia complex. Out of an abundance of caution the voluntary recall has expanded to include additional products and lots, which can be found in the table below. Please see DermaRite.com for the original recall notice.
Risk Statement: Burkholderia cepacia complex in these products may result in serious and lifethreatening infections if the products are used by immunosuppressed individuals or by people attending to immunosuppressed individuals. For healthy individuals with minor skin lesions, the use of the product may result in local infections, whereas in immunocompromised individuals the infection could spread into the blood stream, potentially leading to life-threatening sepsis.
emphasis mine. sepsis is BAD.
dermarite products are contaminated with burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC). these are products often intended to be used on open wounds or by people treating open wounds. getting BCC in open wounds can mean nasty infections, including infections that can kill someone.
this is the link to the previous dermarite recall, which only involved 4 products, and was much more complicated in regards to which lots of those products were being recalled. the new recall is a lot easier: everything listed with an expiration date on or before 08/2027 is being recalled.
dermarite makes products intended for medical use, whether that is in a healthcare facility or not. in addition to being sold directly to healthcare facilities like hospitals and senior care facilities, (at least some of) the recalled products were also sold on websites like target, walmart, and amazon to whoever wanted to buy them.
notably missing from this recall expansion is "To date, DermaRite has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall." <- not mentioned. there is a possibility that adverse events, including infections or death, have been linked to this microbial contamination since the previous recall was announced. if this is not the case then maybe dermarite should update their recall announcement. if this is the case then they should own up to those adverse effects and list them in the recall announcement. come on, do better!
The products included in this expanded voluntary recall include:

the above is a helpful description of some of the products being recalled, but it is NOT a complete list of recalled products. not sure why they only listed a description for some of the recalled products here. I (rune) list all the recalled products a little further below.
The recalled products were distributed nationwide in the United States and in Puerto Rico.
DermaRite has notified its distributors and customers by e-mail to immediately examine available inventory and destroy all affected products in accordance with each facility’s process.
...
Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this product or have questions about whether the product was used in their health care facility.
this is one of those cases where these products are often used on or by people who may never learn the name of said products. reach out to your healthcare provider to find out if they use any of these if you are so inclined. at least some of these products were available for purchase to some extent by non-healthcare facilities, so they are also in some people's homes.
the recall announcement says that all affected products should be destroyed.
alright time for the fuckhuge list. I could either do it indented like a quote or bullet list so I picked bullet list to make this a little neater and a little less painful for everyone. (hey tumblr: can we do bullet lists in indented text? that would be so cool. or tables. can I have tables one day? could really go for some good tables.)
Product Description - Item No. - All lots on or before Expiry date
long story short: all lots of all of these products with expiration dates on or before august 2027 are being recalled.
you can view the labels of the recalled products here <- HUGE PDF link. no I am not even going to try to upload all those images to tumblr. it would be a bad time for me AND you.
for more information, check out the recall announcement or the dermarite website.
"Regulations don't exist because governments enjoy them" is an important statement here. The government has to spend money and labor to enforce regulations. The government has to be begged for years and sometimes threatened by the American people into even creating the regulations. The people with the money want you to believe regulations are "BIG GOVERNMENT INFRINGING ON OUR FREEDOMS" so you'll help them undo the regulations your grandparents had to force that same government to install in the first fucking place. They count on you being ignorant of the past so they can make another round of dirty money by poisoning you all over again.
It's also important to note that PBS-funded programs are trying their best to stay afloat despite this! If this news angers you and you have the financial ability to donate, PLEASE throw some money at your local public broadcasting station! If you don't have a local PBS, consider Oregon Public Broadcasting, which has been in continuous operation for over 100 years (first radio, then TV).
The US is openly punishing Brazil for the crime of upholding our democracy. In front of the whole world to see.
Read this and never forget Brazil is not the first and it will not be the last. Remember the Monroe Doctrine and Operation Condor. This is just an overt display of imperialist interference in Latin America's internal politics. But they've been at it for over a century.
