SR Silver Vanrouge - Nightmare Courier Vignette
"This is not a wolf I am familiar with..."
[Christmas Town – Street]
Jack: …Hm? Oh, it's Silver-senpai. Were you supposed to be helping out at the workshop today?
Silver: Hello, Jack. No, I can't say I was. I came here to ask a favor of Santa-san.
Silver: …Actually, this is great timing. What sort of present would you be happy to receive?
Jack: Huh? A present? Where's this coming from?
Silver: While I was talking with Ruggie and Kalim, I had an epiphany. I, too, wish to show all of you my appreciation.
Silver: So I thought I'd prepare gifts for everyone.
Jack: I-Is that so. But even if you're asking me what I want out of nowhere like that…
Jack: When I want something, I tend to get it myself, so… I can't really think of something off the top of my head.
Jack: Well, at least I won't do something stupid like complain about a gift. As for the others… Guess I can't say they wouldn't.
Jack: Anyway, I'd think it'd work out best if you decided on what to give all on your own, Silver-senpai.
Silver: On my own, hm. You're right… It is the thought that counts. Thanks, Jack, this was very enlightening.
[Christmas Town – Santa's Workshop]
Silver: Santa-san, is this a good time?
Santa Claus: What is it, did our Jack cause you fellows even more issues?
Silver: No, nothing of the sort. Actually… I came to ask if you'd allow me to make some presents.
Santa Claus: As in, not as part of assisting in my duties? Then… Who are you planning on giving the presents you make to?
Silver: My friends who came here with me to Christmas Town.
Santa Claus: Ho, ho, ho! Looks as though you've started to understand the true joys of Christmas.
Santa Claus: I can share the supplies with you, of course… But as I've explained prior, the elves who ran the factory were all taken.
Santa Claus: You'll need to make all the presents by yourself. Is that still alright?
Silver: Yes. That was my intention from the beginning.
Santa Claus: Well, fine by me, go on and make whatever your heart desires.
Silver: …! Thank you very much!
Santa Claus: I think it was around here somewhere… Ah, here it is.
Santa Claus: Here you go, supplies for making presents. Lumber, cloth, paper… You should be able to make most things here with these.
Santa Claus: Well then, if you're planning to be here in the workshop, I'll go check on my sled. Call me when you're done.
Silver: ...Santa-san truly is a wonderful man, with how he freely gave his permission without hesitation.
Silver: Now then… I should start making these presents.
???: …Huh? That lobster man ain't in the workshop.
???: You're right. Instead, there's some guy I've never seen before.
???: What's he doing…? Looks like he's making something.
Silver: What should I make? …Oh, I remember in the past, my father would carve little finger puppets out of wood.
Silver: A few were shaped strangely, but what made me the happiest was that my father had made them while thinking of me.
Silver: …I got it. I'll first make Jack a wolf plush. I could give it a more Christmas-y look about it, too.
Silver: What comes to mind when I think of Christmas…? A star, perhaps? Those were decorating the tips of their trees.
Silver: I suppose I'll give the wolf plush a star necklace. I should be able to do that much.
Silver: I'll start by making the necklace as a bit of practice.
Silver: First, I'll draw the star shape I want to cut out on the fabric… Oh, it's crooked.
Silver: I should be able to make adjustments when I cut it out… Hm. It's not cutting very well. I'll have to start over.
Silver: If I simply try over and over again, I should get the hang of it and the shapes should start to look better.
Silver: …It's no use. No matter how much I try, the shape is still completely uneven.
Silver: Urk, am I truly this inept…!?
???: …AHAHAH! HE'S JUST CUTTIN' UP ALL THAT FABRIC TO MAKE TRASH!
Silver: …Hm? Who's there?
Silver: Are those… children?
Barrel: Hey, silvery-hair dude!
Shock: Leave the toy-making to us!
[Christmas Town – Santa's Workshop]
Silver: Christmas Town also has children, I see…. Lock, Shock, and Barrel, you said?
Silver: I am Silver. Nice to meet you. Have you come to visit Santa-san?
Shock: Nope, we came to help you out. You can leave making toys to us.
Silver: That is very helpful. I'll gladly accept your assistance.
Silver: I was attempting to make a star to go with a wolf plush just now. However, I was having issues cutting it out well.
Shock: Uh-huh. Gimme all that messed up fabric.
Barrel: I'll gather up some other stuff… And throw in some rocks, too! I'll use glue… like this!
Silver: Will sticking together all my failed attempts… truly be able to make a star?
Silver: What amazing skills. I could learn a thing or two.
Barrel: DONE! LOCK, CATCH!
Lock: ALRIGHT, TIME TO KNOCK IT OUTTA THE PARK!
Shock: Dummy, where'd ya think you're sending it?
Silver: Wait, you three. Please stop making a racket indoors.
Silver: Besides, weren't you here to give me assistance?
Barrel: Yup. What do you think we made?
Barrel: NOPE! We put together trash to make an even bigger trash.
Silver: T-Trash… I see, so my failures are only worthy of being trash in the end…
Shock: Now that the trash's outta the way, let's keep on going, Silver.
Silver: I do feel as though it became even messier after the trash ball earlier crashed into the shelf causing it to collapse.
Shock: Well, your taste's pretty weird! What were you trying to make, again?
Silver: R-Right. It was supposed to be a wolf plush. …I'll leave the star pendant for later. We can try working on the plush's body now.
Lock: Okay, let's make one as scary as the boss-man!
Silver: We should draw the wolf face before cutting it out. Wolves have a fluffy silhouette, ears that stand tall, and…
Barrel: Obviously, they got 8 ears! We gotta draw a ton… Like this!
Silver: E-Eight of them? Perhaps that's native to Halloween Town wolves?
Lock: Chop, chop chop~ I'll add a few horns too!
Barrel: Ahaha! I can't tell what's a horn and what's an ear! It's just spiky all over!
Silver: THERE'S NOT ONLY HORNS, BUT SPIKES NOW, TOO!?
Silver: This is not a wolf I am familiar with… I wonder if Jack would recognize this creature.
Shock: Hey, don't just stand there, Silver. Now that the fabric's cut, you gotta sew it together. Here's the needle and thread.
Silver: …Understood. I'll take care sewing.
Silver: ...Why are you cutting off the areas I just sewed together?
Lock: To fix it so it only has two ears, duh.
Silver: B-But, you just said that a wolf obviously has 8 ears.
Shock: Huh? We didn't say that. Anyway, just sew it already, we can't continue 'til you do!
Silver: BUT! …Ah, I get it. However, I ask you to not lie any further.
Silver: Lying will only cause you to lose faith in yourself. You should not do such things.
Barrel: We'll do as you say.
Silver: Good responses, you three. That makes me feel better.
Silver: Well then, let us continue. …Is this good enough, you think?
Shock: Probably? Next we gotta give it fangs.
Lock: Hey, Silver, give it these fangs.
Silver: Oh, thank you, you'd already prepared them for me? …Something feels a tad sticky. Hm!? It won't come off my finger…!?
Lock: I slathered it in the rest of the glue!
Shock: Ahaha! Now you became one with the plush!
Lock: Oh, you wanna be part of the present too, Silver?
Barrel: Time to wrap Silver up!
Shock: What should we stuff in the bag? Spider webs? Tons of bugs?
Lock: We can wrap his body up in lots of rope!
Barrel: And then we can scratch in the gift message on his face!
Silver: Wait! Just wait a moment! We've completely been sidetracked from making the wolf plush!
Silver: Urgh, I had no idea dealing with children was this difficult. I can truly feel just how amazing my father must have been…!
Lock/Shock/Barrel: WHAT'RE YA MUTTERING ABOUT NOW!?
Silver: …You three said to trust in you for your help. Was that all a lie?
Barrel: We're totally helping.
Silver: However, you keep getting distracted. Before all this, I would like you to see this task til the end.
Silver: I would like to make a good present.
Lock: What's considered a good present?
Silver: Well, that's hard for me to explain. …I think it would be a present that is made from the heart.
Silver: A Christmas present should bring a smile to someone's face. I would like to see those smiles on everyone.
Silver: Just as my father did for me when I was younger, I want to also do my best here.
Silver: That's why for this plush, I fully intend on taking in any of your good suggestions.
Silver: I'm sure Jack will appreciate a cool-looking plush. If having 8 ears will make it cooler, then we'll do that.
Silver: …Oh, and if you guys also end up liking the plush we made, we can make more of the same later.
Silver: It would make me happy if you three also had presents to enjoy.
Barrel: What's with this guy…? I don't get what he's saying at all.
Lock: He keeps looking at us like he wants to give us headpats!
Shock: No way. That's just super creepy!
Lock/Shock/Barrel: [shudder]
Silver: Now then, there's still much to make.
Silver: Please lend me your help, you three. We'll make a fantastic present!
Lock/Shock/Barrel: Y-YESSIR~~~~!
Silver: I'm glad you're finally listening. Let's all work together to get this done!
