Currently thinking about how Copia and Perpetua are two sides of the same coin yet again in the way they fit into the vampire niche (at least from how I conceptualize it in my mind)— both fall into the more “traditional” vampire (think old castles, reclusive count, very gothic romantic, etc.) but Copia fills the niche that is Dracula (in the overall pop-culture sense and in line with the Dracopia thing) while Perpetua fills the niche that is Nosferatu/Count Orlok.

They’re both very obviously reminiscent of one another with significant similarities such as some aesthetics, obsessive infatuation themes, possessive, hungry, etc, but there’s definite differences.

Copia is more of a man controlled by an animalistic appetite and Perpetua is more so an animalistic appetite in the shape of a man. They’re both inhuman in their own regards but Copia feels as though it’s from a standpoint of something lost, while Perpetua is from a standpoint of never being. Or even Copia is the hidden danger, his motives and insatiable hunger hidden below the surface, he lulls his victim in through his romantic song and dance, the facade uncovered only once it’s too late. Perpetua bares it fully from the start, the ravenous spirit obvious yet still fails to dampen the odd alluring draw that pulls his victims in.

But then again, this could all just be my concept of them as vampires—
