The Voices

Calling, informing, telling

Me things I don’t want to believe.

They tell me the things

I fear, I cherish, and loathe.

My past that voices unlock.

They call to me

Whispering, yelling about my choices.

They control me

Pushing me to the limits.

I don’t want them to rule my life

And yet they do.

Words crash down, arousing me

Into a frenzy of panic and despair.

For I don’t want you in my head ever again.

Two years ago is when I found out I had anxiety officially after having it since I was eight. It was an interesting time, but now I've got enough of a handle on it to function without medication (even though I was never on it to begin with).
