The Trump administration is cynically exploiting calls for stricter AI regulation to pass broad censorship measures at the federal level.

So, in terrible news, Trump's trying to pull some strings to pass this massive internet censorship bill, featuring all the kinds of internet censorship we're terrified of, including mandatory ID for accessing basically any website, specifically to crush state regulation of AI, because apparently this man will always see the moral bottom of the barrel and start digging.

So, if you live in the US and hate censorship and AI you know what to do, contact your congresspeople and tell them do not fucking dare let this through or so help us god...

For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

We are now trapped in the shrinking areas left for us, confined to less than half of Gaza with no real life left to live, no safety, no basic necessities, no future. We live among rubble and destruction while insects, rats, and disease spread around us. Israel continues destroying families, children, women, and the elderly with no consequences, while the world watches in silence. It feels as if they are only waiting for people to grow tired of hearing about Gaza so this horror can continue unseen.

And we are just one of those families, a father, a mother, and four children trying to survive this nightmare alone. Today, we depend entirely on donations to buy food, medicine, clothes, and the most basic needs for our children. This is not exaggeration or emotional wording; it is our reality. You've probably missed it, but since the two week ceasefire agreement with Iran that included all of Iran's allies and all of the US's allies, Israel has been bombing the hell out of Lebanon non-stop in what they are calling Operation Eternal Darkness, a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and a senseless slaughter. They are bragging about how they performed "100 strikes in 10 minutes." It is worse now than it has been at any point prior. More than a million people in Beirut have been displaced. The casualties are unknown and unknowable.
