I think I'm experiencing the benefits of the botox! I woke up with a migraine but as I got up and made coffee, the pain started to lessen. I'm not sure it's preventing migraines yet but I think I'm seeing it decrease the severity of the ones I get. I'm so happy! It can take up to three treatments to see the full benefit so I'm glad to have some improvement with just one.
I'm going to try to run my errands after lunch and we'll see how it goes.
Because I skipped a couple weeks and I needed to use all my class credits before the end of the month, I went to pilates tonight. This class was so intense. I might wait until I'm more experienced to go with this instructor again. She did teach us an awesome way to release our upper backs that I might use in the future though.
Here's hoping I don't get migraines this weekend - I have a few errands I want to run.

incredible advice unfortunately
easy to miss that one of the reasons maternal mortality is diminished so extremely by modern medicine is that modern medicine makes it so much more possible to identify the pregnancies that will die and take you with them, or are otherwise unacceptably high risk. and then discontinue those ones safely, before it's too late.
thought about this because it's so frustrating when people argue that 'dying in childbirth' is a historical sort of event that doesn't happen nowadays (false) and therefore is irrelevant to the legal status of abortion, since it's not a real danger.
except it super is, and i think a lot of people haven't noticed that this argument in addition to simply being incorrect is basically the same as when people say we don't need vaccines for deadly diseases because no one gets those now anyway.
like yeah one reason for that is we vaccinate everybody ffs.
I kinda wish they'd put zac oyama in the grant room as one of the grants
immediate top 5 game changer episode btw there’s just so much to love. the slow reveal of the rooms. ify being the first to lose in room 1. catherine mccafferty being the episode’s main character and breakout star. the set design for all of the rooms but ESPECIALLY the spot the difference ones. 25 grants. the friendship(?) between hannah and the bouncer for room 2. demi accidentally plotting his own downfall by saying pop goes the weasel at the same time as hannah. sam trying to fill time while waiting for a player to win their way back up. the pic pong got him. a true fucking delight all the way down and back up again
I have a bit of a headache, but I think it's a cervicogenic headache. The pain started in my neck and I have tension through my shoulder. I think I pulled my neck a little in pilates the other day. I grabbed some pain cream and applied that, which seems to have kept it from continuing to escalate.
It's nice and chilly today so I'm enjoying it with the windows cracked.
Oh wow it's an actual thunderstorm! That's so rare here.

women have no idea how hard it is being a man. for example, [describes an experience that is not at all exclusive to being a man]
and the sequel [describes an experience that is more common or worse for women but isnt taken as seriously]
i love you archival work. i love you alphabetizing. i love you sorting. i love you reshelving. i love you document restoration. i love you shelf reading. i love you inventorying. i love you analysis. i love you archival work.
Possibly my spiciest take is that it's actually good to have people you respect and like that have some dogshit takes.
I think part of what is making young people lonelier, in discussing why they're increasingly isolated, is that they're so afraid of meeting someone who doesn't hold their same beliefs, and instead of being just core beliefs it is kinda ancillary shit.
It's actually okay to disagree even on social topics! Even on some political ones! But I mean, online you can start with "i love this mutual but they have a really bad/uninformed opinion about x media"
I know this is IMMEDIATELY going to be taken in bad faith, and yes babygirl, you are so right, I DO want you to go make best friends with both the KKK grand wizard AND your nearest nazi leader.
But seriously, as someone who has spent two decades doing community organization: finding ways to connect with different people is so so so important. There are people i follow here who ate 80% smart and their brain falls out of their head 20% of the time and that is GOOD FOR MY MENTAL ECOSYSTEM AND GOOD FOR LEARNING HOW TO BE A PERSON
LET'S ALL GO PISS ON THE POOR
It’s also good to assume you probably are the friend whose brain falls out 20% of the time.
We all have blind spots, assumptions, and dogshit take from time to time. They can’t all be winners.
letting family members sit in for dead senators is just monarchy logic im appalled that this has even happened before
Each state gets to decide how their state is represented in Congress
This has been a common method for a long time in some states
The idea is that a Senator's sibling/spouse/parent/child knows their intentions and policies better than a political rival or a random person would. It's a pretty good way to prevent political assassinations tbh
An unelected individual getting grandfathered into a real political position due to their blood or legal relationship with a deceased elected official is not pretty good actually
