cartoons weren't original back then either. many of them were reboots and adaptions of books and comics or toy lines. the bad ones just got lost to time. modern cartoons seem worse, since you have to be there and wade through them when they come out. There's no real difference there except that people nowadays think more negatively of any idea that's not a BILLION perfect original. (And then ignore the ones that are. But that's another kettle of fish.)

anyway cartoons back then seemed better because the bad ones weren't memorable and got lost to time, and they only seem worse now because you have to wade through the bad ones as they're produced instead of being able to look back and forgetting they exist.

New she ra is original anyway as even though it takes core ideas of the show it puts a totally new spin on them, with entirely fresh ideas!

and if "anything other than reboots" is your idea of original, I have some news for you about modern cartoons:

- miraculous ladybug

- literally like every other show other than v*ltron, carmen sandiego, and she-ra

are all modern cartoons, all unique

and don't act like there weren't reboots in the past because there so was.

I've been staring at this for a few minutes but there's a bit to unpack

1. TERFs aren't the only transphobes. there's dozens of kinds of transphobia and you never know who'll come out with it and it's natural to feel unsafe as a trans person around cis people. like I struggled even watching himym with friends because at first they laughed at transphobic jokes, even though they knew they were harmful. They're good in most other regards, but they regress to laughing at transphobic jokes and making a mockery of trans women. I hate that I have to be always wary of that! (One meaning of I hate cis people, maybe)

2. trans people can hate cis people as a general because of the power and privilege they hold over them, this doesn't mean that they hate... Every single cis person. also structural oppression is a thing which people feel resentment for.

3. Why does a trans person expressing anger make up so upset? is it because you don't receive constant validation from strangers for being a Good Ally and you NEED to assure OP you are? Is it because maybe you are trans and you've only had good experiences with cis people? is "decent" enough in a world where we need strong, active allies that DON'T speak over trans people (which you're doing a little bit) and instead boost their voices?
