Wrapping his arms around himself, he sighed trying to get comfortable on the bench though it didnt really seem likely. He just knew he wouldnt be able to get to sleep nor did he think he wanted to anyway. Hearing someone pulled him from his own thoughts and he noticed Clara. “Um oh hi.” He forced a smile back to her not wanting to startle her as he shifted and tapped the empty space beside him in case she wanted to sit down. “Have I really changed that much?” He joked but his laugh fell a bit short. “I couldnt sleep and I tried like watching tv but it didnt really do much so I went for a walk and ended up here. How about you?”
“No, you haven’t changed that much,” she laughed, shaking her head, her eyes falling to the empty space he patted, though she hesitated, listening to him speak. “Oh, I just... I couldn’t get the nightmares to stop.” She never could, but they were more intense this time. They were real. A sigh left Clara’s lips as she finally sat down beside of Gabe, resting her head against the back of the bench. She was tired, she as so tired, too tired to even come up with another excuse or dodge the question. Not to mention, she didn’t feel like she had to hide around him, he had already seen her at her craziest. So she might as well be truthful. “I don’t think they’ll ever go away.” The words were quiet, but then she looked over at him, forcing a smile. “How are you? How have you been?”
