I love God because he allows you to see beyond what you normally see, beyond your normal understanding to reveal what He needs you to see . As I’m reading the verse above, my immediate thoughts want to go to how this man was so sure about Ruth that he wasted no time behind her. & I was like yesss Lord that’s what I want !!! But then God was basically like I know & that’s all good and dandy BUT … realize that you also already have that in me 🥲🥲. And isn’t that absolutely beautiful. He wastes no time behind me , behind us . He leaves the 99 to run after those who are lost , who are confused . He wastes no time securing us , He wastes no time providing for us , He wastes no time showing us His mercy and His grace ! Everything we truly desire is FIRST and foremost in Him . We don’t have to wait for it it’s in Him & while we’re waiting for it it’s in Him ! Lol ! There is no lack in Him, He is everything we need 🧡

Wait on the Lord

As I cooked lunch for my sons, one of them became frantic. You would’ve thought his whole world was falling apart 😂, he was upset because he dropped all of the sand out of his crab mold. He panicked and cried & screamed trying to gather the sand. I found myself saying Josiah wait, just wait. I would come to help as soon as I was finished. And it made me laugh because at this moment God said “that’s what you look like sometimes”😂

Freaking out because things in my life aren’t working, and it looks like everything is falling apart. But if I would just calm down & wait, I would realize help is on the way. He’s looking down at me panicking and He’s saying wait, just wait 🥲😭

So after I finished what I was doing I helped Josiah pick up the sand & put it back together in his mold. And this is exactly what God does for us, He steps in picks us up along with everything else & He puts it all back together 🧡

So this is just your reminder when it seems like your life is in shambles.. God sees you, He hears you, & He is working. All you have to do is wait. Don’t panic, don’t trip , just wait. Help is on the way.

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

His yoke is easy, His burden is light. Focus on Jesus

Today I realized why the Bible encourages you to keep your eyes on things above, to keep your eyes on Jesus. Lately I’ve been in a low place. Hiding behind laughter, jokes, and smiles. Ready to settle for things less than what God has for me. And that’s exactly what the enemy wants you to do he wants you to be so focused on your troubles that you forget the promises of God. Not just the promises he’s spoken to you personally but the promises in His word. I found myself in a place accepting that life just sucks & that’s what it is. But God’s word says I shall see HIS GOODNESS in the land of the living. His word says he has plans to prosper me, to give me a future and a hope. His word says that if he provides for the sparrows how much MORE will he take care of His children. His word says that I can come to Him when I’m feeling burdened when I’m feeling weary and He will give me rest.

There is absolutely no love greater than His. He meets you right where you are … always. Lean into him, lift up praise in your times of struggle, in the times you feel like giving up. That is where your strength to get up lies.

Thank you God for always running after me , thank you for loving me so much that you chase after me in my mess to let me know you are still here, that you are faithful, that your word triumphs over all. That all I have to do is keep my eyes on you & you will take care of me.

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.””

Don’t fear the storm

Many times when we’re asking to be led by God into the new.. into things that may be uncertain we think the direction he steers us in is going to look sunny, it’s going to look like peace, it’s going to look like Joy. Sometimes that may be the case but often times he leads you in the direction that has a storm. You have to remember the enemy does not want you to pursue God’s will for your life. The Bible says do not be deceived by the tricks of the enemy. When you have in your mindset that the place God is leading you will look a certain way the enemy will place a storm in that very direction & have you thinking that’s not where God is calling me (Pastor Keion). Now you’re either stuck & stagnant cause you were sure that’s where he called you or you’re heading in a direction he didn’t say go.

God will cover you & lead you through every storm. He never said life wouldn’t have trials, so when you see them ahead don’t immediately say God isn’t taking me that way. Consult the Holy Spirit because that storm may be trying to keep you out of your destiny.

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””

Run to Him

Have you ever been tired .... tired of praying cause it doesn’t seem to work , don’t want to open your bible , just barely want anything to do with your faith because you don’t see anything moving ? Or maybe you’ve been in a place of shame , you’ve fallen short & don’t know how to sit before God because you think you let him down ?

I’ve been in both places many times. And I’ve noticed that these are the moments God speaks the most! He leaves the 99!! He is our shepherd!! Through any & everything God speaks to let you know I know things don’t look great, I know you’re tired of fighting , I know you’re getting weary. But don’t sit there, keep moving. I am with you. I know you made a mistake, I know you fell short but I sent my son to COVER all of that. I still love you, I’m still leading you, I’m still guiding you. Get back up & surrender all over again. Get back up & die to your flesh once more. Keep moving.

His word says he will never leave nor forsake us & that he is not a man that he shall lie . Don’t run from him, run to him. He wants to give you hope, he wants to strip off the shame. Not pile it on . I reference Jeremiah 29:11 a lot but that’s something I really had to write on my heart. God does not plan on leaving me in something that looks a mess, or at my lowest point. His word says he has plans to prosper me! His word says NOTHING can separate me from the Love of God . Let him be the God of healing, the God of comfort, peace, restoration & refining in your life. He wants to bless you, he wants to give you life more abundantly. So don’t ignore the ushering, don’t ignore the words he speaks through others, don’t ignore randomly waking up in the middle of the night . He wants to speak to you .

Don’t run from him in weariness or in shame. Run to him.

Release it

Pastor Michael Todd once said “ God will never ask you to leave a thing undone before he asks you to do a new thing “ Often times I’ve found myself holding onto things that God has told me to let go of with the hopes that he’ll bring the new thing first . I’m going to hold onto this job, this relationship and wait for him to bring what he promised me. It’s like having a just in case, but God doesn’t want you to have a “just in case“ when it comes to believing and trusting in him. He wants you to trust & to know that if he said it he’s going to do it. If he said it you’re going to see it. There’s faith in releasing, there’s faith in letting go. He’s looking for the first step out on the water. Letting go takes faith, & isn’t that always what God wants to see. Where our faith is, who our faith is in. If we’ll be obedient in our uncertainty.

It’s time to allow the door to close on what he wants you to release. You can’t lay hold of your future holding onto what God is trying to get you to leave in the past.

Release it.

I love this song because it reminds me of how loved we are by God. He seeks us, not when we’re perfect & feeling like we have it all together. He seeks us when we’re low, when we feel like a complete mess, when we’re hurt, confused, lost, when things look like they’re falling apart… when we’re broken. & He steps in to make us whole, to make us new. For that I say thank you, we say thank you!

Thank You God that my brokenness, my mess, doesn’t scare you or run you off. Thank you for being a God that draws even closer in those moments. Thank you for being a God that doesn’t search for the perfect things. That you see me and still see a masterpiece 🧡

Bound by desires

Desires can be innocent, they can be holy & sent from God. But desires can also be blinding & binding. For example , I’ve always dreamt of getting married. Meeting the love of my life , falling in love & enjoying loving the rest of my life by that man’s side . There’s nothing wrong with this desire, marriage is a desire given by God. It’s a holy covenant ordained by him. But my desire for it wasn’t coming from a heart postured before the Lord. It was coming from my flesh & flesh alone .

Therefore, how I went about pursuing this desire was unpleasing to God . My desire for marriage hadn’t been surrendered to the one who GAVE me the very desire ... so I didn’t even really know what I was looking for. I was chasing the counterfeit version, wondering why none of the relationships worked out. Wondering why I always knew deep down they wouldn’t last through the storms & weren’t meant for the long haul. Wondering why he continued to let me be uncomfortable in them. They weren’t from Him. But I still sat in these relationships .. uncomfortable, unhappy, feeling less than, & knowing this is not it ...because my desire to HAVE it was greater than my desire for God’s will.

But you know what the beautiful thing about God is ... he waits . He waits patiently, and once I was tired of letting my desires run me into relationships & situations that only ended in heartbreak on both sides he was there with open arms. Ready to lead me & to show me the true desire.. Godly marriage. the desire that would be pleasing to not just my flesh but my spirit & Him.

Do you have any desires that keep you bound to things, people, places that you know isn’t pleasing to God? Don’t allow your desires to keep you captive. Surrender your desires to God & allow him to reveal the true version of that desire. Allow him to renew your heart ... & then give you the desires of your heart. You are worthy of the real thing.
