Interesting - That character is one someone would want to out under a microscope and observe them. They have so many questions about them. They want to dissect them.
Entertaining - They make for a good show within the story. Whenever that character shows up, your attention is on them.
Sometimes, a character is either one, both of neither. A character necessarily doesn't have to entertaining, takes up the spotlight for you to go "hm, I wonder what that character's deal is". Sometimes a character doesn't have to pique your curiosity to make you laugh. They show up, you applaud and don't think nothing else about them. Sometimes, a character does both or neither.
