why is it that whenever i tell someone that i’m asexual the first thing they say is, “well if you’ve never been with someone how do you know? you should go out and try.”
i’m really tired of this.
People are like that with anything that falls out of the norm, and even when you play into their spectations or just had because life is a journey, they trap you all the same.
How can you be ace when you haven't been with somebody? How can you be ace when you have been with somebody?

In addition to chronicallyace’s reply, which is a good one, I’ll add that there have been some academic papers about this issue as well - in case you want to approach this issue from an academic point of view.
asexual explorations is a good website with overviews of published ace related research, in case you don’t want to wade through biology papers on asexual reproduction on your academic search engine of choice. It mentions one article on this subject in particular (Hinderliter, Andrew C. (2013). How is asexuality different from hypoactive sexual desire disorder? Psychology and Sexuality, 4. 167-178.). Hinderliter himself is asexual, so he knows his stuff :)

This is an underrated movie
This is a grossly underrated movie.
Can I take a minute to rant? Good. Cuz I’m gonna.
I FLOVE this movie. And I HATE all the stupid hatred it gets. For a long time the buzz was “finally a black princess yay!” and now everyone is like “Fuck this movie, first black princess and she spends the whole movie a frog.”
You know what? Fuck that. Because Ariel spent a good majority of the movie not talking. Mulan spent the majority of the move pretending to be a man. Aurora and Snow White? Asleep (Hardly in the movie at all). They’re all just plot devices, not designed to take away from the traits of the women.
And you know what else? Unlike some of the other princesses, Tiana is in control of her destiny every step of the way. When she turns into the frog does she lose hope and need rescuing? Hell naw. She busts Naveen over the head and gets the job done. She is consistently responsible and capable even after having her dreams crushed and turning into a freaking frog.
So don’t tell me that Tiana is “less than” just because she gets turned into a frog. She’s still one of the most hardworking, badass, and capable chicks in animated history and I love her like crazy cakes.

How does an asexual date?
Same as any other person would date at its core. If you are talking of a single date, not all dates end in sex. And if you are talking about relationships, everybody is different and thus has different politics about things such as sex. Honest discussion and compatibility play into it as any other.

No batsignal, but if you are really interested in meeting other aces, you can check if there are meet ups or groups in your state and, if not, try to form your own. In places like NYC and LA there seem to be groups for so.
