some spiderverse head canons (SPOILERS)
miles carries his sketchbook with him on patrols and will frequently stop and sit on the roofs of buildings or on top of street lamps to sketch things
he will also frequently leave a little “spider tag” on street art he finds on patrols that he likes
it becomes a mark of honor to have your art tagged by spiderman
he (obviously) struggles a little in keeping up with patrol AND school work because he’s fucking thirteen years old and being a student is a full time job and being spiderman is also a full time job
that being said, Miles gets exhausted a lot but he always manages to never sleep in class
his roommate helps him out - especially because he’s aware of Miles’ dilemma - and makes sure that they study together at least twice a week
Aunt May is a badass who owns the entire city you cannot convince me otherwise
that being said, she’s taken Miles in under her wing and helps him figure out the ropes and the basics to the best of her ability
she also mother hens the kid because he’s younger than Peter was when he got bit so she’s pretty protective but also knows that Miles can handle a lot so she doesn’t patronize him
so of course when he shows up at her door for their weekly dinner meeting looking absolutely run down - like bruises under the eyes, shoulders slouching, eyelids drooping - she tugs him inside by the wrist and sets him up on her sofa with a pillow and a big blanket
he sleeps for about four hours before waking up to the smell of pasta and slightly confused as to why he’s smelling pasta at 8:34 PM
she comes over and hands him a bowl and they just watch stupid TV game shows while eating their pasta
Aunt May has Miles’ parents’ number in her phone in case of emergencies because she obviously can’t tell them she’s looking after their son without giving away his secret, and as much as she wants Miles to tell his parents, she respects his decision, but she’s also grateful she’s never had to call them for anything
MJ knows about Miles too, but she’s a little less involved
she does however make sure that any media about him that goes across her desk is supportive and mild because he’s a minor and he’s doing his best and really does not need negative press at such a young age
she also is diligent about this because she remembers the shit Peter went through because of JJJ
Miles visits Peter’s grave once a month and he knows that he really didn’t know the guy, but he thanks him for watching out for him that first night Miles had discovered his powers, updates him on the stuff he’s done on patrols, sometimes he’ll ask him questions even though he’s just talking to a headstone
sometimes Miles also pretends he’s just back at the diner talking to the alternate Peter and that helps, especially when he’s exhausted
sometimes Miles goes to his uncle’s grave and tells him about the art he’s found around the city, about the sketches he’s done and always remembers to bring pictures
he also tells his uncle every time he sees his grave that he never let Miles down and that even after finding out his secret, Miles still looked up to him and thought he was cool
Miles often stops by the police station his dad works at or follows his patrol car when things are quiet in the city just to make sure he’s safe because Miles isn’t stupid and he knows how dangerous being a policeman is these days and he really doesn’t want anything happening to his dad when he knows he could have done something to stop it
