Im not saying it should be illegal to own more than two properties. I'm saying there should be a lengthy screening process in which you have to prove that the next property you're aqquiring will be used by you or loved ones at least x time of a year. I think it should be immensely legally complicated to aquire more than two properties. I don't think they should let you get a third one if you just want to rent it out. I think they should shoot you with a gun for that. Housing is not a buisness and it should be heavily regulated and I'm not joking about it. What the fuck does an average private person need more than a house and maybe a summer house for. They should take away the right to own numerous properties and im not even joking when I say it. You should get HRT on demand btw.

Being too disabled to work is not a “rich person thing.” People who are not allowed to have more than 2k in their bank accounts are not rich lazy upper class people lol. And if you try to argue that “well if you aren’t rich how do you expect to survive without working” I’d like to remind you that lots of disabled people who can’t work don’t actually survive.

Like it makes me insane how many people on this site don’t seem to realize that sometimes disabled people die if we don’t get the care we need. Your pharmacy lost a refill? That kills people. You’re stuck with an uncomfortable transport chair? That can cause pressure sores, which kill people. You don’t have an adjustable bed that can position you properly to allow you to breathe? Some people suffocate and die. These things that are framed as luxuries are literally life and death and it makes me so mad

Quick reminder that there is way to get around that frankly inhumane asset cap: ABLE accounts.

Most SSI and SSDI recipients qualify for one, anyone can deposit money into the account, that money can pay for almost anything (groceries, rent, etc), and both the yearly contribution cap and the asset cap are wildly higher than $2k.

It varies by state but at minimum an ABLE account allows you to have $100k before it it counts toward your $2k asset cap (I believe the highest is $550k). And if you do go over, your benefits are suspended—not cancelled—until you get back under the cap.

Tbc I think disability shouldn't have caps at all and ABLE accounts are a bandaid at best (and a ill-promoted one at that) but I've known so many people who would've been a lot better off with one of these accounts. If parents or friends could give them money for necessities without risking their benefits, if they could take a job or a commission without giving up their benefits, if they could save for the future at all.

ABLE National Resource Center is great tool. Please use it.

Also! Democrats got through a massive expansion of ABLE accounts under Biden-Harris so when that goes into effect (January 1, 2026) nearly all recipients will qualify.

I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

this has been happening a few times and now twice today that someone in my notes was marked a terf on shinigami eyes and I kneejerked to "oh shit what are YOU doing in my notes" before doing my due diligence and seeing if this is a correct mark and blocking

95% of the time if the url isn't a giveaway, a few keyword searches on their blog will show they're a terf, if not their bio or pinned. but now 4 different people in a week were trans.

I thought okay doesn't mean they aren't a terf so I dig deeper. And all 4 of them were non-exclusionary trans people who had reblogged or posted something recently defending various trans groups who get a lot of shit on tumblr. Trans people talking about transandrophobia, talking about tearing down transmedicalism, accepting trans people with "unconventional" expression/genders, or advocating for intersex folks in a way that challenges popular binaristic ideas on this site

This is wildly disappointing. All four of these people are clearly not terfs, but as I sat here I realized they are groups of trans people who get accused of being a terf by other trans people as a way to silence crucial community conversations that move us past bio and gender essentialism.

I'd urge people to do second looks at blogs marked as anti-trans and verify before just going off of the mark (not just for this but always as a good rule) and I'd hope if you are a trans person who marks trans people as anti-trans for challenging binaries and essentialism, you knock it the fuck off

iirc shinigami eyes has confirmed that they consider "afab transfem" to be a troll identity that would bring the community into disrepute that it's transphobic to support, and also that calling people "theyfabs" is not transphobic enough to lose someone a green status or have them marked as red. So yeah it's an increasingly unreliable tool for spotting people who are overarchingly anti-trans. Hate to see it!
