Inappropriate or damaging binding methods such as ace bandages or duct tape can cause long term affects, and can create more problem for those planning top surgery in the future. Here are a list of things to consider and why Love Boat is super picky on the binders we provide. 1. Binding Method: Please choose a binder over all other alternative methods. In the end, our chest is made up of cells and tissue, so safety and comfort is important. Binders are designed to provide an optimal binding result in terms of flatness and to maintain a good looking chest shape. Never call trans men FTMs or trans women MTFs without their permission
Trans is short for transgender, itâs not plural for anythingâtrans person and trans people are both correct
Never use âborn in the wrong bodyâ or âused to be a boy and became a girlâ or âbiologically/genetically male/femaleââall are just fancy ways to misgender someone (self identification with these phrases is different)
Transgendered is wrong, so is âa transgenderâ and âtransgendersâ
Being trans is not a sexuality nor is it a âsexual disorderâ or any kind of disorder at allâgender identity disorder is not a real thing, and being trans isnât a medical condition
âTranssexualâ is generally considered an offensive term and should never be used to describe someone without their permission
Donât refer to a trans personâs gender as their gender identity, itâs just their gender
Similarly donât refer to their pronouns as âpreferred pronouns"âtheyâre not preferred, theyâre mandatory
