fun fact, i'm obsessing over the miserables fandom again and i wonder if the fandom is ready for my montparnasse/r brainrot (and, to be fair my massive montparnasse/r/e brainrot)
well ready or not...
when you think about it it makes so much sense :
R is known to wander in Paris
Mont comes from a literal gang that roam Paris' streets
R drinks too much and we can argue he probably has passed out multiple time in the gutter
Mont is a lovable seductive asshole
Really, there's no way they have not met at some point
that alone wouldn't make a ship tbh but :
Imagine a modern!au where Patron-Minette has left the Thenardiers bc of their treatments of their children
They've picked up Eponine and the kids along the way and they've picked up Montparnasse at some point
The gist of it is : they also picked up Grantaire when he is cast away by his parents
So : Grantaire, Montparnasse and Eponine are like young adult and they are battling trauma together
And Grantaire et Montparnasse have a one-night stand situatioship going kinda
It's not perfect, it's not even really a good healthy relationship but it's an important thing because it keeps them grounded
They consider each other as the half of themselves but are too dumb to put this into words
Montparnasse deals with a lot of trauma due to a life doing crime and R is just so good at soothing that
They fight each others quite regularly bc they are way too stubborn and way too scared to lose each others
They sleep in the same bed and have a whole ass morning routine
The ABC and, moreover, Enjolras, are the biggest sore points bc Montparnasse feels they are not considering Grantaire enough
Meanwhile, Grantaire is the only one at Patron-Minette not doing crime and it's a bit hurtful to spend some nights alone
There's more to it but tbh : Montparnasse and R caring so much about each others that it can be kinda unbearable to look at, with a feralness born in trauma, and a love to absolute they forgive each other without taking the time to process the bad shit done by the others.
Aka : dysfunctional but not toxic montparnasse/r relationship
