Give me sick and sneezy women in uniform. No, I don't mean just military or law-enforcement uniform. "Uniform" can be used as a broader term describing so much more.
A doctor in her white coat refusing to go home even though she's sneezing all over the hospital, completely unsanitary, demonstrating how doctors truly are the worst patients. Or a nurse that's good at taking care of everyone but herself, but she's utterly sick. Her scrubs get sneezed on repeatedly, and not by the patients. Even a scientist or a lab technician trying desperately not to get snot all over her lab coat. Those are sick and sneezy women in uniform.
How about a business woman in a suite, sneezing helplessly during the most important presentation of her career? Maybe a politician trying not to sneeze on the people who's votes she trying to get? Or a lawyer making her closing arguments for a trial that can turn her into a star, but she has to stop every other minute to sneeze? Those are sick and sneezy women in uniform.
Women playing group sports are also a good example. They're trying to excel and beat the rival team while not letting their sickness get the better of them. Sneezing on members of the rival team might work, though it won't be in the spirit of good sports. Those are sick and sneezy women in uniform.
And yeah, sure, a high-ranking military officer trying to convince a room full of other high-ranking personnel that her strategy is solid even though she couldn't defeat a simple virus. Maybe a detective wearing police uniform, trying to not let her sneezes get in the way of cracking the case. Those are sick and sneezy women in uniform.
So many options, as well as others I've failed to mention, but you get the picture. There is so much that can be done with this trope, so I say once again: Give me sick and sneezy women in uniform.

Drooling over the imagery of a hot woman, drippy/sniffly, red-nosed, sneezing repeatedly and all in all clearly miserable, coming into a pharmacy in spring, appearing somewhat desperate, begging the employees to help her find something for her
A: horrendous cold that she just can't shake; she's been like this for over a week now and it just doesn't heeeISSSHHEW-ISSSCHHEW-AHHISSSHHOO! End! None of the OTC things that she has tried seems to help yet, and she has an important event tonight/tomorrow that she HAS to get through without being a sneezy, snotty wreck like this. It's such a bad cold, she's never had a cold like it, she never sneezes just once or twice since catching this cold, it's full-out sneezing fits! When the pharmacist tries to suggest that it might not be a cold but allergies, she refuses to take it into consideration. She has never been allergic to anything in her whole life. When she mentions that she recently moved here (aka hasn't experienced spring in this region before), the employee is pretty sure this is a case of brand new allergies, but she refuses to accept it. It's a nasty cold and she needs something so she'll get through tonight's/tomorrow's event (which of course is outdoors) without making a fool out of herself.

She is exasperated and stressed out because she has a super important event tonight/tomorrow, where she absolutely can't be this wrecked by her hayfever. She always uses [brand name antihistamine] but it doesn't seem to even make a dent in this drippy, tickly, sneezy purgatory she's been in since yesterday or so. Yes, she has tried other brands too; she needs to get this under control before this event, but none of them works. If anything, her allergies seems to get worse, her poor nose tickles so much.. huhhISSSHHuhh! No, she doesn't have a cold, it's allergies, she always has allergies this time of year, of course it's pollen making her this hahhESSSHHHew! tickly, drippy mess..! Oh, sorry, she's a bit careless about covering since it's just allergies, she's not contagi-iihhhISSSHHHuh!
Meet Mari!
She's a PhD student, researcher, TA to several undergraduate classes, and Eliza's roommate! She has a fairly good immune system when exposed to the normal amount of germs, of course living with Eliza means that doesn't happen.
She's allergic to pollen and gets very sneezy during the spring. She always stifles her allergy sneezes especially in public and is typically very conscious of covering and washing her hands after she sneezes.
That is unless she is REALLY sick.
In that case, her sneezes have a tendency to sneak up on her, and she tends to sneeze uncovered, whether that be straight down onto whatever paper she's grading or whoever she has the misfortune of talking to.
When she's sick and absolutely has to work in the lab, she wears a mask to avoid contaminating any samples she's working with. She would wear them out normally as well, and she does when she's a little sick, but when she's so sick to really need them, when she isn't able to cover by herself, her sneezes are so wet and frequent that she drenches them immediately rendering them useless. She would go through a hundred a day. So she just tries to avoid public places as much as possible.
Of course there are some responsibilities, like TA office hours, that are unavoidable.
Thinking bout character who’s sick and laid up in bed and every sneeze or cough is so ragged you just KNOW, audibly, not to get close. Character A who sneezes and character B who just knows there is a concentration of contagiousness in the space between their nose and their lip.
Meet Eliza!
Part-time waitress finishing her masters degree with a penitent for getting sick. She always seems to get the short straw of calling in sick when other people have already called out. Her boss has threatened to fire her for not showing up, and insists that it doesn't matter how she's feeling.
She has infected many many customers by proximity and ill timed sneezes. When she's sick, she finds it incredibly hard to keep germs to herself (not for lack of trying) and anyone in the near vicinity of her when she's sick is in for their own battle with whatever germs she picked up this time.

To anyone that ever thought about a robot/cyborg/ai character getting a sneezy cold through a computer virus, remember this:
You can PROGRAM a computer virus. Which means you can CONTROL how the virus is gonna affect them.
You can make them suddenly develop allergies to things they didn’t before. You can make their system believe there is always some debris in their ventilation system while there’s not. You can make them so sensitive that slightly colder air passing through their vents is going to set them off, or you can block the sneeze response entirely (but keep the irritation sensation or even increase it) so their vents would be endlessly irritated with no ways of relief.
Remember
If they are sick with YOUR virus, then they are completely at YOUR mercy.
Cold scenario w/ mess and contagion ☝️
Someone with such an obvious cold, red nose, sniffling and wiping their nose on a crumpled tissue.
When sneezes hit they only turn to their side, no attempt to cover and sneeze down towards the floor, obvious mess dripping down from each sneeze onto the floor. There’s a pause in between each where just when you think they’ve done they start up again.
It’s almost as if you can feel your own nose itch and a tickle in your throat from just simply being near them.
A who-dun-it mystery, but instead of murder, everyone involved is trying to figure out who first caught the cold that is slowly making its rounds around the group.
The same emotional reveal of the perpetrator, but it’s their reasoning for not revealing they felt bad earlier. No arrests, just gentle scolding and a warm drink.
a character whose just getting over one cold, not quite realising they’re catching another — the increased frequency of nose rubs, the shift from dry sniffles to wetter ones, their eyes watering more, sinuses growing itchier, most of which they put down to external factors, like temperature changes from outside to inside, dust or air con. and, after all, they’re still recovering so they expect to be more sensitive.
instead, it takes comments from others watching on, that they don’t seem to be looking ( or feeling ) better, are they taking it easy? and do they need some more rest? they do seem to be sneezing rather a lot .. for them to realise they’ve caught another cold.

I stumbled on the sneeze flash game from 2009 and I just can't stop thinking about if that was how illnesses actually works
Like someone is sick, they're out in public, sneeze on you and you INSTANTLY get sick. No real incubation period, just an itch in your nose that forces you to sneeze, and all the symptoms hit at once.
There would be no planning for the day after that. One inconsiderate person could immediately ruin hundreds of plans. And then each one of those people has a choice, do you immediate go home considering you're feeling so terrible and are already sick, feverish, contagious, and desperately sneezy or do you go about your day?
The fist in front of the face that catches absalutly nothing but just enough to count
The single hand placed an inch in front of their mouth with fingers splayed, doing but serve vanity
The head turn vaguely into their sholder in a gesture above sneezing in your face but still nowhere near covering
The face snapping towards the persons lap as the spray their own thighs and pretend they saved yours
The sneeze aimed at the wall as if diffusion doesent exist and germs don't stay
The wet spraying sneezes that cover their conferter and pillows as they petheticly moan about how itchy their nose is
The back of the hand placed against their mouth as they stay right where they are, not turning from you as they sneeze against their abismal covering
The head tilted as they sneeze towards the ground, not caring or not noticing the spray that hits your classped hands
The constant half covered sneezes that seem to shake the room as they seem to turn away only slightly
so... anybody else wanna get on the boat of 'not purposeful contation but we know how it happened' and just how weirdly hot it is?
I don't know why it didn't occur to me until now to make this template for use for a single character;; so I've finally repurposed it. it would've been fun to add more questions but I just wanted to keep it compact, cute & quick so.. here we are lol
