pumpkin spice latte is the hype in the west and everything that’s hip on the internet and in tv show. the thing is, the beverage seems to be nonexistent in south korea. what a shame. always 5 years late on the western trends when it comes to those things. so when she heard about a cafe having the famous drink, naturally she needed to go. it’s in those moments that she wished she had a personal instagram rather than a shared one where she can only promote herself once a month. the beverage is cool and all, but she certainly won’t waste such promo time on a picture of her a mug with a brown looking liquid.
in other words, she’s here, even if she’s a little late on learning about the spot. this is what it is to be a trainee; so busy and disconnected from the rest of the world that she’s missing on what other regular young people enjoy. she doesn’t expect to see another trainee here, and while her surprise is visible for a few seconds, her expression quickly softens and she waves back. “why you wanna know? are you volunteering to pay for my drink?” she asks almost too innocently.
he chuckles softly before pushing her shoulder gently with his index and middle finger. “well, if you want to get it, i won’t judge you.” he purses his lips slightly, looking around when his name gets called out from the counter. hyunsoo walks over and picks up his drink to take a sip of it. ‘gross...’ he coughs quietly before turning back to miso.
“i mean... if you--” then an idea pops up in his head. he brings his cup to his mouth to take a quick drink. he knew how competitive the both of them could get. sometimes a bit too competitive but it doesn’t hurt to just test out his luck, right? “how about we make a deal.” he grin slightly, “if you can drink... say... 4 large pumpkin spice lattes all in one go, i’ll buy you all the drinks you want for the next... 5 months.”
