“What do you have exactly?”
“Supplies. I’m just helping out places, doing whatever chores they may need..”
“With everything that’s happened, we’ve just got to move on with our lives, right? Easy as.”
“But somehow I’m still stuck in that moment. It’s just...rather fucking annoying now more than anything.”
“Can I help you with something?”
“No, I don’t need anything right now! Please stop asking me if I’m alright, okay? Just please..”
“That is the opposite of having this.”
“Now that you look at it, it’s horrifying!”
“Alright – guess that means you’re joining me then.”
“Oh, I don’t mean to impose at all. I was just...---no really, you don’t mind?”
“Oh. Um. Are you sure? Cause I don’t want to sound like an ass, but you don’t look like you are.”
“Then you’re really dumb in girl language. Tsk, tsk, have I taught you nothing?”
“It doesn’t look like you do, but if you say so go ahead.”
“Thank you. This box isn’t...isn’t heavy at all.”
“Are you an orphanage? Cause I want to give you kids.“
“That is so gross, oh my goodness.”
“What makes you think you can rationalize with me?” He said through a hard eye roll, his hand never shifting from the other’s shirt.
“I don’t think I can. But what has transpired was an act of violence, and I don’t think punching someone in the face is quite the answer to this?” Libby folded her arms across her chest, tensing under his gaze.
“Not true. Sex is great for aches and pains and alcohol is great for an aching heart. I’m telling you, it’s the best go to advice for literally any problem.”
“Can’t argue with that, I guess. Alcohol, yes. Sex, still on the table. And not to mention availability. There is way too much alcohol in this town than there are people.”
“– Doesn’t look like that to me.”
“Seriously Bishop...---I think I have this under control.” The smile was weak, and Libby didn’t want to be an inconvenience to him right then.
"No, don’t worry. I’ve got this.”
“– You think you can just make jokes about what happened and walk out of here?” He snapped, having not realized how much had built up since the incident at the fair. “How about you say it a little louder.. see how many people in this bar volunteer to break your legs.”
The bar fight that broke out scared Libby. When she saw the people in the center of it, she got up from her seat, instinctively to find the nearest exit and just leave. But she couldn’t; so instead she spoke up. “What makes you think violence is going to end anything?”
“Going to what? Might as well tell me, Libby.”
“You should probably go eat first. This can wait, promise.”
Grateful and embarrassed, the wolf just stayed silent as she managed to free him from the mud prison he had wheeled into “Thank you.” Sebastian said while wheeling around to offer the tetra a smile, one he meant though his lips wouldn’t quite reach as high as they usually would have “I’m having a little trouble with navigation – as you can probably tell.”
“Totally understandable. Mud is difficult to understand. Sometimes, it flows out of your hand and only leaves mucky residue. And then sometimes, it solidifies and looks like rut.” Libby shrugged as she pushed the wheelchair onto level land. She smiled back, awkwardly lingering around. “Are you going somewhere? Can I--Can I take you there?”
“What’s up with you?”
“Of course nothing. Is anything ever up with me? Everything’s down, pretty chill. Good too. You’re asking wrong questions though.”
“… Wait, what?”
“God in heavens...” Libby muttered under her breath. “Yes, I’m over Teri now.”
