Greatness is a lot of small things done well everyday.... I was born great..... It’s true I was born with greatness within me. We all were. You & I were born into greatness. Even though I was born with greatness it took me another 40 years to start living it. As a kid I was very sports oriented. I rode horses, played soccer, rugby league and cricket. Some I was good at some not so. As the years followed, sport gave way to work & earning money. So that became the goal. Earn money. Whatever job was going to pay me highest amount. That was all that mattered. Nothing else mattered. 💰 💰 💰. Let the good times roll. But the good times didn’t keep rolling. Money wasn’t making me happy anymore. Work sucked. Life just didn’t have that same spark anymore. Then at the age of 39 heading into my 40’s, I said life begins at 40. Turning 40 changed everything. It started the very day I turned 40. A relationship ended that very day. Breaking up with someone after 9 years on my birthday wasn’t my idea of a good birthday. But it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Since that day nearly 2 years ago, life truely did begin. I have grown into my greatness. The greatness that I was born into. The changes have been remarkable. I found my partner in life, I found my life’s passion. I found myself. I see a bright wonderful future. I dream big. I see greatness within me. I am now fulfilling my birth right. Many of you have only met me since the change. So you may well think I have been living this way for all my life. Those who knew me before know how much life has changed for me. I love my life. I love each & every day. I have purpose & a compelling future. How many times have you read this❓ I would hazard a guess and say a lot. True❓ I know I have, but can I honestly say I believed it❓Before I started to focus on myself I would have to say NO I didn’t. You see I saw failure as just that FAILURE. I’d give up, not only give up but blame everyone & everything for the reasons I failure I encountered. Wasn’t my fault. But since I turned the spotlight on myself. I take responsibility for what happens in my life. Sure I still make mistakes, but I learn not to blame outside influences. It’s on me. My beautiful wife hates when I raise my voice. It’s a habit that I’ve had for a long time. When she use to say to me please don’t raise your voice. I’d have excuses lined up to why it wasn’t my fault. Now I’m very well aware of this habit. It still happens on occasions but far less often. When it happens now it’s a reminder I’m still growing, still learning. It’s a life time pursuit. No quick fix. Start today master tomorrow. It’s not how it works. Setbacks happen. But now it reminds I’m still growing into the person I want to be. I acknowledge the setback and continue to learn from it. Identifying where you are is a good starting point 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣⬇️ For long time I was stuck at 1️⃣ Seeing others succeed, half wishing them luck & thinking I can’t do that. Then things changed in my life & I moved into 2️⃣ Ok now it’s possible but how❓I was looking for answers everywhere. Looking under every rock, nook & cranny for something! It wasn’t till I became so frustrated that I moved into 3️⃣. Now let’s find the steps. This is where things took off for me. This is where I started all the underground work. The roots of the tree were starting to be feed. We all love to see our tree grow, big & healthy. But for that to happen you have to feed the roots. Have I done it alone❓ HELL NO. Could have I❓ YES. NOTHING WORKS UNLESS YOU DO THE WORK Let me share a story with you all. A priest is out driving in the country one day. He sees a beautiful farm. So he stops by the fence to take in the beautiful sight of the farm As he leans on the fence the farmer sees him & starts walking over to the priest . The farmer & the priest exchange warm greetings The priest speaks to the farmer in glowing terms about his farm. He says to the farmer. God has blessed you with a beautiful farm here The farmer looks over his farm, scratches his chin and replies You should have seen when god had it on his own. The point of this story is: You have to put in the work. Our minds are the same we get of it what we put in it. I am human and I make mistakes 😉 Boy do I make a lot of mistakes! To be honest some days it seems like mistake after mistake occurs. These days test you the most. Some of the best mistakes are those mistakes that cost you time. Like when you’ve worked so hard on something only to delete it by MISTAKE. Boy did that use to make my blood boil 🤬. Other mistakes you laugh at. Those silly mistakes you make. Like knowing something is hot but you touch it anyways. I’ve done silly things like that. Laughed it off called myself an idiot. What we call silly little mistakes. But what is that we are really telling ourselves❓It’s ok to keep making them cause they mean nothing. But what about the bigger ones. Like the time I lost a lot of money cause I relied on someone else’s intel ❓ A lesson learnt the hard way ❓Maybe. Freedom is the oxygen of the soul - Moshe Dayan I’ve been banging on about freedom for a little while now, but not really getting a clear understanding of how others see freedom. A few months ago a friend said freedom is a slippery slope to go down & some freedoms shouldn’t be chased. We had a conversation about that & I felt misunderstood. But that conversation has stuck with me & has been a burning question that I’ve been searching for answers. Seems simple right ❓ I can tell you it’s not that simple. But with this quest to find the answer, it has lead me to teachings I have barely scratched surface too. You see it’s not a quick fix. No cheat codes to achieving freedom. I now understand what my friend was saying to me. So I have refined “freedom”. All this time I was talking about freedom of time, freedom of choice & freedom of career. But what I wasn’t understanding was it’s freedom of mind, that I was trying get across. Building willpower will offer you more freedom. Freedom is like house: you build it. That 1st brick you lay is willpower. This quality inspires you to do what is right in any given moment. Giving you energy to act with courage & gives you you control to live the life you have imagined rather then accepting the life you have. Believe me or not, building the power of will can erase worry, keep you healthy & give you more energy This is the freedom we should all be striving to achieve Want to know more. What are the books that have helped you along the way ❓ These are just 5 books that have spoken to and had an impact on me. There are many others but in one way or another these 5 have had deep impact on my thinking 1️⃣ Extreme Ownership- Really spoke to me about the choice is always mine. I’m in control of what I do & how results effect me 2️⃣ Conversations with God - Not the easiest books I have read. But had a huge impact on the way I see myself. The choose is mine 3️⃣ Think & Grow Rich - Not just a book about how to make money. Its a book that talks about life. 4️⃣ George Best - Some will question how this book ended up on my list. But it reminds me not to waste my talents 5️⃣ The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - What a great read. I can’t begin to talk about all the changes I have made because of this book. I only wished I knew in 1997 about it. Who am I ❓ I am both these. I’m going to be incredibly honest with you…. You and me, we’re not different. It's easy to fall into the trap of “I’m not enough” seeing influencers living their best lives and traveling the world. But I want to tell you that yes, that is possible. 2 years ago, I was working long hours in the coal mines in Australia. I was absolutely lost and wanted to “escape” this miserable life. Slowly, I started losing grip over my health and relationships. It was like a domino effect. Instead of falling into the victim mindset of ,”I’m not good enough” or “I can’t travel around the world like them”, I decided to take full responsibility and control over my life.
