People got so upset over a character that turned out not to even be a main character lol. CartoonNetwork knew what they were doing. They got people talking about it.
sending âI hope you get that jobâ vibes to the children out here tryna get jobs
It's crazy that we live in a world where people will be more outraged over the shooting of a dog than they would over the shooting of a human being
I get so angry any time Black athletes or entertainers are told to stick to their jobs when speaking out against social injustices. You don't respect who that person is or what he does if you can't respect what makes him "him." They love you for what you create, but they don't love your Blackness.
I finished watching Dear White People. I like that the series fleshed out the characters more than the movie did. I know there has been a lot of controversy over the title and the trailer, but this isnât a âhate all white peopleâ show. It talks about race relations from mostly black characters points of view (there is one episode that focuses more on a white character), but itâs not saying that black people always go about voicing their opinions properly. In the show there are black students who want to protest every time something happens and black students who would rather take a more diplomatic approach by talking to the Dean of the school or calling the police. There are black students who have had it hard growing up because of how dark their skin is or the city they grew up in; black students who seem to have not really experienced any form of racism besides micro-aggressions; the show discusses gay black men and how they can be treated in the black community because of their sexuality; it also discusses the idea of not being âblack enough,â and being âdown for the cause.â This is all mixed in with the idea of these black students going to a predominantly white school and trying to get their white peers to understand why certain things are offensive to them. But like I mentioned, all the black students may not voice their opinions properly which causes more tension between the groups. The show is called Dear White People, but we know itâs not all white people. Honestly would it have garnered as much attention as it has if it were called âDear Racistsâ or âDear People who do some things that Black people are uncomfortable with?â Maybe âDear People Who Fetishize Black People?â âDear People Who Dress Up in Racist Costumes?â âDear People Who Think Itâs Okay to Say Nigga Because Itâs in a Song?â
Scrolling through Instagram and I see a white woman in a dashiki dress. I don't have a problem with it because I don't personally know the woman so I cant speak on if she's appropriating the culture or appreciating it. And although I acknowledge my history, I am African-American, so I don't feel like it's appropriate for me to speak on behalf of those who traditionally wear the dashiki, although it does have a history in the African-American community as well. But the comments were interesting. I find it funny/not so funny when a person uses the line "there are white Africans too" as an argument for African appropriation. Pick up a book and read about how those white "Africans" got there and what they did once they landed there. It's like defending Native American appropriation because there are other groups besides Native Americans in the Americas. This isn't an attack on the current generations of white people who were born and raised in Africa because they had no choice in being from the continent. It's more of a "read before you teach" lesson to the people who use arguments of that nature in a debate on cultural appropriation.
I thought this was dope until I saw âTumpâ on the building . Now I canât stop laughing. What's really funny is half or more of the people who reblogged this probably didn't notice it and just put some random deep quote or word under the pic. Itâs still a clean image though

Despite repeatedly claiming that his social programs will be paid for by âthe 1%,â Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt) admitted that his newly unveiled health care plan will require the middle class to pay more in taxes.
The only important thing that happened during the Dem debate.
He is garbage.
but but but the 1%!!!!!!
Ok hold on, I actually just read the article and it actually seems the people who said âoh heâs garbageâ or whatever didnât actually read what they reblogged.
His plan involves increasing taxes, yes, but heâs also planning to do away with private insurance premiums. Youâre actually saving money via that plan, so ultimately better off financially. Put simply, private insurance premium going away means all that money back in your pocket. Then, you pay SOME of that money to taxes. Taxes go up, BUT youâre paying less than youâd have paid the private company. So yes, youâd be paying more taxes, but in total your expenses go down by thousands.
Read the things you reblog, dammit.
Uhhhh
You literally admitted he says he wants to increase taxes.
oh boo hoo, you pay a little bit more in taxes. how else do people expect shit to get done? -_-
⌠Really?
oh no my taxes are going to be more
and people nationwide will stop suffering from lack of healthcareÂ
and maybe ending poverty will take a step in the right direction
and maybe private insurance companies will stop gouging peopleÂ
and hey Iâll actually have a net positive after all this since it saves me money in the long run
and hey maybe weâll be on par with every other 1st world country on the planet
and hey maybe parents will call the hospital when their kids are sick instead of waiting it out because their insurance rates are too much for them to afford
but
oh no my taxes are going to be more
Same rhetoric as obamacare. Premiums are up, coverage is down, but hey. At least everyoneâŚ.no wait.
Government run healthcare is the biggest croc of idiocy alive today. Medicare, medicaid, obamacare, all failures. All dying. But juuuuuust one more right? This time it will work!
so what r ur opinions on minecraft?
So⌠The NHSâŚ
Guys, Sanders is asking for a 2.2% health care tax hike to cover health care costs. If your household is earning $70k a year, thatâs $1,540 a year in extra taxes.
There will also be a payroll tax levied on employers of 6.7%. Assuming the entire cost is passed on to workers (and I guarantee you it wonât be - customers will also pick up part of the tab), thatâs an extra $4,690, bringing the total to $6,230 a year.
Obamacare average household premiums were about $16,800 in 2015, and are still rising. Thatâs at least 2.7 times higher than the tax hike (a highly conservative estimate), and will probably be higher as health care costs continue to rise.
You will not need to pay for premiums in a single payer system. Youâre literally saving over thousands of dollars a year if youâre a middle class citizen, and even more if youâre a working class citizen.
There are plenty of other examples of nations that have implemented a single payer system, and their citizens are paying significantly less than Americans.
Do your research before complaining about taxes.

reblogging for hard numbers
Reblogging for hard numbers. This is what George Carlin meant when he said that the owners of our country donât want an educated populace - they want people just smart enough to do the shit work, and just dumb enough not to know how badly theyâre being screwed over compared with the rest of the civilized world. Everyone who whined âbut TAXESâ and âhe is GARBAGEâ is a living example of how this plan is working out for the owners of our society, the 1%.
tldr: You pay 2% more in taxes but save $1000âs a year in insurance premium. You will pay $0 for insurance premiums.
I am Italian, born and raised in Italy, and now live in the US.
I can guarantee you that GOVERNMENT SUBSIDED HEALTH CARE WORKS EVERY FUCKING WHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2005. He had four major surgeries, chemo, radio, hospital stays, constant check ups. From then till the day he passed away in 2011 (after a three week hospital stay) we paid MAYBE about a grand? or two? shit I canât even remember it was SO FUCKING LITTLE.Â
I dont know how the fuck anyone can expect a society to work without paying taxes, nor I do understand why taxes are a-okay when they fund COLOSSAL MILITARY SPENDING, drones, wars, or MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN BAILOUT FOR WALL STREET, but you suddenly have a problem when itâs about BETTERING THE GODDAMN COUNTRY.
Sanders:Â âIâm a socialistâ
people:Â âalrightâ
Sanders:Â âI want to pay for healthcare with taxesâ
people:Â âhaha gotcha what an ideological traitor!â
If you read this to the end, please spread this around. Or at the very least, maybe limit this down to the more important posts so people can actually read what matters about it. Because this crap needs to be straightened out.
I live in the UK so NHS and it has drawbacks, like waiting times because priority cases get bumped up the queue, so you can wait months for a non-emergency procedure
OR
you can go private, you go to a company like Bupa, for example, and for a premium you get to cut queues and tests and drugs the nhs wonât fund
but we get subsidised dental, eye and hearing tests, subsidised prescriptions etc. Everyone gets this, if you qualify you can get all of that free, and weâre taxed for it, it is part of our national insurance payment which covers unemployment, and pension as well and is worked out as a percentage
but you donât have to take the free stuff, you can still go private - you just pay taxes as well, and we pay more in NI than heâs suggesting
the only people to suffer from this are the insurance companies
Thatâs what I donât understand. When you have money you will always get the treatment you want. Itâs just another way to rule poor people with fear.
